What’s your song of the summer so far? Is it Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky?” How about “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke? Perhaps it’s Pitbull and Christina Aguilera’s catchy dance anthem “Feel This Moment?” DJ Earworm definitely considers them as viable contenders for the 2013 summer crown. The musical genius has once again worked his magic and delivered another wicked mashup. Praise the dance gods he doesn’t just do a year-end one.
Along with the aforementioned tracks, DJ Earworm includes hit tracks from Demi Lovato, Rihanna, Icona Pop, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Zedd, will.i.am and Justin Bieber to name a few. Props to my buddy Trevor Guthrie for getting a nod for his collaboration with Armin van Buuren in the mashup.
As much as I love DJ Earworm’s latest masterpiece, I feel he unfairly snubbed Selena Gomez’s “Come & Get It,” Mariah Carey’s “#Beautiful,” Justin Timberlake’s “Mirrors,” and Miley Cyrus’ oddly addicting “We Can’t Stop.” I’ve definitely have all those songs on heavy rotation. Check out Earworm’s new mash below.
After two years stuck in the runner-up slot, Oprah Winfrey returns to the top of the heap. For the fifth time ever, the 59-year-old mogul tops Forbes annual list of the 100 Most Powerful Celebrities. Unlike most lists from the publication, this list isn’t solely based on earnings and net worth. Rather, a combination of press mentions, social media power and naturally cha-ching is used in their formula. For the first time ever, a marketability score has been added to the mix.
Last year’s top dog, Jennifer Lopez, drops to No. 12. No doubt in part to her leaving American Idol. Even though she received less press mentions and lost that salary, abandoning that sinking ship was a wise career move. Even with J. Lo’s absence, six of the Top 10 spots are occupied by women. Check out the entire Top 100 list below.
First she topped Maxim’s Hottest Women list and now this. While Miley Cyrus is no angel, labeling her the worst female celebrity role model is a tad unwarranted, especially given the trainwrecks out there like Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Bynes, Farrah Abraham and so forth. Sure Cyrus is a bit wild, but she’s been with the same guy for years, hasn’t been in and out of rehab, been arrested or doing porn like the aforementioned ladies.
Apparently, the parents taking part in a survey conducted by CouponCodes4U disagree with me. Miley along with Chris Brown top the worst female and male celebrity role model lists respectively. PS. Brown definitely deserves his title and then some.
Also making the list is the Kardashian clan. While Khloe didn’t make the cut, Kim and her baby daddy Kanye West, Kourtney and Bruce Jenner were singled out. Bruce Jenner, really??? Why him? I don’t watch their E! show so I’m not sure why he’s being called out.
What I find fascinating about the survey is that most of the women are relatively young and in their 20s while only Justin Bieber and Brown are the only two under the age of 30. Interesting, don’t you think? Check out who else landed on the lists.
First he loses Selena Gomez and now this. The Biebs certainly isn’t having a banner year. The 19-year-old Canadian singer just lost the crown as the most-viewed artist on YouTube. Oh well, at least Justin Bieber still reigns supreme on Twitter. He became the first artist to lure in over 40 million followers. With that being said, there are reports that almost half of his followers are spam and inactive accounts. Poor guy. Find out who the new king, or should I say queen, of YouTube is below.
The 2013 Billboard Music Awards air live on Sunday, May 19 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on ABC. The acts competing in all the categories have been revealed. Leading the way with a whopping 11 nominations each is a three way tie between Taylor Swift, fun. and Maroon 5. Right on their tails is Rihanna with 10 nods. Not too far behind are Carly Rae Jepsen and One Direction with nine and eight nominations respectively.
The nominations are based on Billboard’s music charts from February 27, 2012 to February 24, 2013. Winners are determined by taking into account album sales and downloads, track downloads, radio airplay and touring as well as streaming and social interactions on Facebook, Twitter, Vevo, Youtube, Spotify and other popular online destinations for music. This year’s event is hosted by Tracy Morgan. Swift, Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, Miguel, and Prince are among the scheduled performers announced so far. The latter will be on hand to receive the prestigious Billboard Icon Award. Check out the nominations in the major categories below.
Forget Jem & The Holograms, it’s all about will.i.am and the Bieber hologram. I know our site has our fair share of will.i.am and Justin Bieber haters, so be forewarned. The Black Eyed Peas member is surrounded by multiple look-alikes, while the Biebs pop up as a ghostly hologram. I’m sure it’s every hater’s worst nightmare.
I’m not the biggest fan of either artist but I appreciate a high-concept well-executed clip. I can give props when warranted. I even half-debated writing this yesterday, but after watching it a few times, I decided to write a post about it.
Ben Mor directs the clip which is set in a futuristic Asian world. It’s all very I, Robot meets Star Wars. will.i.am sports his unflattering harem drop pants while meticulously executing robotic choreography. Meanwhile, Justin takes a page from Tupac’s Coachella appearance last year and only appears in holographic form. Check out the clip below.
No matter who you are, regardless of star status, everyone has their fair share of fans and haters. Celebrities just have more than most. Star magazine compiled a list of twenty celebrities who have more people loathing them, than adoring them. Check out which controversial singers, self-promoting reality TV stars and pretentious actors made the list.
Naturally, Chris Brown made the cut. Ever since assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna back in 2009, he’s been on many people’s hit list. His seemingly lack of remorse and douchey attitude hasn’t helped redeem his image. Surprisingly, the R&B singer lands at No. 20. Believe it or not, there are 19 other personalities more hated than him.
Kim Kardashian, whom I loathe, and mom-ager Kris Jenner only placed at 11th and 10th respectively. Anne Hathaway with her perceived faux humility and humbleness during the Oscar awards season earned her a No. 9 slot. Not even cheating Kristen Stewart with her surly and less-than-thrilled expressions snagged the top spot. She came up short in the runner-up slot. Find out who the “Most Hated Celebrity In Hollywood” is below and the rest of the Top 20.
Our first episode without Nic, waaaaah! Not going to lie when we got into the studio to film this episode it was a bit sad, but I think we totally managed. Without Nic there clogging up the airways Adam & I got to argue more. Let’s face it THAT is why you’re tuning in!
We talked about Justin Bieber and his meltdown, Lindsay Lohan and HER nonsense again because it’s funny.
Also Robin Thicke who I finally just had to say to Patrick that she needs to bring your relevant people to the panel. Robin Thicke? REALLY?!? Hardly news worthy with his desperate attempt at being edgy music video.
We ended with some movies and my new favorite show Golden Gays which you need to watch! Don’t forget we are looking for a new co host, so if you want to be a guest host one week shoot me an email firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll see if you’re a good fit! Enjoy our newest episode guys, and thanks for watching.
