The trailer for a film called Cloud Atlas has just debuted the theatrical trailer and we’ve got your first look att eh star-studded film. The movie explores how the actions and consequences of individual lives impact one another throughout the past, the present and the future. It has action, mystery and romance throughout the story as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero and a single act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution in the distant future.
The film is based on the 2004 novel by David Mitchell and follows six storylines that span across different eras. The film cost over $100 million, making it the most expensive independently financed film ever.
The stellar cast includes: Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Jim Broadbent, Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, Doona Bae, Ben Whishaw, James D’Arcy, Zhou Xun, Keith David, David Gyasi, Susan Sarandon, and Hugh Grant. The film opens in theaters on October 26. Check out the trailer below.
I love a good fantasy/sci-fi movie and this upcoming flick and 100% piqued my interest. For those of you who don’t know about this, may I introduce you to Upside Down which stars the acting chops of Kirsten Dunst and the adorable, Jim Sturgess. He’s come a long way from Across The Universe huh? Here is a synopsis of this new film:
Adam (Sturgess) is a seemingly ordinary guy in a very extraordinary universe. He lives humbly trying to make ends meet, but his romantic spirit holds on to the memory of a girl he met once upon a time from another world, an inverted affluent world with its own gravity, directly above but beyond reach… a girl named Eve (Dunst). Their childhood flirtation becomes an impossible love. But when he catches a glimpse of grown up Eve on television, nothing will get in the way of getting her back… not even the laws of science.
So as you can see, the tale is a spin on the classic biblical teachings of Adam & Eve and Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet. The film was written and directed by Juan Diego Solanas who has previously only released two other French films. The film had a budget of $50 million dollars and it looks like they spent every penny wisely. Check out the trailer below.
