After a lengthy delay due to finding the right Danny Zuko, FOX finally airs Grease Live! on January 31. It appears it was worth the wait. The first official cast promo images are on point.

Aaron Tveit steps into John Travolta’s tight black jeans quite nicely, while Vanessa Hudgens channels her inner Pink Lady, playing Betty Rizzo. Two images of Julianne Hough show us the two sides of Sandy- the innocent new girl at school and the sexy vixen at the end of the flick.

Hopefully, images of Carlos PenaVega as Kenickie, Keke Palmer as Marty, Carly Rae Jepsen as Frenchy, Kether Donohue as Jan and David Del Rio as Putzie follow soon.

Jessie J will also take part in the production, performing a rendition of “Grease (Is the Word)” at the beginning of the telecast. Check out the images below.

FOX is inching ever so close to completing the cast for its ambitious live production of Grease. Today’s announcement includes two Pink Ladies and a T-Bird.

Fresh off her Broadway stint as Cinderella, Carly Rae Jepsen has been tapped to play everyone’s favorite beauty school dropout. The 29-year-old will don a pink wig to play Frenchy. Absolutely inspired casting if you ask me.

The “Run Away With You” singer joins previously announced cast members Julianne Hough as Sandy, Aaron Tveit as Danny, Vanessa Hudgens as Rizzo, Carlos PenaVega as Kenickie and Keke Palmer as Marty.

FOX was having such a difficult time casting Danny Zuko, it pushed the live broadcast from 2015 to January 31, 2016. I was beginning to wonder if anyone could ever fill John Travolta’s shoes. At long last, the network has finally found its leading man.

Aaron Tveit has been given the monumental task of playing the head T Bird. Currently, the 31-year-old can be seen on the cable series Graceland, but he has quite the extensive stage resume. He’s appeared in Catch Me If You Can and Next To Normal on Broadway. Not to mention his turn as Enjolras in the big-budget film adaptation of Les Miserables in 2012. He should do just fine with his new high-profile gig.

“I’m thrilled and honored to be joining this incredibly talented team of actors in re-imagining this classic and beloved musical,” Tveit said. “Playing Danny Zuko is a dream role and I can’t wait to be a part of all the fun that comes along with performing live on television.”

Tveit joins previously announced cast members Julianne Hough (Sandy), Vanessa Hudgens (Rizzo) and Keke Palmer (Marty). Find out below who’s playing his on-screen sidekick Kenickie.

FOX originally intended to broadcast its live Grease production for sometime in 2015. The musical was pushed to Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016 when the network couldn’t find the right person to play Danny Zuko. Love him or not these days, but John Travolta slayed it back then. Definitely a hard act to follow.

I’m pretty sure FOX isn’t any closer to finding its leading man, but at least the rest of the cast is starting to take shape. Julianne Hough and Vanessa Hudgens were the first to snag roles in the highly-anticipated project- Sandy and Rizzo respectively. Another Pink Lady has joined the cast. Find out who below.

The infamous Grease duo, Olivia Newton-John & John Travolta have reunited to release a Christmas album together titled, This Christmas and today they’ve just released the music video for one of the songs: “I Think You Might Like It.”

In the video, Travolta flies his plane home for Christmas where he is reunited with Olivia Newton-John, who drove to meet him in a convertible packed with presents. The two do a little line dancing throughout the video in black outfits, which feels like an homage to the outfits they wore in final scenes in Grease. Aside from John & Olivia, we also see clips of other families reuniting for the holidays, including some soldiers returning home as well.

In the final clip of the video, the two drive off in the convertible, with one last wave from Olivia. This is of course an homage to the final scene in Grease when Danny & Sandy drive off in the flying car.

Oh, along with the release of the music video, John and Oliva sat down with Ellen DeGeneres on her show today. Enjoy the cute (and cheesy) Christmas music video, as well as their segment on Ellen below.

Glee has a Grease‘-themed episode in store for viewers coming up on Thursday, November 15. The episode will feature nine songs from the hit musical/movie, including “Greased Lightening” sang by the Glee cast which was just released today as a preview.

In “Greased Lightening,” it’s a mixture of old and new Glee stars with Cory Monteith, Harry Shum Jr., Kevin McHale, and Chord Overstreet singing with Samuel Larsen, Jacob Artist, and The Glee Project winner Blake Jenner.

Listen to the song below and check out the rest of the songs the Glee will be covering from Grease. Donovan, Brian and myself watch Olivia Newton John perform live earlier this summer and she sang a handful of songs from the movie. I’m certain she’ll be excited to see this episode, as will John Travolta.

This upcoming Tuesday, “Glee” finally returns from its Winter break and I personally can’t wait. Not only do we get to see Chord Overstreet shirtless once again, but this time he’ll be all wet and shiny from swimming in the pool. To boot, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Nene Leakes makes her much-anticipated debut as the synchronized swimming coach.

A few weeks ago, Tyrell gave the first listen to McKinley High’s cover of the iconic “Grease” classic “Summer Nights“. Now, we have the entire playlist from the episode and it’s a great one. The episode covers a wide array of songs ranging from Roberta Flack’s signature ballad “The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face” to Rihanna’s huge hit “We Found Love“.

It wouldn’t be “Glee” if there wasn’t a mashup thrown in the mix. This time around Maroon 5’s “Moves Like Jagger” is mixed with The Rolling Stones “Jumpin’ Jack Flash“. Whoever came up with this Mick Jagger-inspired mashup deserves mad props. Absolutely brilliant. As good as that mashup is, my favorite is Lea Michele’s rendition of David Guetta and Usher’s “Without You“. I love how she swapped out the club beats for an orchestral arrangement. It’s fantastically epic.

For TV lovers, ending the holidays is a breath of fresh air when our favorite series’ return to their rightful time slots with new episodes for us to enjoy. On Tuesday, January 10, Glee will debut their first new episode back titled Yes/No. A lot is about to go down in this episode so make sure you’re holding on to your hat.

One of the most exciting moments for the show will probably be the introduction of guest star Nene Leakes. However, I am more excited personally for the rendition of Summer Nights from Grease sung by Amber Riley & Chord Overstreet aka Mercedes and Sam . At the end of season two, it looked like they had a thing going, but on return from the break, Sam had moved away and Mercedes had moved on. Will love rekindle for these two?

While only the audio of the song has been revealed, I can tell you that I think it will be one of those Glee numbers that is actually memorable from the season. Not to mention, the crew packed up and headed to the original location where they filmed the famous outdoor Rydell High scenes. And from the screenshots from the episode, it looks like they nail some of the famous images from the movie’s iconic number. Listen to Summer Nights below.
