It’s the infamous Bronco chase that captivated viewers twenty-one years ago. Who could forget that indelible image of OJ Simpson driving down a Los Angeles freeway as dozens of police cars followed him from a distance? It truly was riveting.

American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson promises to bring viewers inside that white vehicle during the tense chase as Simpson held a gun to his head. “You saw the Bronco,” the brief clip reads. “But you weren’t in the Bronco.”

The ten-episode miniseries featuring an all-star cast including Cuba Gooding Jr, John Travolta, Sarah Paulson, David Schwimmer, Selma Blair and Connie Britton premieres February 2016 on FX. Check out the Bronco teaser below along with another new clip featuring OJ writing his suicide letter. I can’t wait for the Ryan Murphy series to premiere.

FOX Developing Urban Cowboy TV Series

In: Donovan, Movies, Music

Normally, the idea of any remake nauseates me, especially when it involves a classic. However, this one actually has me excited. Instead of trying to recapture the magic at the box office, FOX is bringing Urban Cowboy to television.

The series will follow the star-crossed relationship of Sissy and Bud as it unfolds against the gritty backdrop of rodeos, oil refineries, line dancing clubs and other aspects of modern-day Texas.

Adapting the John Travolta and Debra Winger classic for the small screen is a brilliant idea. Reportedly, the network is eying the project as a possible companion series for their mega-hit Empire. Given that the film is equally memorable for its soundtrack, this is a match made in heaven.

Are you looking forward to this potential series? I am. It’s going to be Empire meets Dallas meets Nashville. Check out a few of the memorable tracks from the film. My favorite is the Boz Scaggs track written by a young David Foster.

Poor John Travolta. The 59-year-old actor hasn’t had a hit in years. To supplement his income, he’s previously filmed a tacky Qantas safety video and now this. In his defense, he probably would’ve filmed this commercial for free given his shirtless co-stars. These sexy Brazilian men are definitely an upgrade from those skeezy male masseurs he was allegedly involved with.

In the commercial for Brazilian rum maker Cachaça, Travolta is seen strolling around Rio de Janeiro. Along the way, people recognize him but it isn’t until he sees hot boys playing on the beach til he decides to join in on the action. Before you know it, he’s kicking balls and dancing with shirtless beach boys. After that, they all head out for drinks which I’m sure John footed the bill for. Drunk straight boys are easy pickings, right? LOL. Check out Travolta’s liquor endorsement below.

The infamous Grease duo, Olivia Newton-John & John Travolta have reunited to release a Christmas album together titled, This Christmas and today they’ve just released the music video for one of the songs: “I Think You Might Like It.”

In the video, Travolta flies his plane home for Christmas where he is reunited with Olivia Newton-John, who drove to meet him in a convertible packed with presents. The two do a little line dancing throughout the video in black outfits, which feels like an homage to the outfits they wore in final scenes in Grease. Aside from John & Olivia, we also see clips of other families reuniting for the holidays, including some soldiers returning home as well.

In the final clip of the video, the two drive off in the convertible, with one last wave from Olivia. This is of course an homage to the final scene in Grease when Danny & Sandy drive off in the flying car.

Oh, along with the release of the music video, John and Oliva sat down with Ellen DeGeneres on her show today. Enjoy the cute (and cheesy) Christmas music video, as well as their segment on Ellen below.

Old School Flashback: Saturday Night Fever

In: Donovan, Music, TV Shows

After watching this week’s “Glee“, I just had to write about “Saturday Night Fever“. How much fun was that episode? I know some people really hate disco, but they can hate all they want. I love it and all the cheesy dance moves. Whether or not you were kicking around in the 70s, you’re probably still aware of several tracks from the iconic movie’s soundtrack. I wasn’t partying during the hey day of the disco ball era, but appreciate the impact the movie and music have had on pop culture. I’ve even been to a few disco-themed parties in my time. If you haven’t been to one, organize one now. They’re a groovy good time.

Before Whitney Houston and her “bodyguard” sang they’ll always love us, “Saturday Night Fever: The Original Movie Sound Track” was the top selling soundtrack of all time with over 15 million copies sold in the US and over 40 million worldwide. The “Queen of the Night” shattered that with 17 million domestic and 44 million worldwide sales. The disco album won Record of the Year at that year’s Grammys and is ranked at #131 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

Just like “The Bodyguard“, the “Saturday Night Fever” OST track listing was dominated by one musical act. In this instance, it was the Bee Gees with six tracks. The brother band became the poster boys of the disco movement along with the film’s leading man, John Travolta. Check out all the tracks below, along with my Top 5 favorites.

We Remember Jeff Conaway (Kenickie)

In: Celeb Gossip & News, Movies, Tyrell

On Friday at the age of 60, Jeff Conaway known for his role as Kenickie in the film Grease and Bobby Wheeler in Taxi was taken off life support and passed away. The New York native who was known to have a long history with substance abuse and drug addiction became a cautionary tale in Hollywood.

On May 11th, Conaway was checked into an LA hospital and on May 26th, doctors told Conaway’s family that there was no visible sign of brain activity. On Thursday, Jeff’s feeding tube was removed and Radar Online reported that Jeff was in no pain. Jeff Conaway had no children but was married twice. His first wife was Olivia Newton-John’s sister and they were together from 1980-1985. Jeff married again in 1990 to Kerri Young. The time and details of their divorce are unclear and were never really made public.

Jeff had tried to become sober many times but all attempts fell through. In 2008, he joined Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew. On Howard Stern’s radio show, Conaway admitted to attempting suicide over 21 times by using enough pills to “knock out an elephant.” At the time of his hospitalization, reports flooded the media that it was due to prescription drug overdose but Dr. Drew Pinsky revealed that he was actually suffering from pneumonia and sepsis, a dangerous blood infection. In his passing, many stars he was worked with have come forward to remember him including John Travolta and Marilu Henner.

John and Marilu’s words about Conaway after the jump.

In a press conference that took place this week for the upcoming film, “Gotti: Three Generations,” a surprise guest was in attendance: Lindsay Lohan (Oops, I mean just “Lindsay,” since she dropped her last name). The troubled Hollywood starlet is set to play Victoria Gotti, daughter of John Gotti who is going to be played by John Travolta (another Hollywood star that hasn’t been a stranger to scandal). The producer of the movie, Marc Fiore confirmed on Tuesday that they are in talks with Lohan, whom he referred to as “a terrific actress,” but a deal has not been finalized. I guess that also depends on whether or not she goes to jail.

As mentioned, Travolta (now 57 years old) is playing John Gotti, leader of the notorious Gambino crime family, known for evading his convictions. In 1992, the mobster was finally charged with murder and racketeering. He died in prison 10 years later.

It’s not Grease Lightening. It’s Qantas. “Tell me about it…stud,” Olivia Newton John says to John Travolta in on Grease. When Oprah would scream his name (“John Travoltaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!” the audience would go wild. Now, he does safety videos for Qantas Airlines? Well, he’s not getting the same reactions he used to.

The people who work for Qantas aren’t big fans of this video. Of course getting John Travolta to do this video, Qantas was obviously looking for his celebrity status to bring something to the table, but the crew that actually work on the flights feel have described the video as “cringe-worthy,” “corny” and “tacky“. I’m sorry, but aren’t all airline safety videos all of the above?

“We feel it’s demeaning to be called ‘the team,'” an employee told Daily Telegraph. “It makes us feel like we work at McDonald’s…The whole thing seems to make the safety message seem trite.”

Uh oh, now anyone that works at a fast food restaurant is going to be pissed with Quantas. Personally, I don’t think the word team means you work in fast food, and if you do, who cares. I’m sure someone else could be like, “Ew, don’t call us crew, you make us feel like we work on a plane,” you know? Anyway, watch the video after the jump…
