THEY ARRIVE TONIGHT, but before they do, check out this short clip of Patrick and I meeting a few of the cast members at local “green” carpet event. Words cannot even begin to describe how excited I am about the show’s premiere tonight. I fondly remember watching the original mini-series and its sequel when I was a child.
If you’ve never heard of or watched the original, the premise of the show chronicles earth’s first encounter with an alien race. These alien ships arrive on various locations on earth simultaneously and offer a message of peace and generosity. Even though they look human, they are secretly lizards underneath the facade. The “Visitors”, hence the show title, V, look to take over earth and eliminate the human race. Well, that’s what the 80s version was like. It’ll be interesting to see what the producers will update and alter for the updated series.
The re-imagining of the 80s classic stars, Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost), Scott Wolf (Party of Five), and Morris Chestnut (Boyz n the Hood) to name just a few. With this wicked cast and a huge ABC promotion behind it, I have no doubt “V” will be a hit once again. Even though both “V” mini-series were huge hits in the 80s, the spinoff weekly show was not. Something got lost in translation and the storylines seemed disjointed and unexciting. Having said that, I still believe “V” is worth checking out tonight and will be another hit for ABC.
