When someone mentions celebrity fitness videos, Jane Fonda quickly pops to mind. After all, she practically invented the genre with her highly-successful exercise videos in the 80s. Naturally, everyone and their dog wanted to jump on the fitness bandwagon. Even The Golden Girl’s Estelle Getty made one. Til this day, stars are still sharing their workout routines to make a bit of extra cash.
BuzzFeed recently shared some vintage fitness videos from back in the day. There’s something about the production values during the 80s and early 90s that makes everything super cheesy.
Since the Reunion Part 2 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs tonight, I thought I’d share BuzzFeed’s list. For those who don’t watch the Bravo reality show, this season was all about the competing Stallion Booty and Donkey Booty workout videos. Check out a few of my favorites vintage ones below.
The first full trailer for Scary Movie 5 has just come out and as you might expect, it’s full of the cheesy, celebrity cameo-filled humor that we’ve come to expect from the franchise.
Former Highschool Musical / Hellcats star, Ashley Tisdale has taken on the lead role in the film, previously only held by Anna Faris. The film’s core spoof is of Paranormal Activity, and follows three dancers, one veteran performer and two upstarts who are also best friends and competing for the lead in a new production from a snooty, aloof, imperious, and oversexed director. In addition to Tisdale, the film also stars Lindsay Lohan, Charlie Sheen, Erica Ash, Simon Rex, Heather Locklear, Katt Williams, Molly Shannon, Audrina Patridge, Kendra Wilkinson, Sheree Whitfield, Mike Tyson, and so many more. A lot of these people are featured in the trailer, while many are not. Unfortunately, Molly Shannon isn’t shown in the trailer and she’s one of the ones I’m looking forward to most!
In Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen’s scene, Lohan screams in terror while looking at the television screen which shows footage of her heading into a courthouse and a news headline that reads, “Breaking News: Probation Revoked. Jail Time For Lohan?” her getting her probation revoked. As a sidenote, in an earlier scene there’s a guy named Dom Kolb who comes over to do a dream extraction and he looks so much like Leonardo DiCaprio… but it’s not him. The actor’s name is Ben Cornish. The film comes out in 2013. Check out the trailer below!
I haven’t done a Top 10 list in a long time so I thought it would be fun to make one to enjoy this weekend. However, I didn’t want to make it about music, or movies or TV. So with all of that content removed what in the world would I list? Celebrity Mugshots that’s what. With the amazing amount of hilarious photos and situations out there, I couldn’t help but find my ten favorite for various reasons and share them with you.
Charlie Sheen has been in the public multiple times this year with his departure from Two & A Half Men but if you take it back to 2009, you’ll remember that Sheen was arrested for domestic violence. He allegedly tried to choke wife at the time Broke Mueller who was renting an Aspen home. I love this mugshot because Charlie still shows his smug attitude in it despite his situation and being arrested. Must be the Tigerblood.
According to TMZ, TV Bitch Queen Heather Locklear was arrested on Saturday night at about 4am. Someone had reported that they had heard a crash by North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village, California, and police responded accordingly. So how did she get arrested you ask? Well, read on…
So the police weren’t actually called by the witness until 7:48pm later that day. When the police came, they found a “knocked over ‘no parking’ sign and obvious signs of a car that went up the curb, striking the sign,” reported TMZ.
With a bit of investigation, the police figured out that it was Locklear’s car. She lived very close to where the accident occurred and when they went to her house to check out the car, the damaged BMW sealed her fait and she was arrested for a hit-and-run.
Okay, random question. How many times have you seen the “Heather is Back” promos on the CW? I’m guessing at least 100 for me, haha. Seriously, it plays during every commercial break on Gossip Girl and every other CW show. Normally, the over-hyping constant-in-your-face approach would turn me off, but it’s Heather so I’ll make an exception.
If you’ve been living under a rock, or couldn’t be bothered, Amanda Woodward makes her way back to Melrose Place on Tuesday Nov 17. We’ve all seen the commercials with her walking in her stilettos down the offices of WPK (Woodward is the W in the name) and her showdown with Ella. Personally, I love the BLONDE vs BLONDE campaign. I can’t wait for these two to go at it.
Even though, Locklear has had her fair share of bad luck the past few years, she looks pretty Fiiiiiiiiine in the promos- I think it’s A LOT of soft lighting. Either way, she’s FAB at forty-eight. Not only do I love Amanda but I love the fact she has the same iMac as me (see picture above).
Here’s her first full scene released from The CW. If this is the type of zingers she’ll be spewing each episode, sign me up. Not only is she back in fine form but that look she gives Ella up and down is PRICELESS.
Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Colin Egglesfield are officially off the show….their last episodes will air in January. That didn’t last long. I wonder what’s next for Ashlee…more acting, or back to
lip syncing music?
In fact, that’s not the only changes that are coming to the show. Aside from the addition of Heather Locklear as her famed character Amanda, a bunch of other new characters are going to be added as well, taking the show in a new direction. The show right now is more intense than they wanted it to be, focusing a lot on the murder of Sydney. Once that wraps up, they want the show to be more fun and playful. I’m all about intensity in a show like this. Desperate Housewives works with intense and dramatic plot lines…certainly the formula is the same for Melrose Place which is supposed to be all about drama, no? Only a few months into the show, they’re already “fixing” it, when perhaps there’s nothing to fix at all (aside from bad ratings).
EW just had an interview with the executive producers of the show, Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer, asking them about all the changes and the though process behind their decisions.
THE BITCH IS BACK. No, I’m not talking about The Hills and Kristin Cavallari. I’m talking about the grand dame of them all… Amanda Woodward. The CW has just confirmed that Heather Locklear, the original HBIC (Head Bitch In Charge), will be appearing on a few episodes of the Melrose Place reboot starting November 19, 2009. No word on how her appearance will impact the current residents of the sexy apartment complex. Just like its predecessor, Melrose Place 2.0 is struggling to find its audience in attempting to become a breakout hit. In the early 90s, Melrose Place was on the verge of cancellation when Aaron Spelling brought on his lucky charm, Heather Locklear to breathe new life to the series. We all know how that experiment turned out. Melrose Place became the IT SHOW of the 90s and became water cooler fodder the next day. Will lightning strike twice? Can Heather prove she still has it in her late 40s? Is the reboot bringing back too many of the old characters? Only time will tell.
Now that two episodes of the reboot have aired, I think it’s fair to start trashing or praising it. Quelle surprise, I’m going to praise it- like there was ever any doubt. I’m in love how it’s less campy but more bitchy & darker. It almost has a film noire feel to it. During the years Melrose Place was off the air, another explosion must have blown up the old building because the new complex looks friggin’ awesome. Those suites seem triple the size of where Billy & Alison used to live! Not only has the square footage increased, the common area has an outdoor bar and barbecue. So jealous!
