The Harry Potter spin-off film just snagged a little luck of the Irish. Colin Farrell joins the growing roster of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The movie already includes Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Ezra Miller and Alison Sudol.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the 39-year-old Irish actor will play a wizard named Graves that Newt (Redmayne) meets in New York City. The story centers on Newt’s adventures in the secret community of witches and wizards as he attempts to document magical creatures. The film takes place 70 years before Harry Potter reads the book at Hogwarts.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them bewitches moviegoers on November 18, 2016. Excited to see Farrell get his magic on? Share your thoughts below.

Praise baby Jesus!!! I’ve always wanted to go to the Harry Potter theme park, but if I’m going to fly all that way to Florida, I’m spending my time in Miami. No offense, Orlando ;) Now, I can take in all things Hogwarts on the West Coast.

Universal Studios Hollywood announced The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is headed to La-la Land. It’s signature ride, the 3-D HD spectacular “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey,” and other attractions are set to open sometime in Spring 2016. I can’t wait to enjoy some Butterbeer.

“The momentum behind J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world is as strong as ever and we are incredibly excited to bring Hogwarts to Hollywood,” said Brad Globe, president of Warner Bros. Consumer Products, in a press release. “Fans around the world have experienced the magic at ‘The Wizarding World of Harry Potter’ in Orlando and Osaka, and we look forward to continued success with our partners at Universal Studios Hollywood as we offer more fans a chance to step into this immersive environment.”

It’s been rumored for some time and now it’s official. Eddie Redmayne is part of the first Harry Potter spinoff.

The 33-year-old Oscar winner will play the lead role, Newt Scamander, in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. He’s the Wizarding World’s preeminent magizoologist, spending his time traveling the magical globe, documenting its creatures, and publishing a Hogwarts history textbook.

“Eddie Redmayne has emerged as one of today’s most extraordinarily talented and acclaimed actors,” Warner Bros. Pictures’ President of Creative Development and Worldwide Production Greg Silverman said in a statement. “We are thrilled to welcome him into J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, where we know he will deliver a remarkable performance as Newt Scamander, the central character in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.”

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is scheduled for a November 18, 2016 release in 3D and IMAX. JK Rowling wrote the film’s screenplay. It’s her first. David Yates who directed the last four Potter instalments, returns behind the camera. Check out the full press release below.

I’ll never watch Harry Potter the same way again. The 25-year-old actor who played Neville Longbottom is all grown up and kinda hot. Actor Matthew Lewis poses shirtless and in his underwear for the new issue of Attitude magazine.

While many Potterheads will appreciate the sexy pics, there’s at least one person who isn’t as excited. Author JK Rowling tweeted her thoughts upon stumbling upon his nearly naked photo shoot. Check out their cute Twitter exchange below.

“.@Mattdavelewis Not as bad as watching Dan in Equus, but close. Warn me next time, for God’s sake,” – JK Rowling

“Well, this is awkward. Sorry, Jo… ????” – Matthew Lewis

.@Mattdavelewis I will always support you whatever you want to do, Matthew. Now go put some clothes on.- JK Rowling

As you recall, Radcliffe went completely naked for his role in the stage production of Equus years ago. Like Rowling didn’t enjoy that view ;) Check out Lewis’ pics below, and his thoughts on his hot makeover.

According to Variety, Eddie Redmayne is on top of the list to play the lead in the Harry Potter spin-off. The events of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them takes place in New York seven decades before Potter’s story begins.

Redmayne is being eyed to play Newt Scamander in the highly-anticipated film. The character is described as a “magiczoologist.” For all you Potterheads, you know that’s a person who studies magical creatures. Besides Scamander, there are four other main roles — two American girls and two American boys.

Harry Potter no more. Daniel Radcliffe trades his Hogwarts schoolboy uniform and signature glasses for Gucci, Hermes and other designer threads for his new photo spread snapped by Kai Z Feng for OUT magazine. Someone’s gone all high-fashion on us.

In addition to showing off his couture side, the 23-year-old actor talks about life after Harry Potter. Specifically, his much-buzzed about performance in Kill Your Darlings. Ever since the film about gay writer Allen Ginsberg debuted at Sundance, conversation has been all about the explicit gay love scenes. Here’s what Radcliffe told OUT regarding all the controversy.

“You never see a gay actor getting asked what it’s like to play straight — to my knowledge, at least, there is no difference in how heterosexual and homosexual people fall in love.” – Daniel Radcliffe

One of the highlights from the interview include talk between director John Krokidas and his boyfriend. Krokidas was worried that Radcliffe wasn’t Jewish (down there), but his BF informed him that, “Of course he’s Jewish — everyone in the world knows that. Didn’t you see the shots from Equus? He’s only British from the waist up.” LOL. Love it. Check out a couple of photos and other quotes from his interview below.

‘The Philosophers’ Debuts Epic New Movie Trailer

In: Calan, Movies

Hot off the heels of my interview with the lovely and talented Katie Findlay from The Carrie Diaries comes the movie trailer for “The Philosophers.” Katie mentioned the movie in our interview together and now that I’ve seen the trailer for it I’m waiting with bated breathe until it’s release. As for a release date I couldn’t track down any solid day other that hopefully soon in 2013.

The film boasts quite the array of actors. Along side Katie we have James D’Arcy (Cloud Atlas, Hitchcock), Daryl Sabara who you might recognize as Juni from the Spy Kids movies, George Blagden from the recent big screen adaptation of Les Misérables, Harry Potter alum Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) as well as Freddie Stroma (Cormac McLaggen) who is also know as the drool worthy radio DJ Luke from Pitch Perfect, and Jacob Artist (the devilishly good looking Jake Puckerman on Glee).

Find out what the film is about and check out the newly released trailer below.

Who’d You Rather: Radcliffe VS Wood

In: Movies, Totally GAY!, Tyrell

It’s my last Who’d You Rather before the holidays. I can’t believe a year flew by so quickly, can you? We’ve compared a lot of musicians, actors and models every Wednesday of 2011 and it’s been fun. Today is no exception as I bring you the battle of Radcliffe VS Wood. Both of these men have starred in a magical film series’ and both are incredibly sexy. Let’s take a closer look.

Daniel Radcliffe was only 11-years-old when he first burst onto the silver screen portraying the beloved character of Harry Potter. The world watched as Daniel grew up before our eyes evolving into the sexy, young man he is today. Now, he has created a successful theater and Broadway career as well as starring in a new thrilling film, The Woman In Black. Oh, I can’t leave out that Entertainment Weekly named him the 2011 Entertainer of the Year.

Elijah Wood is keeping busy himself. While he may not have won any titles for 2011, he’s still working hard for Peter Jackson reprising his role as Frodo Baggins for the upcoming two Hobbit films. As you remember, Elijah played the role in the Lord of the Rings trilogy which rocketed him into superstardom. Elijah is also an active voice artist, giving life to characters in Happy Feet and 9. He was also nominated for a Satellite Award for his FX show, Wilfred.

Check out the photo evidence from both men and vote below on Who’d You Rather.
