Quid pro quo. A month ago, Jennifer Lopez enlisted Flo Rida for “Goin’ In“, a track for the upcoming film “Step Up 4″. Now, it’s Flo Rida’s turn to snatch up J. Lo’s “powerhouse” vocals. The 32-year-old rapper utilized the “American Idol” judge’s baby-like voice for his new single, “Sweet Spot“. The track is a melodic catchy song from his fourth studio album, “Wild Ones”.
I have to say, I like this collaboration a lot more than “Goin’ In”. It’s far less frenetic and has more crossover radio appeal. Flo Rida plans to film a video for “Sweet Spot” in July. I wonder if J. Lo will appear in the clip. I would hope she does, considering Flo Rida already filmed his part for her track. Here’s what the rapper revealed in an interview regarding Lopez’s video:
“They had me performing around this Lamborghini,” he said. “It was really different ’cause there was one scene where I got on this treadmill and they had me running while performing my verse. I had a chance to look back at the video and it seemed like over the top.”
Over the top, you say. That doesn’t sound at all like a Jennifer Lopez video *wink*. “Sweet Spot” probably won’t reach the same heights as his collaboration with Sia on “Wild Ones“, but it’s a lot better than the follow up singles (Whistle, & Let It Roll) after “Wild Ones”. Listen to the track below and see if you agree.

Jennifer Lopez is set to release her “best of” album, titled ‘Dance Again…The Hits‘ and has just revealed the track list for both the standard and deluxe versions. As you’d expect, it features most of her biggest hits as well as a DVD with several of her music videos. Noticeably missing from her list of songs is “Play,” which I would consider one of her hits for sure.
The album also contains her new tracks, “Dance Again” and “Goin In“. The album is due on July 24. Check out the full track list below and share what your favorite JLo track is in the comments. Mine would be a toss up between “Waiting For Tonight” and “If You Had My Love“.
As a sidenote, over the weekend, RadarOnline posted about rumors that JLo’s boyfriend Casper Smart is gay. Apparently a former dancer friend of his posted some “gay” pictures, but after having seen them, the rumor seems absolutely ridiculous and the pictures prove nothing. Anyway, check out the tracklist below!

The growing fascination with celebrity culture and the chaos of the paparazzi has definitely become more of a topic of discussion over the past several years. Now, a new documentary film called ‘Sellebrity‘ explores just that. These celebrities complain about all the cameras, yet there is the argument that they need the cameras and the media in order to be famous. So where’s the line and when is it too far?
Many big name celebrities speak their mind in interviews contained in the documentary, including Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Lopez, Salma Hayek, Kid Rock, and Jennifer Aniston just to name a few. The documentary also explores the price we pay as a society for indulging our curiosity with celebrity gossip culture.
Check out the interesting Kevin Mazur-directed documentary below.

Recently, US Weekly reported Jennifer Lopez’s new boyfriend, Casper Smart, surprised her with a brand new tattoo on his body. Have any guesses on what new ink Casper received to show his love? Reportedly, he had Jennifer Lopez’s name tattooed on his penis. OUCH. I’m hurting just writing about it. Hopefully, he opted for J. Lo instead of her full name, Jennifer Lynn Lopez.
Looks like all the pain was worth it. Casper just landed another gig thanks to Jennifer’s name and connections. But before he goes out and celebrates, I just want to warn him about working with “Jenny from the Block”. While, there is no denying Lopez is one huge success, her collaborations with past lovers haven’t yielded the same results.
When she dated Ben Affleck, we were punished with “Gigli” and “Jersey Girl”. From her union with Marc Anthony came the huge bomb, “Q’Viva! The Chosen”. Even something as small as managing one of her restaurants can lead to pain. Just ask her first husband Ojani Nai who was fired from managing Madre’s. I’m sure Smart is hoping the same faith doesn’t befall him with his new venture. Find out what it is below.

On the finale of American Idol, judge and singer Jennifer Lopez performed her new single which features Flo Rida. Now, the studio version has surfaced and was debuted On Air with Ryan Seacrest this morning. The track will be featured on the soundtrack for the upcoming film, Step Up 4. The single is titled “Goin’ In” and no doubt is for the clubs. I absolutely LOVE IT and will be a great addition to everyone’s Memorial Day playlist. Get ready to get your grind on. The breakdown is fierce.
The catchy club banger was producer by GoonRock who has recently been most noted for creating huge hits for the party rockers themselves, LMFAO. He definitely pulled out all the stops for this new track with J Lo and Flo. I especially love some of the lyrics that Jennifer serves us like, “we’re going orangatang – bananas.” Classic J Lo. Flo Rida’s rap also adds to the track nicely while we hear Lil Jon throw his ad libs in there every now and again. Give a listen to the new track below and tell us what you think of J Lo’s newest dance floor anthem in the comments.

This is… AMERICAN IDOL!!! We’ve been watching and cringing for days, weeks, months and what seems like years now as one by one amazing (Elise Testone) and awful (DeAndre Brackensick) singers alike have been knocked off to make way for our final two contestants: Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez.
At this point in the game we’re all over the Ford commercials, the ever-fully posed and presented Coca Cola glass labels and the countless referencing and lack-luster “live” performances by previous Idol “winners” whose biggest show to put on their IMDB profile is typically a mall opening somewhere in middle america and for that reason I’m not going to ramble too much tonight but rather focus on the facts. Who will win: the Filipino princess or the scruffy young buck? As this season has been the most poorly and overly-produced of any I’ve ever seen, I wonder if the pushing we’ve seen in the past week to have another WGWG (whitey boy on his 6-string) take the gold will come to volition as he’s handed an amazing finale song (and final singing spot) on an ivory platter and as poor Jess is given some Kara DioGuardi-esque crap and left out to dry. Or, will the backlash from this corrupt posing bring out the Sanchez fans in full force? Hell, does it even matter when dialatune or whatever the hell it’s called can make 17,000 votes for you with a click of a button?? No matter what, both kids have been humble and sweet the entire time so however this ends I wish them the best and a pox on the house of exec producer Nigel Lythgoe. Let’s get to it!

FINAL NIGHT! First off, Tuesday? Really Idol? What’s up with these random Tuesday changeups? This is the second time you’ve thrown me for this loop and I am none too happy about it. At least I have a beautiful girl and sexy man to stare at all night as Phil Phillips and Jessica Sanchez duke it out as the Final Two on tonight’s last performance episode. Singing three songs each- their poor little vocal chords- the kids are laying it all on the line tonight as it all comes down to this. Hilariously, our “big side acts” tonight are Jason Derulo singing “Undefeated” and more awesomely Scotty McCreery, last year’s loser winner who will sing “Please Remember Me“… First off, HOW freaking funny is the title of that song considering this barely talented moonshine making’ yokel has done NOTHING with his title of “America’s Idol” this past year. Oh no wait, he miss-lipsynched at some parade and it was embarrassingly captured on YouTube for the world to see. Slow clap there Southern Sam! Second, let’s take a minute to compare finale live show performances (albeit this is the second to last episode I doubt tomorrow will be much better): Idol gets Scotty McWHO? and The Voice gets frickin’ Justin Bieber? Kill yourself Nigel Lythgoe.
It’s been on the radio and news for a while now that people everywhere are strongly hoping this will be a woman’s year since no girl has won since Jordan Sparks in 2007; that’s five years of WGWG (white guys with guitars) and just what have those guys produced? Dick all, I’d argue! I’ve had my crush on for Phil for a good while now but honestly, I’m all about the ladies at this point and she’s my pick going into this evening. So, without further adieu, let’s see what they have for us tonight as they sing live from the Nokia Theatre in Hollywood!

So.damn.close.
It’s been grueling these past elimination weeks as top picks and sellable acts have been getting the boot time after time as Idol seems to control every aspect of our lives and our votes (well, not mine: I’m canadian, but you get what I’m saying). We’ve been deconstructing judges motivation, exposing panning shots and ridiculous production and styling choices, and most importantly the fine print at the end of each episode that gives us a big middle finger and declares: “We [Nigel Lythgoe and his flying monkey minions] are gonna pick whomever the frig we feel like, so suck it… and keep buying coca cola.” Still, we stay tuned to see the talent. Not to watch the dumb light show in the background or pay ANY attention to the extreme and outrageous claims of “perfect and unparalleled performances” by the judging panel, but to hear that one-off amazing song that keeps us interested and wanting to root for our favourites.
Tonight we get the musical stylings of past runner up Adam Lambert who felt the sting of Idol manipulation and lost to a WGWG (“white guy with guitar”: an expression I learned from you all commenting on my articles, thank you!) who couldn’t sell himself out of a paper bag. Tonight the out and proud man-diva will be performing “Never Close Our Eyes“, on top of which we’ll get the “singing stylings” or Lisa Marie Presley (seriously… why?). Like matching “Songs of the 60s” with “Songs from Today” Idol once again misses the mark and I shake my head in wonder at how this show still survives. You heard me rant that Joshua Ledet just didn’t have it last night despite the rantings of his biggest fan Randy, that Jessica Sanchez is getting back on her game and should win but not exactly with a perfect 10 score and that Phil Phillips though with an amazing night isn’t exactly what I would call America’s IDOL… all in all, this year isn’t knocking me over and I only hope next week we get something stellar or I might have to officially check out. Let’s see who’s going home tonight!
