In: Patrick, Sports & Health, Totally GAY!

Well, we’re now into the final stretch of the Sports Stud 2012 Showdown and we have a group of ten finalists based on your votes for you to choose from. If you haven’t voted in our Man Crush and Model Behavior finals (although I think most of you have – LOL), be sure to do so as well!

There were so many hotties all year long – I’m so glad that I actually don’t have to determine a winner… that’s your job. Any of the guys below could be the top pick so I have no idea how it’s going to turn out. As a side note, as we move into the New Year, feel free to leave suggestions in comments for athletes you’d like to see us cover in these weekly posts. I have done a few years worth of these posts so for some of the well known athletes, chances are I have covered them. That being said, share anyway because there are so many more men to tackle in 2013 ;) Happy voting!

Sports Stud 2012 Showdown: Round 2

In: Patrick, Sports & Health, Totally GAY!

The Sports Stud 2012 Showdown is well under way now, with the first round completed. The winner of round one was yummy soccer player, Lance Parker, who happened to be my first Sports Stud of the year in 2012. I had a feeling when I wrote that one that he was going to be a contender in the end. In second place was sexy volleyball player, J.P. Calderon whom you know best from Survivor.

With Round 1 completed, it’s time to move on to the second batch of boys. There are a lot of hot ones in this group as well so it’ll be interesting to see who comes out on top. The details of how the winner will be determined in the end are once again listed below.

Who else is going through swimming withdrawal? The second week of the Olympics isn’t the same without my nightly fix of hot guys with swimmer builds. Since quitting cold turkey is never a good idea, I thought I’d drool over the Olympic swimmers one more time. I figure if divers, gymnasts and wrestlers were all ranked on Homorazzi, it was about time swimmers did as well.

Given that there are way too many swimmers to go through, I decided to base my Top 15 Hottest Male Swimmers rankings solely on those who won a medal at the 2012 London Olympics. If they didn’t make the podium, they weren’t in contention. So, please no angry comments how I erroneously neglected your favorites. That said, I would love to know which swimmers were your favorites that didn’t win a medal. It doesn’t hurt to look at gorgeous also-rans. Without further ado, let the games begin.

I’m a self-professed Olympic fanatic. Every since I was a child, I’ve been fascinated with both the Summer and Winter editions. With the London 2012 Games just around the corner, I’ve been keeping informed with all the hoopla surrounding the sporting event. For the past few days, I’ve been riveted to the US Olympic trials for both the swimming and gymnastics disciplines. There’s no denying US swimmer Ryan Lochte is one good-looking guy, but he has some serious competition in the pool for eye candy honors.

Given that Australia is surrounded by water, it should come as no surprise that the nation boasts one of the best swimming teams around. Not only are they athletic, but they’re not to shabby to look at either. If the gold medal was given based on hotness factor, these Aussies are definitely frontrunners. Eamon Sullivan, James Roberts, James Magnussen and Matt Targett showed off their speedos and toned abs for a series of photos. The foursome, in the above pic, along with Matt Targett and Tommaso d’Orsogna were snapped for a Baywatch-inspired shoot on Sydney’s famed Manly Beach.

The Magnussen-led Australian team is setting its sights on a first gold in the relay event since the famous victory in Sydney 2000, led by Ian Thorpe and Michael Klim. The US team won the prestigious event at the Beijing Olympics four years ago. Check out the Aussie team up close and personal in several photos below.

Sports Stud: James Magnussen

In: Patrick, Sports & Health, Totally GAY!

This week I thought I’d make another splash with an Olympic hottie from the upcoming 2012 Summer Olympics in London. James Magnussen is a 21-year-old swimmer from Australia who has won a total of five medals in major international competitions. These include three golds and two silvers spanning the World Championships, Commonwealth Games, and the Pan Pacific Championships.

His stroke is freestyle, for which he holds the record for the 4th fastest swim in history in the 100-meter freestyle with a time of 47.10. Wowza! I used to be a competitive swimmer myself… and that’s fast!

At the upcoming Olympics, he’s planning on competing in the 50-meter freestyle, 100-meter freestyle, and the 4×100-meter freestyle and medley relay. Check out his amazing body in the photos below and be sure to keep your eyes out for him during the Games!
