Jordin Sparks Cozies Up To Jason Derulo For Glamour

In: Donovan, Music

Jordin Sparks is absolutely beaming in her spread for the February 2013 issue of Glamour magazine. Must be the fact she’s in love. She definitely has the glow about her. The American Idol Season 6 winner brought along her boyfriend Jason Derulo to show off the hottest date night beauty looks. The Sparkle actress cozies up with her beau for photographer Patric Shaw. They could possibly be the cutest celebrity couple around.

Loving Jordin’s hair in the editorial. It’s big, playful and untamed. I’m not alone in diggin’ her hairstyle. Derulo does as well. “She transforms herself with it,” he tells the publication. “I give her names for the people she becomes. When her hair is in a bun, I call her Simone. When it’s curly, I call her Chiquita.” Derulo goes on to share other traits he loves about her, along with opening up about their first dates. Check out more photos from their adorable photo shoot below.

FINAL NIGHT! First off, Tuesday? Really Idol? What’s up with these random Tuesday changeups? This is the second time you’ve thrown me for this loop and I am none too happy about it. At least I have a beautiful girl and sexy man to stare at all night as Phil Phillips and Jessica Sanchez duke it out as the Final Two on tonight’s last performance episode. Singing three songs each- their poor little vocal chords- the kids are laying it all on the line tonight as it all comes down to this. Hilariously, our “big side acts” tonight are Jason Derulo singing “Undefeated” and more awesomely Scotty McCreery, last year’s loser winner who will sing “Please Remember Me“… First off, HOW freaking funny is the title of that song considering this barely talented moonshine making’ yokel has done NOTHING with his title of “America’s Idol” this past year. Oh no wait, he miss-lipsynched at some parade and it was embarrassingly captured on YouTube for the world to see. Slow clap there Southern Sam! Second, let’s take a minute to compare finale live show performances (albeit this is the second to last episode I doubt tomorrow will be much better): Idol gets Scotty McWHO? and The Voice gets frickin’ Justin Bieber? Kill yourself Nigel Lythgoe.

It’s been on the radio and news for a while now that people everywhere are strongly hoping this will be a woman’s year since no girl has won since Jordan Sparks in 2007; that’s five years of WGWG (white guys with guitars) and just what have those guys produced? Dick all, I’d argue! I’ve had my crush on for Phil for a good while now but honestly, I’m all about the ladies at this point and she’s my pick going into this evening. So, without further adieu, let’s see what they have for us tonight as they sing live from the Nokia Theatre in Hollywood!

Jason Derulo “Fights For You” While Showering

In: Donovan, Music

It’s Jason Deruuuuuuuulo. Whenever I hear his name, I can’t help but hear the auto-tuned saying of his name. The 22-year-old singer just debuted the music video for “Fight For You“, the third single from his album “Future History“. While not a bomb, his sophomore effort hasn’t matched the same success as his self-titled debut album. That album spawned three Top 10 Billboard hits. Perhaps third time is a charm and “Fight For You” will break into Top 10.

Super producer RedOne worked on the ballad with Derulo, marking their first collaboration together. It features a sample of Toto’s 1982 hit “Africa“. The steamy (literally) video captures Derulo performing his signature dance moves, riding a subway, singing on a rooftop and showing off his toned body in a steamy shower for two. The track has potential and with a visual now released, it has that extra promotional push to vault it higher on the charts. Check out the video below.

Jason Derulo only released his sophomore album Future History in September but it’s already produced four singles for the singer. His latest titled Breathing is more of a risk for the usual four on the floor, R&B meets dance floor pop vocalist. The synths are a little bit rougher and the hook with the modulated chorus of vocals is more edgy than we’re used to from Derulo. However, I’m totally digging the track. The track was produced by DJ Frank E who is responsible for Chris Brown’s F.A.M.E. album and has also worked with the likes of Pitbull and Enrique Iglesias.

Jason brought on video director Colin Tilley to helm the project who recently worked with Derulo on his video for It Girl. The video definitely takes a walk on Jason’s darker side as we see the singer wear a gas mask in a dark and abandoned warehouse of sorts. Jason also takes the opportunity to show off his chiseled bod and glow blue while his insides light up. Jason also shows off his impecable dance moves in between clips of him simulating a seizure in an electric chair. Overall, a whole lot of new stuff going for Jason, but does it work? Watch the video below and tell us what you think.

R&B songster Jason Derulo has released his third single from the album Future History and I absolutely love it. The track titled Pick Up the Pieces reminds of the Jason Derulo that we were first introduced to when he hit the music scene a few years back.

The song tells the story of heartbreak as Jason begs the girl he’s singing to to Pick Up The Pieces of their relationship. The song has a great beat and is lyrically sound. I cannot wait for the video and hope that Colin Tilley once again helms the project for Derulo. Look out for Jason’s new album Future History when it becomes available on September 16th.

Jason Derulo has released his second single from his album Future History titled “It Girl” and despite many critics hating on the song, I actually really like it! The song starts off with this little whistle hook that I know is going to be in my head all day tomorrow. As a whole, the song has more of a laid-back feel compared to his previous single Don’t Wanna Go Home, and I like that Jason is showing that he doesn’t only do club jams.

The video is directed by superstar Colin Tilley who has also worked with the likes of Keri Hilson and other R&B superstars helmed the project. While I am a fan of the song, I am not the biggest fan of the video. The style slips in and out of black and white and color and I wish that they would have just picked one. Sometimes a video can make or brake a song for me and this time, the video didn’t amplify the song in anyway. However, give the video a watch and tell us what you think.

Last night, we were treated to the 2011 Teen Choice Awards hosted by The Big Bang Theory’s resident hottie Kaley Cuoco. The kick off the night, all of the Kardashians including Kylie and Kendall Jenner introduce the night’s DJ, will.i.am who plays what I am assuming is a track from his upcoming album. The song is called Party Animal and it’s kind of only medium. The best part was when it transitioned into Party Rock Anthem. What made the opening performance so random were the groups of fans bouncing around on stage. Super distracting.

Once Kaley hits the stage, the show continues on almost as awkwardly as it began as she cruises the crowd to find the smartest teen. She first stops on Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey and then finally ends on a semi-unsuspecting teen girl who says her favorite show is Make It or Break It instead of The Big Bang Theory. Thankfully, the awards begin and we are saved from the awkward writing and hosting from Ms. Cuoco. Check out the night’s winners and musical performance videos below.

Norwegian Recycling is back with another amazing music video mashup called “Kiss“. The work that goes into making these mashups is insane and the finished product of his videos simply blow my mind. You’ll really enjoy this one, featuring a little bit of old with a little bit of new. Here are the songs he samples in this latest video:

Samples:
1. Sixpence None The Richer – Kiss Me
2. Bruno Mars – Just The Way You Are
3. Maroon 5 – She Will Be Loved
4. Savage Garden – Crash And Burn
5. Jason Derulo – In My Head
6. Jason Derulo – What If

It’s such a sexy cocktail of male voices to compliment Sixpence None The Richer’s “Kiss Me” chorus. Check it out below and let us know what you think!
