Remember Kat DeLuna? Her debut single, “Whine Up,” cracked the Billboard Hot 100 Top 40 back in 2007. Well, the 27-year-old singer returns and with a decently catchy comeback single.
The Dominican singer teams up with Trey Songz for “Bum Bum.” The island-tinged offering samples Sister Nancy’s “Bam Bam.” For those not familiar with that, you might recognize the interpolation of Shaggy’s reggae hit “It Wasn’t Me.”
“I’m so excited for the world to hear my amazing new song ‘Bum Bum’ with the incredible Trey Songz,” said Kat to Rap-Up.com. “This song is evidence that music transcends generations, and for that I want to specially thank Sister Nancy for originating such an incredible song that left its musical imprint culturally for years to come. I hope ‘Bum Bum’ becomes your summer anthem!”
To accompany her hot new single, DeLuna debuts equally scorching artwork. Dang, that’s one sexy cover.
Check out “Bum Bum” below. It’s got potential to be a sleeper hit for this summer. The tropical beat go perfectly with those hot summer days and hotter summer nights.
She’s back! Today, Kat DeLuna debuted her music video for ‘Wanna See U Dance,’ the first single from her upcoming album, ViVa Out Loud. The exclusive release of the video was done via RyanSeacrest.com and we’ve got your first look at the video below.
The video and track is very fast-paced, jam-packed with some sexy samba choreography, deliciously wet hunks, and steamy visuals. At first the sound reminded me of something we might hear from Shakira, but as the song went on perhaps more along the lines of Jennifer Lopez with the “Na Na Na’s” of Rihanna. LOL. I like it. She’s spunky, feisty, and I look forward to hear the rest of her upcoming album. Says DeLuna of ViVa Out Loud, “I have ballads, but infused with crazy dub step. And then again, I’m giving you guys the hard core pop, Latin, dance infused dance songs, but with something new.”
Check out the video below and let me know what you think. Does the track & video make you wanna dance?
If you’re a fan of Kat DeLuna, then today is your lucky day. The fiery singer just released the music video for “Drop It Low”. The track serves as the lead-cut from her forthcoming album “ViVa“. DeLuna has been relatively quiet on the mainstream charts since her smash hit “Whine Up“, but she’s consistently delivered hot dance tracks that have done well in clubs and on Billboard’s Dance charts. “Drop It Low” is destined to continue that streak and might be that crossover hit she needs.
Produced by EightySix, the track is very reminiscent of Jennifer Lopez’s “On The Floor“. It showcases a good beat with some spicy Latin flavor. All that’s missing is some hip-hop swagger from a rapper. The music video features DeLuna dropping it low and shaking all her assets vigorously. It’s not a bad track, but I prefer Christina Milian’s classic “Drop It Low” from a few years back. Memba that? Watch Kat’s music video below.
Vegas was where it was at this weekend. Not only were the Billboard Awards held there, but Kylie Minogue brought her Aphrodite tour to Sin City, wowing gays to a heightened frenzy. Hosting the official after-hours party was one of our favorite party promoters, Eduardo Cordova. The Vegas promoter enlisted a trio of talented ladies for his gay-friendly dance party, Closet Sundays, at The Beatles Revolution Lounge.
Pop singer Kat Deluna and Estonian singer Kerli performed their hits “Whine Up” and “Army of Love” respectively to the delight of the packed house. Following her appearance at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards, Ke$ha gave a special impromptu performance. Everyone’s favorite bad girl sang three of her chart-topping hits, “We R Who We R“, “Tik Tok” and “Blow“. Afterward, Ke dollar sign ha partied it up with her dancers and Kylie’s dancers in the VIP area.
During my recent trip to Las Vegas, I had the pleasure of attending one of Cordova’s parties, Sundanze, which was a definite highlight of my trip. I’m a little bummed I wasn’t there to enjoy the lineup. I can’t wait to hit Vegas again real soon to enjoy of one Eduardo’s parties again.
After the successful launch of Sundanze last month with Kelly Rowland performing and DJ Tracy Young spinning the tracks, The Light Group and Eduardo Cordova are back with their monthly event with two equally hot acts. R&B sensation Kat Deluna of “Whine Up” fame will hit the stage and perform live for the sexy Las Vegas crowd. Meanwhile, UK DJ Wayne G will be working his magic behind the turntables to keep the partygoers hype and on the dance floor.
The gay-friendly dance party, “Sundanze” is a collaboration between The Light Group and premiere LGBT party promoter Eduardo Cordova (i.e. Heaven Saturdays at BARE, Closet Sundays at The Beatles Revolution Lounge). It is one of the largest LGBT parties in Sin City and takes part monthly at The Mirage’s JET Nightclub. Featuring the hottest male and female gogos on earth and special production acts from Ibiza, “Sundanze” seeks to re-define gay nightlife! So if you’re in the area, celebrate this President’s Day weekend in style.
I do not religiously sync my music to my iPhone or iPod shuffle…usually this happens before I go on a trip. I updated it shortly before leaving for Orlando with the most current dance tunes that I knew were going to be played and were going to be our weekend anthems. Three of the songs I used on the video slideshow I made HERE. I rarely listen to original versions of tracks and usually search for remixes done by my favourites such as Digital Dog, Tony Moran, Abel, Jason Nevins, Soulseekerz, Ralphi Rosario, Rauhofer, DJ Escape, Karmatronic, Dave Aude, Offer Nissim, Deadmau5 to name a few.
So what 10 tracks currently live in my iPod?
Kelly Rowland – When Love Takes Over (Abel Ramos Paris with Love Remix)
Finally Kelly Rowland came out with a real hit! Too bad that it took a collaboration with David Guetta to get there. If you’re trying to figure out what song this samples….it’s Coldplay’s “Clocks”. B-rilliant!
