Olympic Hottie of the Day: Ryan St. Onge

In: Patrick, Sports & Health

He’ll be jumping 11th tomorrow night in the medal event for the final of Men’s Aerials, against Canadian Hotties Steve Omischl, Kyle Nissen, and Warren Shouldice. He’s a serious contender for the gold medal, since he won the gold medal in the men’s aerials event at the 2009 World Championships. I love his motto: “Go big, jump well and either win or get last.” He started skiing when he was 9 years old, and was influenced by his parents who were also into the sport. It was definitely a family affair – his brother used to be a US Ski Team member, so he wanted to do what his brother did. The whole fam would travel together on these ski competitions so it was a big part of his life. At his first Olympics in 2006 Turin, he finished 16th in the aerial events, whereas he has a good chance to medal at the Vancouver 2010 final even tomorrow night.

Here are some of his stats:

Height: 5′ 8″
Weight: 165 lbs)
Birthdate: February 7, 1983
Age: 27
Residence: Winterpark, USA

Some of his hobbies include mountain biking, scuba diving, sailing, traveling, rocketry and listening to books on tape.

Twenty five year old Ted Ligety was born August 31, 1984 and is from in Salt Lake City, Utah. He’s an an alpine ski racer with the U.S. Ski Team and doing really well at this year’s 2010 Winter Olympics! At the last Olympic Games in 2006, he was a gold medalist and he may in fact do it again. On top of that, he has 5 World Cup victories which are all in giant slalom, combined with 15 podiums, and 48 top ten finishes.

Here are some of his stats:

Height: 5′ 10″
Weight: 192 lbs
Date of Birth: August 31, 1984
Nicknames: Ligety Split, Ted Shred

Interview after the jump…

If you won a gold medal, what would you do? Like most people, I think I would partake in a night of partying and drinking. Well that’s exactly what US Olympic snowboarder Scotty Lago did after becoming a bronze medalist. What ensued afterward was an impromptu photo shoot involving a fan, paparazzi, a bronze medal and some sexy abs.

When the the pictures hit the internet, they spread like wildfire and prompted Scotty to formally apologize for his lapse in judgment to the USA and the US Olympic committee. Apparently the apology was too little, too late. According to reports, he was given the option to either quietly voluntary leave or run the risk of being formally ejected.

This Norwegian hottie just won a Gold Medal yesterday for the 20km Individual Biathlon in Whistler, and won Silver this past Sunday for the 10km Sprint in Whistler! He’s on fire! “SuperSvendsen,” as he calls himself, is only 24 years old but has done very well in his career so far and has a TON of fans. Just look at the video and some of the fan art I dug up, later in the post. I can see why though – this guy is totally a stud and is now an Olympic Champion. He knows how to handle his gun 😉

Here are some of his stats:

Sport: Biathlon
Birthdate: July 12, 1985
Home: Lillehammer, Norway
Height: 6’1″
Weight: 170 lbs
Olympics: Torino 2006

He debuted at the Torino Olympics at the young age of 20, and finished 6th place in 15km mass start at that time. He’s been destined for gold ever since. Prior to the 2009-2010 season, he went to a Tarot card reader who told him that he would make the podium at the 2010 Olympics, but couldn’t say if it was gold or not. Well, it was. He had a lucky crystal at the World Championship that he had received from the reader. I wonder if he had it in his pocket in Whistler?

This fellow Frenchie is a Canadian freestyle skier from Montreal, Quebec and has become Canada’s hero after winning the first ever Gold achieved on Canadian soil. He’s totally adorable and this 22 year old has inspired so many others with his great achievement. He himself is inspired by his older brother Frédéric who has cerebral palsy. It’s really touching to see how close he is with him, and the rest of his family. Bilodeau was 11th at the Torino games in 2006, and in 2010 he has come out on top of the world!

Here are some of his stats:

Birthdate: September 8, 1987
Height: 5′ 8″
Weight: 170 lb

He defeated former Vancouverite Dale Begg-Smith who won the silver medal for Australia and was VERY bitter about not winning gold. A very sour loser, when he’s not even a loser. He won a freaking medal – be grateful! Check out the visual grouchiness oozing from Begg-Smith in the photo.

The Olympics kick off tomorrow with an incredibly exciting and highly anticipated Opening Ceremonies at BC Place. Trust me – it’s an amazing show. Know what else is amazing? The hot athletes that are in town – specifically in this case, the male athletes.

From hockey players to luge, figure skating, snowboarding, freestyle skiing, and more, these guys are in tip top shape and looking golden. Some of them have done some shirtless campaigns or have just been photographed training, while others just have to smile to melt the fake snow here in Vancouver. For the past several weeks I’ve been writing about these hot athletes, introducing them to you and dangling their hot photos and videos in front of you, so you’ll know them if you see them “out & about.”

Check out the pictures and choose your top 3 hotties, so we can later see who win’s the Bronze, Silver, and Gold for the 2010 Olympic Hotties. If you want to look at more pictures of the athletes, or learn more about them, simply click on their name and it’ll take you their “Hottie of the Day” article.

This young German hottie (20 years old) competes in the luge, and was the youngest world champion ever when he was 18 years old. He’s been competing in the sport since 1995 and on Team Germany since 2006. He won four gold medals at the FIL World Luge Championships – wow! Two of them were in the men’s singles (2008 AND 2009) and two in the mixed team event (2008 AND 2009). When he won the golds in 2008, that is when he became the youngest world champion ever. Amazing!

Here are some of his stats:

Sport: Luge
Birthdate: July 24, 1989
Home: Schoenau am Koenigssee, Germany
Height: 6’3″
Weight: 202 lbs

This chiseled stud is a Canadian freestyle skier that competes in aerials. His best overall World Cup finish came in 2006, when he placed third, right behind teammate Kyle Nissen (who’s also a hottie). He had qualified in 3rd place at the Torino Olympics, but ended up with 6th place for his two jumps. He’s got a really good chance this year!

Here are some of his stats:

Event: Freestyle skiing
Age: 26 (Born April 1, 1983)
Hometown: Calgary
Achievements: 3rd place at 2009 World Championships & 6th Place at 2006 Torino Olympics
Watch: February 22, 2010

He just ranked in 3rd place on January 18th at Lake Placid. Photo of his victory above. The aerialist recently suffered a concussion after he fell and injured himself landing a jump in the men’s finals of the Canada Post Freestyle Grand Prix, in January, in Mont Gabriel, Quebec. He has since recovered and still going to give it his all at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics, which starts in 3 days.
