Another season of So You Think You Dance premieres tomorrow. Can you believe it’s the tenth season? It just seems like yesterday when the dancing competition began. In its inaugural season, it was all about crowning America’s Best Dancer. Realizing it was just one big popularity contest, it quickly changed to America’s favorite dancer. For the purpose of this post, it’s all about crowning America’s hottest dancer. My kind of contest.

Over the years, FOX’s dancing competition has featured a bevy of flexible studs, dropping it like it’s hot while shirtless and sweaty. Every season there seems to be one or a couple male contestants that captivate the hearts and eyes of teenage girls and horny gay men everywhere. I decided to go back through all the seasons and pick the Top 15 hottest male dancers to ever compete on the show. Will recently-anointed winner Chehon Wespi-Teschopp make the cut? One particular season dominated my list, owning all Top 3 slots. Find out which one and my HOTTEST pick below.

As you know by now, Neil Patrick Harris dreams in puppets in his hilarious and sexy new web series, Neil’s Puppet Dreams. I’ve written about every episode so far and today, the season finale is already here. In this episode, it’s a “Bollywood” music video you mustn’t miss.

Prior to falling asleep, Neil & his real life husband David Burtka are eating Indian food in bed. “Bollywood in Hollywood,” jokes NPH. Within seconds, he’s asleep and the star of a Bollywood music video where forbidden love keeps him apart from a female cow he’s in love with. Neil sings, “I know it’s a little taboo, but I just wanna make her scream…” LOL.

The video is full out and as you can see from the screen shot above, former SYTYCD finalist, Kent Boyd is one of Neil’s main backup dancers. Watch Neil musically grapple with the love that dare not moo its name in the episode below.

SYTYCD 7: America’s Favorite Dancer Is…

In: Dan, TV Shows

We have finally made it folks! America’s favourite dancer has been revealed after two long, painful, filler-crammed nonsense hours. Can you even believe it! Lauren, Kent and Robert are the final three contestants (as you all know from Wednesday night’s performance show) and one of them will be walking away with the title. The show opened with its usual style; a performance with a collection of all-stars and season seven contestants, including an injured Alex Wong performing sitting choreography.

The piece was yet another new routine for Kent, Lauren and Robert to learn on top of all their routines from Wednesday. The number was put together by Christopher Scott, known from his role in LXD (legion of extraordinary dancers). I thought this routine was pretty fantastic right off the start and it makes sense when credit was revealed to Mr. Scott.

SYTYCD 7: Top 3 Finale Performances

We’ve made it folks; it’s the end of another season with So You Think You Can Dance! Season Seven has proven to be truly unique with its new format, the inclusion of the all-star dancers with the new contestants and some pretty fantastic boy-with-boy and girl-with-girl routines. Just when Skeletor (Nigel) said it couldn’t be done! For some ungodly reason, SYTYCD is TWO hours tonight even though there are only three contestants remaining. I can’t WAIT to see how this is long-drawn out, especially following a four hour flight home from Toronto (heck yeah I saw fellow cast member Kevin)!

Kent (my boy from the start), Lauren (my girl from the start) and the dark horse in the competition, Robert are the three remaining contestants. I want to make the statement now that I will be super happy with any of these three taking home the title of America’s favourite dancer. On the flip side, it BETTER be Kent or I am gonna spook on my American friends next time I see them.

KENT BOYD

Up first was cutie Kent dancing a Bollywood routine with all-star Lauren; PERFECT way to start the night! The piece was performed to Om Mangalam by Kambakkht Ishq (soundtrack). Lauren was absolutely stunning in this piece but I have to admit that Kent definitely suffered with this style. Then it hit me, Kent probably has to perform at least eight routines over the course of these two nights, so this appears to be nearly impossible to learn on top of all the other responsibilities. I was still happy enough with this piece as a finale opener!

SYTYCD 7: Top 4 Eliminations

In: Dan, TV Shows

We are finally down to the last elimination episode before the huge finale next week for the seventh season of So You Think You Can Dance! America’s votes from Wednesday night’s performance show finally come in to effect as the contestant with the fewest amount of votes will be eliminated from the competition. Naturally, in SYTYCD the show opened with a Contemporary group performance choreographed by Dee Caspary and danced to Drumming Song by Florence + The Machine. This song and routine was both radical! I love love love Florence + The Machine!

Naturally Cat Deeley informed us that we will be forced to watch an extraordinary amount of filler nonsense tonight before learning who will be making it through to next week’s finale. Skeletor of course then natters on about himself insinuating that he was ‘coerced’ into performing another tap routine next week. Right. Because no one wanted to see you dance anyways, so thank you for doing us all a favour.

SYTYCD 7: Top 4 Performances Recap

In: Dan, TV Shows

We are back with another episode of SYTYCD and there are only four dancers left yet we are being forced to watch another two fucking hours of dancing. Pardon my French but are you kidding me?! There are only four people left to dance; how many routines can you possibly be forcing them to dance to fill TWO HOURS. Enough, Skeletor, enough. THIS ISN’T EVEN THE FINALE – THAT’S NEXT WEEK!

We’re left with Kent, Robert, AdeChike and Lauren. The only good news about tonight’s episode is that America is FINALLY going to be making the decisions instead of the nonsense (and lame) judges hand picking who they want to win. I would love to see the format of next season be America’s choice for the entire program, similar to American Idol.

Each dancer will be performing THREE times tonight. WHY?!

LAUREN, ROBERT, KENT & ADECHIKE

The show opened with a Tyce Diorio Broadway top four group routine, performed to The Crapshooter’s Dance from Guys & Dolls (50th Anniversary Cast Recording). Man was this a load of crap! I really can’t stand Broadway. I am just in a foul mood right off the bat due to the excessive length of tonight’s performance show. Ya’ll know we’re going to have to suffer through a mediocre Fox Trot or Cha Cha that will make you want to poke your eyes out. I was literally watching this piece and kept thinking to myself, ‘which one of these things is not like the other…which one of these things just doesn’t belong…”

SYTYCD 7: Top 6 Eliminations (For Real)

In: Dan, TV Shows

So tonight should finally be interesting as TWO, that’s right, TWO dancers are leaving the competition. I really hope that America actually gets to decide who is leaving us instead of the judges predetermining (with extreme bias) who is going home. Let’s get ready to RUMMMMMMMBBBBBLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

The show opened with the standard group routine choreographed by Mia Michaels and performed to Every Little Thing She Does is Magic by Sting. Definitely an eclectic piece with a touch of a dark as an undertone. If you caught the routine you’ll not that Lauren wasn’t the star (and only girl), as Allison had filled in for her…but Cat filled us in that Lauren is fine and decided to sit out from tonight’s routine.

The first two dancers were then brought out to the stage; Jose and my boy Kent! If you remember, I forecasted Kent would be in the bottom three for the first time and I want to take a moment to apologize for even thinking this. What kind of boyfriend/fan does that make me?! After an almost nail-biting review of their routines from last night Cat thankfully placed Jose in the bottom three with Kent sailing through to safety. Again, I’m sorry Kent for ever doubting you.

SYTYCD 7: Top 6 Performances Recap (Redux)

In: Dan, TV Shows

I’m BACK! Thanks to Richie for last week and doing a brilliant job filling in! So we’re back again to watch the top six dancers perform as the judges decided to keep all the contestants from last week as it was blatantly obvious that Jose was about to be sent home (or the injured Billy Bell) and heaven forbid that happen. I am really starting to get tired of the two hour format of this show. It is absolutely unnecessary for this show to be taking up this much time with only six dancers left. Thankfully two dancers are leaving us this week inching ever closer to the finale.

KENT BOYD

The first dancer to take to the stage is my boy Kent dancing a ChaCha routine with all-star Anya. The danced a Jean-Marc and France routine to My First Kiss by 3Oh!3 ft. Ke$ha. Thank goodness this was Kent’s routine or I would have fast forwarded from the minute they announced the ChaCha. I’ll give Kent credit, he did a decent job with this piece. Until the end. When he almost dropped Anya. Seriously, that was a hot mess tonight! Fantastic, they’ve added a fourth judge to the panel for more useless filler…
