We’re finally down to our last showdown, with the winners for our Model Behavior and Man Crush Showdowns were announced earlier this week. Last year, the winner for the Sports Stud was Australia rugby player, Daniel Conn.

This year’s winner is both similar and different to last year’s and it isn’t who I thought was going to win. That being said, I’m very happy with the outcome and think he’s totally worthy of the title. Although there are only three athletes that made it to the end, there were countless hotties featured on the site in 2012 and many more to come in 2013.

We’ve featured many athletes over the past few years, but if there’s someone that we haven’t featured before that you think would be great, feel free to let us know! Also, thank you to all of the athletes for being such good “sports” with these features. Without further delay, find out who the winner is and who came second and third below.

Well, we’re now into the final stretch of the Sports Stud 2012 Showdown and we have a group of ten finalists based on your votes for you to choose from. If you haven’t voted in our Man Crush and Model Behavior finals (although I think most of you have – LOL), be sure to do so as well!

There were so many hotties all year long – I’m so glad that I actually don’t have to determine a winner… that’s your job. Any of the guys below could be the top pick so I have no idea how it’s going to turn out. As a side note, as we move into the New Year, feel free to leave suggestions in comments for athletes you’d like to see us cover in these weekly posts. I have done a few years worth of these posts so for some of the well known athletes, chances are I have covered them. That being said, share anyway because there are so many more men to tackle in 2013 ;) Happy voting!

Sports Stud 2012 Showdown: Round 2

In: Patrick, Sports & Health, Totally GAY!

The Sports Stud 2012 Showdown is well under way now, with the first round completed. The winner of round one was yummy soccer player, Lance Parker, who happened to be my first Sports Stud of the year in 2012. I had a feeling when I wrote that one that he was going to be a contender in the end. In second place was sexy volleyball player, J.P. Calderon whom you know best from Survivor.

With Round 1 completed, it’s time to move on to the second batch of boys. There are a lot of hot ones in this group as well so it’ll be interesting to see who comes out on top. The details of how the winner will be determined in the end are once again listed below.

Now that the men’s team competition is over, I thought it was the perfect time to objectify the London 2012 Olympic male gymnasts. Like many of you, I’ve been glued to my television the past few days marveling at their death-defying tricks and display of tremendous strength. That said, I did find it hard to stay focused on their routines sometimes given how hot a few of them are. My mind tended to wander off to la la land. And by la la land, you know what I mean.

Even though the first set of medals have been handed out at the North Greenwich Arena, there is still plenty of men’s gymnastics left on the program. You have the individual all-around plus all the apparatus events to contest. If you haven’t seen some of my ranked studs as of yet, you’ll definitely be seeing them in the coming days. Without further ado, let the hottie Olympics begin.

Sports Stud: Jake Dalton

In: Patrick, Sports & Health, Totally GAY!

There’s a lot of buzz surrounding Summer Olympics hopeful, Jake Dalton so he seems like the obvious choice for this week’s Sports Stud. He’s very close to being selected to be part of Team USA, but on his recent competition on the pommel horse he didn’t do as well as most of the other competitors. That being said, his chances now lie in how well he does in floor, vault and rings.

The 20-year-old (almost 21) won the NCAA men’s gymnastics floor and vault titles in 2011. He was the U.S. National Vault champion in 2009 and 2011, and the Floor Champion in 2011 and the All-Around Gold medallist of the Winter Cup Challenge in 2011. He’s 5’5″ (my height), and built like a rock.

I’ve included several videos from earlier this year that can give you an idea of what this guy is capable of. Best of luck to him in qualifying for the Olympics. He’ll find out very soon! Check out the pictures and videos below.
