Last night, Round 1 of voting wrapped up for the Sports Stud 2011 Showdown, and as I mentioned in that previous post, the two top studs will move on to the final round after three rounds. The top hottie for Round 1 turned out to be sexy rugby player, Kayne Lawton. He actually made up a whopping 45% of the votes. Looks like Lawton’s got some loyal fans! Following his lead, in second place with 31% of the votes was the sexy Daniel Conn. Like Lawton, he is also a rugby player and the two of them don’t shy away from sexy photo shoots. I’m certain that definitely helps them in situations like this.
We now move into the second round of voting with a whole new batch of eye candy candidates – 16 more to be exact. These men were featured roughly between May and August of this past year, making my summer just a little bit hotter. I think you guys may have a bit more difficulty with these ones as there are many hot ones to choose from. Best of luck and enjoy!
I’ve been writing these Weekly Sports Studs for quite some time now and just realized that I don’t think I’ve profiled a surfer before! Crazyiness! Well, surfs up dude. This week’s hottie is a 39 year old American professional surfer named Kelly Slater (such a surfer name…or a Saved By The Bell hybrid name LOL). He’s pretty much the perfect fit for my first surfer, since he’s one of the best. He has been crowned ASP World Champion a record 10 times! Five of these were consecutive titles (1994–1998) and he is also the youngest (at age 20) an oldest (at age 38) to win the title. He has certainly made his mark on the sport!
This DILF (yes, he has a teenage daughter) is originally from Cocoa Beach, Florida and has been primarily sponsored by Quiksilver and only rides Channel Islands surfboards. Not only is he able to seduce you with his good looks, rockin’ body, and superior talent, but he also plays the guitar and even was in a band at one time. He’s also performed with Ben Harper as well as Pearl Jam before! Aside from that, he’s already released an autobiography, been a character in a Tony Hawk’s video game, and been honored by the United States House of Representatives for his outstanding accomplishments in surfing.
This coming Tuesday, the mayor of Huntington Beach, California (also known as Surf City) will be presenting Slater with the key to the city. He’ll be awarded the key during Surf City Nights, the weekly street fair and farmers’ market in Huntington.
The Body Issue comes out today and this is ESPN Magazine’s second annual exploration and celebration of the athletic form which is an au naturel look at some of America’s favorite athletes. I’ve compiled my favorite photos from the bunch focusing on the male athletes in the collection.
Check out the stunning images and “The Making” of the Body Issue 2010 on the next part of the post.
