Jennifer Lopez is the three Gs in her latest photo shoot- glamorous, glowing and gorgeous. Seriously, does this woman ever age? The former American Idol judge is even more stunning at 43-years-old than when she was a Fly Girl dancing on In Living Color back in the 90s. Lopez is ready for battle in the arena (a fashion one) with her gladiator-inspired shoes and couture dresses serving as her armor.
Photographer Katjia Rawles snapped the flawless Lopez in clothes from Balmain, Giuseppe Zanotti, Paco Rabanne for Harper’s Bazaar’s February 2013 issue. The fashion editorial was shot on location at the Ciragan Palace Hotel in Istanbul, Turkey. The former Mrs. Marc Anthony took a brief break during her current world tour. In the accompanying interview, J-Lo talks about her new beau Casper Smart, why she left Idol and her infamous green Versace dress from the 2000 Grammys, among other things. Check out more photos and a few memorable quotes below.
“I’m not a judge for a living,” she explains. “I’m a singer. I’m a dancer. I’m a performer. I’m an actress. That’s what I’m supposed to be doing. It makes me a better parent, a better person.”
Just days ago, OWN announced the Oprah Winfrey would be bringing back her Oprah’s Favorite Things special this fall, after everyone thought it was done. I’m so excited about the November 2-hour special and can’t wait to see the look on the faces of the military wives when Oprah breaks the news to them.
For November’s issue of Harper’s Bizarre, Oprah was photographed by the amazing Terry Richardson and the photos look amazing. Winfrey was styled by Ann Caruso in a fire engine red Jil Sander coat, a white Escada menswear-inspired tux, and a smattering of blinged-out rings. She. Looks. Fabulous. In the issue, she explains to her interviewer, Laura Brown that she just tries to “live her best life” and is no superwoman. Says Oprah, “Like this morning, I had the intention to meditate for 20 minutes, but I really only made it about 12. And then I said, ‘Okay, don’t beat yourself up; you did the 12.’ I had the intention to work out for an hour, but I only did a half. And even with that I was still a half hour later getting here, so…”
Nicole Kidman also looks stunning in the issue, gracing the cover of the magazine as well. I’ve included Oprah’s pictures as well as the cover featuring Kidman below. Enjoy!
Keira Knightley and Katie Holmes… so much in common. Besides having first names that are five letters long and beginning with the letter “K”, both ladies also grace fashion magazine covers for October 2012. Knightley channels a modern-day Anna Karenina in her Vogue editorial, appropriate given she’s starring in another film adaptation of Leo Tolstoy’s 1877 novel. Meanwhile, the former Mrs. Cruise goes sophisticated edgy socialite for the Russian edition of Harper’s Bazaar. Both actresses look absolutely stunning in their respective issues.
27-year-old Keira posed for iconic photographer Mario Testino for her spread, while famed Gilles Bensimone snapped 33-year-old Katie. Check out their photos below along with a few quotes. Keira’s co-stars, Jude Law and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, also make an appearance in her Vogue spread.
Keira On Playing Anna Karenina
“When I reread the book last summer, I went, ‘Oh!’ It’s not a romance at all. I don’t think that Tolstoy is saying this is what you should do for love; quite a lot of the time he is saying the reverse. He hates Anna at certain moments. She is both a villain and a heroine. She can be incredibly vain and manipulative. She is somebody who breaks her own moral code, and yet the shame and disgust she lives with because of that make her fascinating.”
They’re baaaaaaaaaaaaaack. Some of the original supermodels of the 90s are gracing a fashion magazine cover once again. It’s great to see some of them back. Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen, Eva Herzigova and Yasmin Le Bon are showing the newbies and actresses how it’s done. Hopefully, this signals the return of the supermodel era. The OGs (originals) have not only joined forces for Harper Bazaar UK’s December 2011 cover and photo editorial, but also for a short film for Duran Duran.
Directed by the genius that is Jonas Akerlund, the supermodels pose as members of Duran Duran for the group’s new short film SLASH music video for “Girl Panic“. Think of it as a modern-day George Michael “Freedom 90” model-filled music video. Crawford also starred in that iconic clip. The real-life members of Duran Duran make cameos in the visual as bellhops, paparazzi and chauffeurs. D&G designers, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, also make an appearance.
“We have made some pretty ambitious videos over the years, but this one was certainly the most challenging to date,” Simon Le Bon, lead singer of Duran Duran said. “Coordinating the schedules of five of the world’s biggest super models, Jonas, and the band was no easy task – but we couldn’t be happier with the finished film. It has all of the ingredients that we feel are important – it’s humorous, glamorous, sexy and very Duran Duran.”
Forget Lawrence of Arabia. It’s all about Janet Jackson of Arabia or should I say Miss Jackson (cuz I’m “Nasty”). The iconic singer looks gorgeous in emerald on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar Arabia’s December 2011 cover. The 45-year-old makes us all green with envy with her apparent discovery of the Fountain of Youth. Seriously, Janet looks like she hasn’t aged a day since her “Rhythm Nation” days. In fact, I might even say she looks even hotter. Check out that slammin’ body.
Jackson posed for photographer Alan Gelati when her “Number Ones: Up, Close, & Personal” tour stopped in the Middle East for a few concert dates. She is currently on the final leg of the tour but has temporarily put it on hold so she can be with her family during the final days of the Conrad Murray trial. Jackson’s Harper’s Bazaar Arabia is sort of a big deal. The issue commemorates both the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 and the 40th anniversary of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Check out a few pics from the issue below.
Kate Winslet is like a fine wine. She only gets better with age. At only 35-years-old, the British actress has won every prestigious award possible. From an Oscar, an Emmy, 2 Golden Globes, and BAFTA, Winslet has a career most actresses would die for. Even more enviable than the accolades is the fact Kate gets to share the screen with today’s hottest heart throbs including Leonardo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Matt Damon to name a few. Winslet definitely leads a charmed life.
In the November 2011 Harper’s Bazaar issue, Winslet opens up about her family life, bouncing back from a failed marriage and her career. On the cover and photo spread, Winslet smolders and looks breathtaking. She channels old-school glamor, reminiscent of Hollywood screen legends like Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor. I’m loving the cat eye make up. It definitely suits her. I’ve included a few quotes from the interview conducted by Justine Picardie, along with a few pics from the photo shoot.
“One thing I will say about me and Sam is that it’s fine, it’s really fine. I’m not going to s—fling, there’s no point in even going there. It is what it is… We’re grown-ups at the end of the day, and however hard it’s been for me, it’s been equally hard for him. And we have a child together who we both love – and raising him together, jointly and without any conflict, is absolutely key. It’s the only way to do it, and I’ve really learnt that with Mia.”
It must’ve sucked being the only girl Smurf in the village. Not only didn’t you have any girlfriends to talk to, but you didn’t have any to share any clothes with. For decades Smurfette has worn her signature white dress and white pumps. While that look was fine within the confines of the Smurf village, it’s not chic enough for the Big Apple.
In anticipation of Smurfette and the Smurfs movie adventure in New York City, the blond-haired blue skinned beauty is getting a bit of a makeover from Harper’s Bazaar. For their upcoming issue, the fashion magazine has enlisted Smurfette to model the latest accessories by Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs and more. Check out the new, sassier and more fashionable Smurfette below.
Not only are Britney Spears and Lady Gaga going head to head on the Billboard charts, but they’re also taking their battle to the magazine stands. Arguably, two of today’s biggest pop stars, they are facing off in two very different magazine covers this month. Stylistically speaking, they couldn’t be any further from each other. Brit Brit gets glamorous for Harper’s Bazaar while Gaga becomes a three-headed monster for hers.
At 29-years-old, Britney has officially outgrown her “I’m Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman” mantra. She looks sophisticated, sexy and self-assured in her latest cover and photo spread for the fashion magazine. In her interview she talks her upcoming tour, motherhood, past fashion mistakes and much more. Photographer Alexi Lubormirski snapped the “Femme Fatale” singer for the pictorial.
