It’s only a preview of her new track, but it’s already a million times better than anything on the free LP Miley Cyrus released after the MTV VMAs. How dreadful was that? This new offering could potentially score an Oscar nod for the 22-year-old. You never know. Stranger things have happened.

Cyrus contributes a stunning new ballad for the upcoming lesbian drama Freeheld. The film is based on the true story of New Jersey police officer Laurel Hester and her partner Stacie Andree. The two fought for equal benefits rights after Hester was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Julianne Moore and Ellen Page play the couple respectively and both attended the world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sunday.

“She has a really raw, unique, awesome, beautiful voice, and Miley’s doing a lot of incredible things for the LGBTQ community. I just thought it was going to be a perfect fit. She and Linda made something really special. I kept listening to it after I heard it.” – Ellen Page

Hands of Love” was written by Linda Perry. The fantastic ballad is raw and heartfelt. I can’t wait to hear the entire thing. It is scheduled to hit iTunes on October 2. Until then, check out a preview featured in a new trailer for Freeheld.

“She walked in with no entourage, no fuss, no anything. She came to be of service for the song and the movie and didn’t bring ‘Miley’ with her.” – Linda Perry on Cyrus

Cate Blanchett is captivating, talented and absolutely exquisite. Who could resist her charms? Hell, I’d probably fall in love with the 46-year-old actress if the opportunity ever presented itself.

Set in New York in the early 50s, Carol is a lesbian love story between a wealthy woman trapped in a loveless marriage and a young lady played by Blanchett and Rooney Mara respectively. Sparks immediately fly after a chance meeting at a Manhattan department store. Their connection only deepens as more time is spent.

Sarah Paulson and Kyle Chandler round out the cast in the Todd Haynes-directed film. Mara tied for the Best Actress award at this year’s Cannes Film Festival for her performance. Carol romances moviegoers in limited release on November 20. Check out the trailer below.

Katherine Heigl returns to the romance genre but with a different love interest. The 36-year-old actress portrays a lesbian who finally comes out to her conservative parents in Jenny’s Wedding. Naturally, they’re surprised to learn that Heigl’s roommate played by Alexis Bledel is also her lover.

Jenny’s Wedding Movie Synopsis

Jenny Farrell (Heigl) has led an openly gay life – except with her conventional family. When she finally decides to start a family and marry the woman they thought was just her roommate (Bledel), the small, safe world the Farrell’s inhabited changes forever. They are left with a simple and difficult choice – either change with it or drown.

Tom Wilkinson, Linda Emond and Grace Gummer round out the cast for the Mary Agnes Donoghue-directed flick. The gay-marriage dramedy hits theaters on July 31 and arrives on VOD August 1. Check out the first trailer below.

For years, rumors were abound that little Olivia from The Cosby Show was one big ‘ol lesbian. And for years, Raven-Symone has denied them. Back in 2008 and 2010, she wrote on her blog and Twitter respectively regarding her sexuality:

“not in a relationship with a girl.” – Raven Symone (2010)

Last year, another rumor surfaced that she was dating and shacking up with ANTM alum AzMarie Livingston. Again, the 27-year-old actress set the record “straight.”

“I’m living my personal life the way I’m happiest. I’m not one, in my 25 year career, to disclose who I’m dating. And I shall not start now,” she writes. “My sexual orientation is mine, and the person I’m datings (sic) to know. I’m not one for a public display of my life.”

“That is my right as a human being whether straight or gay. To tell or not to tell. As long as I’m not harming anyone…And my career is the only thing I would like to put on display, not my personal life.” – Raven

It seems that she’s finally changed her tune (sorta). Check out what she posted on her Twitter today.

On Friday, I had the opportunity to interview Vicci Martinez, whom you likely remember as one of the talented finalists from Season 1 of The Voice. She was a runner up, but was the last one standing on Cee Lo Green‘s team. Martinez and Cee Lo Green actually collaborated on a song together called “Come Along” and it won “Best Rock Song” at the Out Music Awards back in December. She and Cee Lo shot the music video for the song in Seattle earlier this month and they just received the final cut of the video today. Can’t wait to see how it turned out!

Martinez was a little under the weather when I spoke with her, but she’s pushing through because she’s currently on tour right now and has to push through and take care of herself. I talked to her about whether she thinks being an out singer has helped or hindered her career, or if it even matters. The singer is known for her very touching and personal lyrics (“Hold Me Darling” had me in tears a few weeks ago!), so I asked her if she was writing any songs at the moment based on anything going on in her life… and she was and told me about it.

Find out what she had to say about all of this and more by listening to the interview below. Stay tuned for her “Come Along” music video with Cee Lo Green in the near future!

It’s not as cute as the Kindle Paperwhite commercial, but anything that promotes gay marriage is always welcome. Check it out below.

Support for marriage equality has never been stronger in the United States. It’s only natural major corporations reflect this. Microsoft has a long track record of pro-LGBT stances. Their new commercial for Microsoft Outlook further proves that. In the ad, a woman shoots emails to various friends— including a woman who just tied the knot with her female partner.

Out of curiosity, has anyone seen either the Kindle commercial or this new MSN Outlook one on traditional mediums like television? Or are they simply popping up online where they won’t offend conservatives? I fast-forward through most commercials so I couldn’t tell you. Please tell me they’re airing on CBS during NCIS or The Mentalist 😉 Sound off below.

What Lesbians Think About Penises

In: Patrick, Totally GAY!, Videos

A while back, Davey Wavey released a video titled What Gay Men Think About Vaginas. It was actually quite funny to see what people said. Well, now he’s done it again… except for just the opposite.

In the following video, Davey Wavey asks several lesbians (one-on-one) what they think about vaginas. Their initial reactions range from wishing that they had one to explaining that lesbians actually don’t have a problem with penises… just what they are attached to. He then asks them to describe a penis in one word and some of their responses include: Pointy, transformer, squishy-stick, and of course many others. He also had them talk about how penises smell and also to make a face as if they were a penis. LOL.

Another random funny aspect to the video is that there’s one girl that’s all confused because it turns out she’s not a lesbian… well, she admits to being 10% lesbian. Enjoy the video below!

I just checked out this new video from Funny Or Die called “She Said, She Said” and just had to share it with you. I sure needed a good laugh on this rainy, “spring forward” Sunday afternoon.

The short video (directed by Stuart Blumberg) stars Marisa Tomei and Elodie Bouchez as a lesbian couple that is on the brink of divorce and decides to go through mediation in order to decide how to divide their possessions. As you know, divorces and breakups are definitely not smooth sailing so things get ugly. At one part, they have a flashback where one of them develops a fling with the hilarious Aubrey Plaza who you know best from Parks & Recreation.

Watch the funny video below to find out how it all turns out in the end. Happy Sunday!
