Two our favorite comedies are back! Hopefully you had time to watch the season premieres of Modern Family & Cougar Town last night. They were both satisfyingly funny which proves promising for another season full of laughs.

“I’ll be there for you, cuz you’re there for me too….” It’s a “FRIENDS” reunion in this season premiere of Cougar Town and Jennifer Aniston guest stars as Jules’ crazy therapist, Glenn. Grayson wants a little room to breath in her relationship with Jules, while her son Travis is prepares to move away to school. Plenty to talk about with Glenn.

The episode is pretty funny and I loved Aniston’s character. She seems normal enough, but we come to find that she has more than a few screws loose: She burns sage during therapy sessions, wears a crystal around her neck to prevent cancer, and she made her dog get his First Communion. Overall, it was a good episode, but not even close to as many laughs that I got from Emmy Award winning Modern Family’s earthquake of an episode.

Some of my favorite lines & what I thought of Modern Family’s premiere after the jump…

“I’ll be there for you…” Boy, didn’t The Rembrandts score the lottery with that song. Real-life BFFs, Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston, are together again for “Cougar Town’s” Season 2 premiere. ABC just released photos of the former “Friends” stars’ pseudo reunion.

This isn’t the first time one of Cox’s “Friends” has shown up on the cul-de-sac. Lisa Kudrow played a dermatologist during her guest star stint last Fall. Now, it’s Rachel Jennifer’s turn to play a member of the medical profession. Aniston will play Cox’s too-good-too-be-true therapist. The two become fast friends (talk about art imitating life), which causes the ire of Cox’s Cougar Town BFF, Ellie (Christa Miller). Hell hath no fury like Ellie scorned.

Jennifer Aniston Heads To Cougar Town

Best FRIENDS, Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston will reunite on television once again! ABC has confirmed that the leading lady the actress will be appearing with her former co-star Courteney Cox on the September 23rd season premiere of Cougar Town. I love it!

As you know, this isn’t the first time they’ve reunited. The first time they were together on TV again was back in 2007, Aniston guest starred of Cox’s FX dramedy Dirt. After Friends, Aniston went onto become a leading lady for romantic comedies while Cox (other than Scream), has focused mainly on television.

Who will she be playing?

Movie Review: The Switch

In: Donovan, Movies

From the people who brought you “Juno” and “Little Miss Sunshine“, comes this laugh out loud and heartwarming irreverent romantic comedy. While most films in the genre are from the female point of view, “The Switch” is narrated from the male point. You might say it’s a roMANtic comedy. The film stars Jason Bateman and Jennifer Aniston, who was one of the executive producers.

Kassie Singleton (Jennifer Aniston) decides she wants to have a baby. Despite the objections of her neurotic best friend Wally (Jason Bateman), she chooses to do it alone, with the services of handsome and charming sperm donor Roland (Patrick Wilson). Wally has always had feelings for Kassie, but as his friend (Jeff Goldblum) points out, he missed his chance and she put him in the “friend zone”. But things don’t go to plan, as Wally gets so drunk at Kassie’s “insemination party” that he accidentally spills Roland’s semen and replaces it with his own.

At first you might think and groan that it’s another cookie-cutter Jennifer Aniston rom-com. But to dismiss it like that would be an injustice to yourself. Sure “The Switch” follows certain conventions regarding the leads, but it’s well written and inserts a few obstacles you wouldn’t expect. Instead of relying on cliche gags, the comedy works due to the pitch-perfect performance from Jason Bateman. Even though Aniston shares the marquee, I would almost say her role is a supporting one instead of lead. Because it’s all about Bateman.

Aniston vs. O’Reilly: You Go Girl!

In: Celeb Gossip & News, Patrick

I’ve always been Team Aniston, and in this match it’s no different!

Recently, Jennifer Aniston was interviewed, promoting her film The Switch, which is about Artificial Insemination. She said, “Women are realizing more and more that you don’t have to settle, they don’t have to fiddle with a man to have that child.” Fair statement. But not to Bill O’Reilly

“Be fair about this…She’s throwing a message out to 12-year-olds and 13-year-olds that hey, you don’t need a dad! Dad, eh, you know. That’s destructive to society.”

Jennifer Aniston says to People in response:

“Of course, the ideal scenario for parenting is obviously two parents of a mature age. Parenting is one of the hardest jobs on earth. And, of course, many women dream of finding Prince Charming (with fatherly instincts), but for those who’ve not yet found their Bill O’Reilly, I’m just glad science has provided a few other options.”

Man, I love her. Always have, always will.

Check out O’Reilly’s douchie statements to see what sparked that witty response…

From Friends To Funny Girl

In: Celeb Gossip & News, Patrick

One of Hollywood’s top earning actresses, Jennifer Aniston, pays homage to icon Barbra Streisand in the latest issue, “Funny Girls,” in Harper’s Bazaar. The result? Some absolutely stunning photos of Aniston that are bang on in replicating some breathtaking photos of from 68 year old Streisand’s past.

Aniston has been a huge fan of hers for some time and finally got to meet her a few years ago and she was everything she had imagined her to be in person, and so much more. The inspiration for doing an homage to Barbra Streisand actually came from her hairstylist of 20 years, Chris McMillan, who uses 41 year old Aniston as his Barbie Doll for his creations.

Jennifer Aniston’s upcoming movie is called “The Switch.” It’s a sperm-donor comedy starring her and the hilarious & handsome Jason Bateman. After that, she’s onto what I’m sure will be another huge hit, with a film called “Just Go With It,” alongside Adam Sandler and Nicole Kidman. This woman is not slowing down anytime soon. PS: I’ve always been on Team Aniston. :)

Sandra Bullock Makes The Most Moolah

In: Celeb Gossip & News, Patrick

What a roller-coaster year it’s been for Sandra Bullock who won her first Oscar only to find out her husband had been cheating on her, only to find that the world had her back and she would rise above it all a stronger & wealthier woman.

Well, after her two successful films this year, The Proposal and The Blind Side, Bullock is raking it in more than any other Hollywood actress. Between June 2009 and June 2010, Sandra Bullock tops Forbes top female earners, garnering a whopping $56 million, AKA more than the lottery. She beat out Cameron Diaz and Reese Witherspoon who both made approximately $32 million, Jennifer Aniston at $27 million, and Sarah Jessica Parker with $25 million.

How does Forbes figure all of this out? They talk to agents, managers, producers and lawyers. They also take into account the dough that stars may or may not get from perfume or clothing lines, as well as from ad campaigns.

Let me preface this review by saying I’m a sucker for romantic-comedies and they have to be excruciatingly bad for me to not like them. Two come to mind immediately, “Must Love Dogs” starring Diane Lane and “The Wedding Date” with Debra Messing. God those movies sucked hardcore. While a majority of the reviews have not been the most favorable for “The Bounty Hunter”, I’m going to against the grain and state, “I liked it”.

Was it Masterpiece Theater? Hell to the no, it’s starring Jennifer Aniston. But then again, just a few years ago, you could’ve inserted Sandra Bullock in lieu of Aniston in the same context, and now you have to add the adjective Oscar winner in front of Bullock’s name. When it comes to most rom-coms, you have to throw common logic out the window and take it for what it is. Having said that, I quite enjoyed it and thought it was perfect for my little date night with Brian. Check after the jump to see what I liked and disliked about the movie.
