I just got around to watching Glee’s latest episode now. I ended up going out way too late last night. Nic was back in town, plus Brian had a colleague visiting as well. Naturally, I had to play host and head out on the town. Always a team player ;)
Based on the ratings last night, not many of you caught “A Katy or A Gaga.” The Fox show tied a series low. In all honesty, this season is a little off. Mostly likely due to the untimely death of Cory Monteith. I haven’t been at all engaged with any of the storylines. I tune out for most off the show with exception to the musical performances. They’re the best part of the show.
Last night’s “Roar” and “Applause” covers were hilarious and sexy. The facial reactions of the cast plus the shirtless moments of Jacob Artist, Blake Jenner and Chord Overstreet made them thoroughly entertaining but for very different and obvious reasons. Check them out below.
For their back to school ad campaign, Abercrombie & Fitch handpicked a group of up-and-coming actors to model their overpriced clothing. I haven’t been inside an Abercrombie & Fitch store in eons so I’m glad these images have made their way online. Otherwise, I would’ve never laid my eyes on these Bruce Weber-snapped portraits.
This year’s cast includes Jacob Artist (Glee), Emayatzy Corinealdi (Middle of Nowhere), Scott Eastwood (Texas Chainsaw 3D), Johnny Ferro (Children of God), James Frecheville (Adore), Taylor Handley (Chasing Mavericks), Ashley Hinshaw (Chronicle), Alex Kaluzhsky (The Taking of Pelham 123), Alexander Ludwig (Vikings), Lily Rabe (American Horror Story), and Halston Sage (Grown Ups 2). In addition, several high-profile canines also made the cut. Uggie (The Artist), Popeye (Skateboarding American Bulldog), Julio (Skateboarding English Bulldog), and Carrie (“The Dancing Dog”) are also featured in the campaign to promote Abercrombie & Fitch‘s new A&F Jeans Collection.
“Identifying talent during the early stages of their careers has been something we have always been excited to be a part of,” Mike Jeffries, Chairman and CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch shared. “We enjoyed working with these 11 actors selected for this campaign and look forward to watching them flourish in their careers.”
Check out the images below. Artist, Eastwood and Kaluzhsky look pretty damn fine.
A Valentine’s Day-themed episode actually airing on February 14! Timing doesn’t get any better than that. Expect Ryan Murphy and company to inundate you with plenty of over-the-top romantic gestures. It’s only been four seasons in the making, but Will (Matthew Morrison) and Emma (Jayma Mays) finally tie the knot. There isn’t a grander gesture than saying “I do.” Appropriately enough, that’s the title of this week’s Glee episode.
Love isn’t just reserved for the adults, but it also trickles down to the young cast as well. With everyone coming back to Lima for the big event, does this mean Rachel (Lea Michele) and Finn (Cory Monteith) rekindle their romance? I hope not. I’m not ready to say goodbye to gratuitous shots of Brody (Dean Geyer) just yet.
Speaking of cuties, my new favorite, Jake (Jacob Artist) decides to serenade his valentine based on his buddy Ryder’s (Blake Jenner) advice. Jake duets with Marley (Melissa Benoist) on Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s “You’re All I Need to Get By.” Love that track. Method Man and Lauryn Hill’s cover of it during the 90s is one of my all-time favorite hip-hop collaborations. Check out Jake & Marley’s duet below, along with a couple of clips from Glee’s Valentine’s Day episode.
Hot off the heels of my interview with the lovely and talented Katie Findlay from The Carrie Diaries comes the movie trailer for “The Philosophers.” Katie mentioned the movie in our interview together and now that I’ve seen the trailer for it I’m waiting with bated breathe until it’s release. As for a release date I couldn’t track down any solid day other that hopefully soon in 2013.
The film boasts quite the array of actors. Along side Katie we have James D’Arcy (Cloud Atlas, Hitchcock), Daryl Sabara who you might recognize as Juni from the Spy Kids movies, George Blagden from the recent big screen adaptation of Les Misérables, Harry Potter alum Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) as well as Freddie Stroma (Cormac McLaggen) who is also know as the drool worthy radio DJ Luke from Pitch Perfect, and Jacob Artist (the devilishly good looking Jake Puckerman on Glee).
Find out what the film is about and check out the newly released trailer below.
After months of hype, Glee‘s “Naked” episode finally aired. While there was no full-frontal (obviously), there was a lot more skin than I had expected. And for that Ryan Murphy, I thank you on everyone’s behalf. There were shower scenes, manscaping tutorials, bicep battles and lots of closeups on Chord Overstreet’s body. Poor guy, must’ve not eaten for days and hit the gym hardcore for this episode. He was certainly on display.
But beyond all the gratuitous exploitation, the episode provided stellar performances. There wasn’t a bum one out of the bunch. Rachel’s duet with herself was filmed brilliantly. Jake Puckerman’s ballad rendition of a dance track was stunningly breathtaking. And seeing Santana and Quinn return to sing with Rachel was great to see. The OGs back in the house.
With all that said, I’m sure the one that you’ll all love is the video featuring the boys working on their fitness. While getting in tip-top camera ready shape for New Directions’ “Men of McKinley” calendar, Sam, Ryder, Jake, Joe and Blaine shook what their respective mama’s gave them while performing a wicked mashup. I wonder if Ryan Murphy will make the calendar available. I’m sure it will sell, even though it’s already February. Check out all the performances below. You won’t be disappointed.
Must be a hazing ritual on the set of Glee. Let’s get the newest guy to show off his pecs and make then bounce to promote the next episode. Anything to generate ratings, right? At long last, the FOX musical’s highly-anticipated “Naked” episode airs this Thursday. Truth be told, next to Dean Geyer, Blake Jenner is right up there of whose chesticles I want jiggling for me ;) You can tell it’s not his first time doing this.
Now that New Directions is back in competition, money must be raised to compete at Regionals. Thanks to the brilliant idea of Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz), the “men” of McKinley High bare all for a titillating calendar. We saw a sneak peek back in December courtesy of Ryan Murphy’s Twitter, but in just a few days we’ll have the final product. Check out the promo below of Jenner bouncing his pecs in the McKinley High locker room.
Back in December, Ryan Murphy tweeted a couple images that had many people thinking that a sexy Glee calendar was on the way. Turns out that it’s sorta true. On an upcoming episode titled “Naked” airing on January 31, fans can expect lots of gratuitous skin being shown.
In an effort to raise money for Regionals (yup, New Directions are back in competition), the boys decide to take off their clothes and pose for cheesy shirtless pictures for “The Men of McKinley High” calendar. Based on the photos it looks like Jake (Jacob Artist) and Ryder (Blake Jenner) pose for October and July respectively. Poor Joe (Samuel Larsen) gets a bum deal. He gets saddled with Easter. Check out his costume below.
If you thought the theme of nakedness was limited just to Lima, Ohio, you’re wrong. Over in New York City, Rachel (Lea Michele) faces a dilemma on whether to shed her clothes for a part in a student film. Hopefully, Brody (Dean Geyer) is in the same predicament. Fans are long overdue for another shower scene featuring the hot Aussie. Check out photos from the upcoming episode below.
Who knew the kids at McKinley High had superpowers? To promote Glee‘s upcoming “Dynamic Duets” episode, the cast posed for an alter ego photo shoot for Entertainment Weekly. Blaine (Darren Criss) looks pretty damn fierce as his superhero persona Nightbird. Work that cape, you little homo ;)
Sadly, Brody Weston (Dean Geyer) isn’t decked out in revealing tights showing off his muscles and ‘love muscle‘. I guess only the New Directions crew got to participate in the playful shoot. Or perhaps, Ryan Murphy thought viewers weren’t ready for all that bootylicious jelly. I speak on behalf of all of us, Murphy… we’re definitely ready and then some ;)
Just in case you were wondering what’s going down for the FOX show’s “Dynamic Duets” episode, here’s the 411. The love triangle between Jake Puckerman (Jacob Artist), Ryder (Blake Jenner) and Marley (Melissa Benoist) heat up. Personally, I would choose Jake in a heartbeat. The younger Puckerman is super sexy. Meanwhile, Blaine has a run-in with the Dalton Academy Warblers which means we get to meet the new Warbler.
Without further ado, check out the Glee gang go POW, BAM and SHAZAM for Entertainment Weekly’s camera below.
