Powerhouse DJs and producers Skrillex and Diplo joined forces, forming the new act, Jack Ü. We’ve already heard their Kiesza-assisted track, “Take Ü There”, and the accompanying remix featuring Missy Elliott. The duo took a page from Beyonce’s playbook and surprised their fans by uploading their collaborative effort on Soundcloud this week.
Their highly-anticipated debut titled, Skrillex and Diplo Present Jack Ü, features several guest appearances from the likes of AlunaGeorge, 2 Chainz, Kai and Justin Bieber.
I’m a little surprised writing this, but the Bieber-assisted “Where Are Ü Now” is an early favorite. Other standout tracks include “To Ü” and “Mind.” Stream their entire album below and weigh in afterward.
Any comedian worth his salt doesn’t need a target to deliver a successful hit aimed at Justin Bieber. The 20-year-old singer has plenty of ridiculous antics to choose from to poke fun at.
In a new promo for his roast, the Biebs grimaces while a tattoo artist inks a huge bullseye on his back. This follows on the heels of another clip where Justin is egged mercilessly.
Gotta give the kid credit for playing along and promoting the sh*t out for his Comedy Central special. I can’t wait to see what hilarious digs the talented jokesters come up with.
Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber hosted by Kevin Hart airs on Monday, March 30 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Check out the clip below.
Carly Rae Jepsen will most likely never reach the heights of “Call Me Maybe.” Both “This Kiss” and “Tonight I’m Getting Over You” were solid followups but failed to do any damage on the Billboard charts or on radio. According to her PR team though, her forthcoming single is as good or even better than “Call Me Maybe.” Talk about high expectations.
Earlier this week, the 29-year-old Canadian singer was spotted filming the music video on the streets of Soho, New York City. Joining her were Justin Bieber (not surprising) and Oscar winner Tom Hanks (talk about random.) Who knew that Hanks and her were such good buddies? I’m thinking Tom owes someone in Jepsen’s camp a huge favor ;)
Based on the short snippet, “I Really Like You,” has potential. It definitely has a catchy hook. Give it a sample below, along with getting a glimpse of Tom Hanks showing off his dance moves.
Back in January 2014, Justin Beiber received a sentence of two years probation and anger management classes for egging his neighbor’s home. Fittingly, the 20-year-old is the one being used as target practice this time.
The Biebs is mercilessly egged in a new promo for his Comedy Central Roast. “Watch Justin Bieber learn how poor, defenseless houses feel,” the video description states. It’s a good thing he never wears a shirt. Much easier clean up.
Kevin Hart gets the honor of presiding over the festivities. Be sure to catch The Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber on March 30. It should be a hilarious special. I’m always down for a good Bieber joke.
Ten years ago today would forever change the landscape of the Internet. YouTube was officially founded by three former PayPal employees. The first video, however, wasn’t upload until April 23, 2005 by one of the co-founders. If you’re curious, “Me At The Zoo” can still be viewed on the video-sharing website.
In honor of YouTube’s 10th anniversary, I’ve embedded the Top 10 viewed videos. The lowest garnering 796,000 to the cream of the crop with over 2 billion clocks. Not surprisingly, music dominates the list. Especially Katy Perry and PSY who both nab two entries each. The sole exception being “Charlie Bit My Finger – Again!.” Check out the most popular clips ever below.
Award season is officially underway! Even Grindr is getting in on the action. They recently released their best of 2013 year end list. From gay icon of the year (Neil Patrick Harris) to best comeback of the year (Netflix), users of the ubiquitous hookup app made their voice heard on a multitude of categories.
2013 was a banner year of celebrities coming out. Not surprisingly with all the headlines he generated, Wentworth Miller earned Grindr’s best coming out story. Solid choice. I was lucky enough to witness Miller’s first appearance after coming out at the HRC Gala Dinner in Seattle.
Along with revealing the best of the best in the past year, Grindr also weighed in on what they expect will be big and make headlines in 2014. Find out below who they think the next celebrity to come out is and what will become obsolete.
Last year, Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, Thailand was the most Instagrammed location. In 2013, it falls all the way to #9. Fret not Thai people, the top slot still remains within the country at Siam Paragon, a shopping mall in Bangkok earning the distinction as Most Instagrammed location of 2013. Random, right?
New to the list this year are Walt Disney World, High Line and Central Park in New York City and the Bellagio Fountains in Las Vegas. Au revoir Eiffel Tower, you’ve been bumped off the list. Coming up just short in second place is Times Square in New York. If it’s any consolation prize to the Big Apple, it came first on the social media’s most Instagrammed cities of the year list.
Check out the rest of the top locations below, along with stats about the most popular picture and holiday of the year.
What a difference a search engine makes. On Bing’s year-end list, Beyonce earned top honors for most searched celebrity in 2013. On Yahoo!, she doesn’t even rank in the Top 10. Taking not only the No. 1 slot as top-searched female celebrity but also top Yahoo search term overall is Miley Cyrus. Not at all surprising given all her headline-grabbing antics this year.
Cyrus beat out fellow celebrities for Yahoo!’s top honor. Kim Kardashian (#2), Kate Upton (#3) and Selena Gomez (#5) all just fell short. Gotta hand it to Kardashian. Regardless of what search engine, she’s near the top. She also landed the runner-up slot on Bing’s list, while Miley ranked at No. 9. Again I ask, who and why are people searching for Kimmy K?
Other top search terms in 2013 include Minecraft (#4), Obamacare (Affordable Care Act) (#6), Amanda Bynes (#7), Jodi Arias (#8), iPhone 5 (#9) and Justin Bieber (#10). Check out other Top 10 year-end lists from Yahoo! below.
