Lady Gaga and President Obama aren’t often spoken in the same breath, but the two are in a tight virtual race for supremacy- Facebook supremacy that is. They’re the top two competitors in a popularity contest to see who will be the first living person to reach 10 million fans on Facebook.
Early on Friday, Obama had a comfortable 30K lead over the “Fame Monster” but by mid afternoon Gaga’s fans allowed her to surge past Obama. At this pace, we probably won’t have to wait to long to crown a winner. Projections have it that one of the two will reach the milestone before the weekend is over.
The latest Lady Gaga spoof is of her most recent, elaborate, over-the-top video – Alejandro. From The Batteries Down series, Jackie Hoffman plays Old Lady Gaga in their interpretation of the elderly version of Gaga’s vid. There is a lot of the same choreography, hot guys with corresponding six packs gyrating, and Old Lady Gaga with a walker…gettin’ dirty. I’m not quite sure I get this whole old lady idea, but it’s funny nonetheless.
The other actors include Nick Adams, David Hull, Michael Mindlin, Brian Patrick Murphy, Constantine Rousouli and Brian Spitulnik.
You excited yet? Lady Gaga told Rolling Stone that she is done her next album. I wonder what kind of trip she’ll take us on her next studio album. Gaga, 24 years old, is extremely confident in the new album:
“I think I’m gonna get the album title tattooed on me and put out the photo. I’ve been working on it for months now, and I feel very strongly that it’s finished right now. It came so quickly. Some artists take years; I don’t. I write music every day. Why are we still talking about ‘Don’t ask, don’t tell?’ It’s like, what f—king year is it? It makes me crazy! And I have been for three years baking cakes—and now I’m going to bake a cake that has a bitter jelly. The message of the new music is now more bitter than it was before. Because the sweeter the cake, the more bitter the jelly can be.”
Evidently, she’s not slowing down any time soon and definitely not on the hunt for a man or anything – “sex is certainly not, like, a priority at the moment.” Her focus is her work and to continue creating for her fans.
The Key of Awesome is back with another hilarious sketch warning celebs, “Don’t Fuck With The Gaga.” Recently, Katy Perry, Queen of Candyland, had tweeted something a little bitchy, and people have speculated that she was referring to Gaga. It read:
Using blasphemy as entertainment is as cheap as a comedian telling a fart joke.
Also, there was a gay marriage advocate that did something totally hypocritical and Gaga must punish this person.
Check out the video and remember – don’t fuck with the Gaga!
This week in Gaga, a mashup posted back in January is getting viral with the recent release of her Alejandro music video. The song has a striking resemblance to Ace of Base’s, “Don’t Turn Around.” Must be Christina Aguilera‘s fault, or Lady Gaga must have wrote “Don’t Turn Around” for Ace of Base.
If it was inspired by Ace of Base’s song, who cares. They songs do sounds so similar, so it’s just an observation – that’s all. Like I’ve said before, people inspire each other.
GAGA. KLEIN. ALEJANDRO.
It’s out boys and girls! Gaga’s third video for her hugely successful The Fame Monster has finally been release today. The single is called Alejandro, the very Ace of Base sounding summer jam. This song is about Gaga’s fear of the Sex Monster, singing about her lovers and asking them to leave her alone.
Let’s get to the video.
First off, it’s almost 9 minutes long…oh Gaga, what would pop videos be with out you? Well they would be much shorter that’s for sure.
The video starts off with a very military marching thing with the hot men with bad haircuts, and like high wasted spandex things. Ok i’m not too arty so I dont get it, but I’m just saying what on there. Then with Gaga walking ahead of a casket, holding a heart (which is the only thing in colour in this black and white video.) I’m assuming it’s HER heart that Alejandro broke..I don’t know.
I don’t know seems to be the big question on my lips after watching this one. I don’t know how good it really is…I don’t know if this is her strongest video…I don’t really know what the heck it’s supposed to be about. It’s very military, VERY homoerotic, very gays IN the military, very Madonna, very black and white, very weird. It’s arty, and out there, and the outfits are bizarre. Shes a soldier, then a nun, then she has a mushroom cut in a pantsuit.
You can’t mention Los Angeles’ gay night club scene without mentioning Tom Whitman. The two are practically synonymous with each other. After checking out Whitman’s Cherry Pop night at Ultra Suede the night before, the studly club promoter took some time out of his hectic schedule to chat with Homorazzi.com’s Alex and Adam the next day.
Before venturing into club and event promotions, Tom worked in the television/film industry, primarily for MTV and Nickelodeon. With his production experience work for The MTV Movie Awards and various concerts for artists like Britney Spears, Whitney Houston and many others, Whitman decided to transfer his skills to club promotions full-time after throwing a few uber-successful events.
Besides putting on more than 200 events a year in the Los Angeles area, he’s a busy philanthropist. Cognisant of the fact, he benefits from the gay community, he has no qualms about devoting his time to giving back to the community. He’s donated his time and efforts to AIDS Project Los Angeles, GLAAD, HRC, The Trevor Project and others. And if he wants busy enough, he also co-owns a stylish furniture store in WeHo called http://www.thisisnotikea.com/
I love how artists are releasing teasers for music videos as if they are huge films. Lately with their monster budgets and crazy effects they pretty much are.
The newest is my absolute favorite Lady Gaga with Alejandro.
Alejandro is the latest single from Gaga’s hugely successful album, and is already going to be one of the bigger songs of the summer, with big remixes planned, and an even bigger video debut. The actual full video won’t debut until the 7th on Gaga’s website but I have a few second clip for you all.
At first glance I see Madonna Vogue, and Express Yourself. A little Rhythm Nation, and some I, Robot thrown in for fun. That’s pretty much it. Let’s see what you get from the clip…enjoy it below!
