The infamous Grease duo, Olivia Newton-John & John Travolta have reunited to release a Christmas album together titled, This Christmas and today they’ve just released the music video for one of the songs: “I Think You Might Like It.”
In the video, Travolta flies his plane home for Christmas where he is reunited with Olivia Newton-John, who drove to meet him in a convertible packed with presents. The two do a little line dancing throughout the video in black outfits, which feels like an homage to the outfits they wore in final scenes in Grease. Aside from John & Olivia, we also see clips of other families reuniting for the holidays, including some soldiers returning home as well.
In the final clip of the video, the two drive off in the convertible, with one last wave from Olivia. This is of course an homage to the final scene in Grease when Danny & Sandy drive off in the flying car.
Oh, along with the release of the music video, John and Oliva sat down with Ellen DeGeneres on her show today. Enjoy the cute (and cheesy) Christmas music video, as well as their segment on Ellen below.
Glee has a ‘Grease‘-themed episode in store for viewers coming up on Thursday, November 15. The episode will feature nine songs from the hit musical/movie, including “Greased Lightening” sang by the Glee cast which was just released today as a preview.
In “Greased Lightening,” it’s a mixture of old and new Glee stars with Cory Monteith, Harry Shum Jr., Kevin McHale, and Chord Overstreet singing with Samuel Larsen, Jacob Artist, and The Glee Project winner Blake Jenner.
Listen to the song below and check out the rest of the songs the Glee will be covering from Grease. Donovan, Brian and myself watch Olivia Newton John perform live earlier this summer and she sang a handful of songs from the movie. I’m certain she’ll be excited to see this episode, as will John Travolta.
This upcoming Tuesday, “Glee” finally returns from its Winter break and I personally can’t wait. Not only do we get to see Chord Overstreet shirtless once again, but this time he’ll be all wet and shiny from swimming in the pool. To boot, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Nene Leakes makes her much-anticipated debut as the synchronized swimming coach.
A few weeks ago, Tyrell gave the first listen to McKinley High’s cover of the iconic “Grease” classic “Summer Nights“. Now, we have the entire playlist from the episode and it’s a great one. The episode covers a wide array of songs ranging from Roberta Flack’s signature ballad “The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face” to Rihanna’s huge hit “We Found Love“.
It wouldn’t be “Glee” if there wasn’t a mashup thrown in the mix. This time around Maroon 5′s “Moves Like Jagger” is mixed with The Rolling Stones “Jumpin’ Jack Flash“. Whoever came up with this Mick Jagger-inspired mashup deserves mad props. Absolutely brilliant. As good as that mashup is, my favorite is Lea Michele’s rendition of David Guetta and Usher’s “Without You“. I love how she swapped out the club beats for an orchestral arrangement. It’s fantastically epic.
For TV lovers, ending the holidays is a breath of fresh air when our favorite series’ return to their rightful time slots with new episodes for us to enjoy. On Tuesday, January 10, Glee will debut their first new episode back titled Yes/No. A lot is about to go down in this episode so make sure you’re holding on to your hat.
One of the most exciting moments for the show will probably be the introduction of guest star Nene Leakes. However, I am more excited personally for the rendition of Summer Nights from Grease sung by Amber Riley & Chord Overstreet aka Mercedes and Sam . At the end of season two, it looked like they had a thing going, but on return from the break, Sam had moved away and Mercedes had moved on. Will love rekindle for these two?
While only the audio of the song has been revealed, I can tell you that I think it will be one of those Glee numbers that is actually memorable from the season. Not to mention, the crew packed up and headed to the original location where they filmed the famous outdoor Rydell High scenes. And from the screenshots from the episode, it looks like they nail some of the famous images from the movie’s iconic number. Listen to Summer Nights below.
If you’re like me and can’t wait to get your first look of Miss Linnethia Monique Johnson Leakes on “Glee“, then boy, are you in luck. Don’t get too excited just yet though. I’m going to
cock NeNe tease you and hold off showing pics of her as Roz Washington for just a few more moments.
When the Fox musical returns from Christmas break, not only will it feature the Real Housewife’s debut but also an homage to one of the most beloved musicals of all time, “Grease“. The episode titled, “Yes/No“, filmed the “Grease” numbers at the actual high school posing as Rydell High in the classic film. Just in case you were wondering, it’s Venice High School located in western LA. Check out a few pics of them Rama Lama Ding Dong’ing at the iconic location below.
My newest guilty pleasure track comes from two of Cherrytree Records shining stars, Frankmusik and Colette Carr. The two teamed up for this track off of Frankmusik’s upcoming album titled Do It In The A.M.. If this track is any indication of what the album will be like, it’ll be on repeat more than his first one was. If you’ve heard the track, No I.D., then you know it’s absolutely catchy and and addicting and the video is no exception.
Channeling a little bit of the 50′s and Grease, the two “tell me more, tell me more” to their friends in the classic setting from Summer Love. Frank and his greaser boys look super hot while Colette and her “Cherrytree Gals” slay some fierce dance moves in the cafeteria. Check out the infectious video below and don’t forget to buy the track off of iTunes as well.
On Friday at the age of 60, Jeff Conaway known for his role as Kenickie in the film Grease and Bobby Wheeler in Taxi was taken off life support and passed away. The New York native who was known to have a long history with substance abuse and drug addiction became a cautionary tale in Hollywood.
On May 11th, Conaway was checked into an LA hospital and on May 26th, doctors told Conaway’s family that there was no visible sign of brain activity. On Thursday, Jeff’s feeding tube was removed and Radar Online reported that Jeff was in no pain. Jeff Conaway had no children but was married twice. His first wife was Olivia Newton-John’s sister and they were together from 1980-1985. Jeff married again in 1990 to Kerri Young. The time and details of their divorce are unclear and were never really made public.
Jeff had tried to become sober many times but all attempts fell through. In 2008, he joined Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew. On Howard Stern’s radio show, Conaway admitted to attempting suicide over 21 times by using enough pills to “knock out an elephant.” At the time of his hospitalization, reports flooded the media that it was due to prescription drug overdose but Dr. Drew Pinsky revealed that he was actually suffering from pneumonia and sepsis, a dangerous blood infection. In his passing, many stars he was worked with have come forward to remember him including John Travolta and Marilu Henner.
If you still weren’t convinced Anne Hathaway and James Franco would do an excellent job co-hosting this year’s Academy Awards from their first two promos, the following two videos should do the trick. I’m really looking forward to the youthful, fun energy these two actors are going to bring to the show. While both Franco and Hathaway are respected Oscar-nominated actors, they’ve also shown their comedic sides in hit films like “Pineapple Express” and “The Bride Wars” respectively. It’ll be their proven comedic timing that’ll make the marathon broadcast fun to watch.
In the first clip, Anne Hathaway channels her inner Eva Peron in the classic musical, “Evita“. Just when you think it’ll be a straight-up imitation, Hathaway switches up the lyrics to “Don’t cry for me Kodak Theater“. Then she breaks it down and starts rapping to Wreckx-N-Effect’s hit, “Rump Shaker“. I love how she’s not afraid to make a fool of herself to provide some laughs. Check it out below.
