Kesha Heads To Las Vegas For Mini Residency

In: Donovan, Music

If you’re a Kesha fan, better break open that bottle of Jack. The embattled 29-year-old singer just announced a mini Las Vegas Residency.

She’s set to perform three nights at Wynn Las Vegas’ Intrigue Nightclub– June 23, June 25, and July 23. Based on the ticket prices, I would assume the “Tik Tok” singer will only be belting out a couple of songs and not staging an entire show.

The news just comes weeks after Kesha performed at the Billboard Music Awards. In the eleventh hour, she was allowed to the hit the stage once Dr. Luke gave his approval. Reportedly, it was only after it was promised she would not reference the contention with Dr. Luke or their ongoing legal battle. I’m curious to know if Kemosabe Records signed off on this and if so, what conditions were set.

Check out her Las Vegas residency promotional photo below that Kesha shared on social media.

The ongoing Kesha-Dr Luke saga continues. Is anyone else hoping this drama comes to a close in the near future?

Just a couple of days ago, Billboard issued a statement revealing Dr. Luke’s Kemosabe Records rescinded its permission for Kesha to perform at this weekend’s Billboard Music Awards for fear the “Tik Tok” singer would use the platform to disparage his name.

Kesha responded by saying her performance had nothing to do with Dr. Luke, but rather a tribute to Bob Dylan. She explained, “I was never going to use a picture of him, speak of him or allude to my legal situation in any way. I simply wanted to sing a song I love to honor an artist I have always looked up to.”

Even Lady Gaga weighed in. She compared Dr. Luke to a Disney villain. “Isn’t it strange that it’s legal to own a woman this way? Listen Ursula, we want her voice back. #freeKesha,” she tweeted.

Fast forward to today and the 42-year-old producer has changed his mind, once again. Read his latest statement below.

Since Zedd and Kesha were allowed to officially release their collaboration “True Colors,” I thought things were cooling down between Kesha Rose and her label. It appears that’s not the case.

The Billboard Music Awards just released a statement revealing Kesha won’t be able to perform this Sunday due to her ongoing legal battle. Reportedly, she was given written confirmation from Dr. Luke’s label Kemosabe Records but later, the permission was rescinded. Read Billboard’s statement below.

The pressure to be the perfect mother these days is unbelievable. Mommy shaming is definitely a thing that I’ve witnessed first-hand when picking up my niece from school. You can totally tell who the ‘mean moms‘ are.

Bad Moms comes from the guys who wrote The Hangover. You have Team Mila Kunis consisting of Kathryn Hahn and Kristen Bell facing off in an all-out mommy war against Team Christina Applegate made up of Annie Mumolo and Jada Pinkett Smith. The struggle is real folks.

Bad Moms Movie Synopsis

In this new comedy from the writers of The Hangover, Amy has a seemingly perfect life – a great marriage, over-achieving kids, beautiful home and a career. However she’s over-worked, over-committed and exhausted to the point that she’s about to snap. Fed up, she joins forces with two other over-stressed moms on a quest to liberate themselves from conventional responsibilities – going on a wild, un-mom-like binge of long overdue freedom, fun and self-indulgence – putting them on a collision course with PTA Queen Bee Gwendolyn and her clique of devoted perfect moms.

Kesha and Lilly Singh also appear in the comedy. Bad Moms carpools to theaters on July 29. Check out the red band trailer below.

Zedd Debuts Kesha Collaboration ‘True Colors’

In: Donovan, Music

Zedd is a man of his word. The 26-year-old DJ makes good on his promise to produce a single with Kesha during her ongoing legal battle with her record label. No lip service here.

True Colors” marks Kesha’s first single since her smash hit collaboration “Timber” with Pitbull. And that was a whopping three years ago. It’s been far too long.

If you recall, Zedd and Kesha peformed “True Colors” a couple weekends ago at Coachella. While I was hoping for a brand new track, at this stage of the game, it’s just nice to see Kesha Rose back in the studio. “True Colors” is just an updated version of the title track from his last album. That version featured uncredited vocals from Tim James from Rock Mafia.

Just in case you were wondering, the single doesn’t break any laws. Zedd took to Twitter to explain. Oddly enough, Dr. Luke chimed on.

Kesha Performs With Zedd At 2016 Coachella

In: Donovan, Music

Kesha’s rumored Coachella appearance actually came to fruition. The embattled 29-year-old singer made a triumphant return during Zedd’s set. It marked her most high-profile gig since being embroiled in a legal battle with Dr. Luke and Sony.

Dressed in a black lingerie-looking ensemble, Kesha belted out “True Colors,” originally from Zedd’s album of the same name. She did exceptionally well and was very well received by the festival crowd. Well done Kesha Rose.

If you recall, Zedd was one of many who publicly expressed their support to Kesha. He even offered to provide his production services. After watching this, I have high hopes for their future collaboration. Check out Kesha’s performance below.

Kesha Books Nashville Guest Spot

In: Donovan, TV Shows

Recently, Kesha put her stunning Nashville oasis on the market. No doubt, in part to help pay for those mounting legal bills. I can’t even imagine how high those will reach before this lawsuit gets settled.

Just because she’s unloading the property, the 29-year-old singer isn’t cutting ties with the Music City just yet. The “Tik Tok” singer just booked a guest gig on the ABC drama, Nashville.

Unlike Christina Aguilera, who played another character, Kesha will play herself. She’ll pop up with fellow singers Kelsea Ballerini and Thomas Rhett when the musical drama returns.

Her recent acting credits include Jane The Virgin and the disastrous trainwreck that was Jem and the Holograms. She’s also set to appear in Bad Moms co-starring Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell and Jada Pinkett Smith. At least her acting career is on the upswing. Hopefully, her recording one follows suit soon.

With her messy court battle with Sony Music still ongoing, no doubt the legal bills are mounting. Even with Taylor Swift’s $250,000 donation, I’m sure the 29-year-old singer is feeling the pinch. Not completely surprised she’s unloading some real estate.

Kesha isn’t known for having the greatest fashion sense, but when it comes to home decor, she’s on point. At least her interior decorator is. Her Nashville home is a zen oasis.

The 4,800 square-foot home has vaulted ceilings and great views of the forested state park. The exposed beams are stunning. It also boasts a wrap-around deck, outdoor pool and reflective ponds. At an asking price of $1.449 million, it’s almost a steal.
