Last night, the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards took place, hosted by the hilarious Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. The duo made such a great team, I only wish there had been more of them! There were several very funny moments throughout the night, as well as some touching moments such Jody Foster’s acceptance speech for the Cecil B. DeMille Award. Another of my favorite parts of the night was when Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell were presenters together. I was laughing my head off. I’m not sure what was with Tommy Lee Jones’ stank face during that portion of the evening, but whatever. I also loved when Adele won for “Skyfall” and they cut to Taylor Swift’s “less than impressed” face.
I watched the Awards show at Donovan & Brian‘s house along with some Homorazzi cast members and some of our other friends. As you may already know, we had made some predictions as to who we thought would win. I’ve included the results of those predictions within the list of winners below. I’m just going to put it out there right away, I suck at these types of predictions and totally lost. LOL.
For those actresses who didn’t make either my 2013 Golden Globes Top 10 Best Dressed or Top 5 Worst Dressed lists, I thought I’d pit some of them in fashion battles against each other. Check out a few below.
Ever since Angelina Jolie made a huge splash at last year’s Oscars with her thigh-bearing dress, several ladies have tried to channel their inner Jolie. Halle Berry and Rosie Huntington Whiteley were just two names who attempted the high-slit trend last night. Does Berry have a “leg up” on Whiteley with her printed Versace gown? Or does the Victoria’s Secret model win the battle with her black Saint Laurent dress? Cast your vote below. Side note: Didn’t Halle’s “berries” look lopsided in that dress?

As mentioned in my Top 10 Best Dressed post, there were no real fashion trainwrecks on the red carpet this year at the Golden Globes. While great for designers, it’s a huge letdown for those who tune in to laugh at the celebrities who missed the mark.
For my worst dressed list, I could only muster up five actresses who didn’t impress me. Since fashion is highly-subjective, I’m sure a few of you will appreciate the following gowns which I deemed style hiccups. Check out my list below and see if you agree or disagree with my selections.

Did you watch the 70th annual Golden Globes? Expectations were high for Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s first hosting attempt, and boy did they deliver. I had a few people over for a potluck viewing party and we found ourselves laughing throughout the three-hour ceremony. Hopefully, this is the dawn of a new era. Fingers crossed that the duo emcee the event again next year. It definitely didn’t drag with them on deck.
Equally as impressive, were the ladies on the red carpet. There were barely any fashion trainwrecks this year which is a shame since it’s fun to mock bad choices. If there was a common theme this year, it was to go simple and understated. Another big trend was long sleeves. A few ladies really worked this to perfection. Check out my Top 10 picks for best dresses at the 2013 Golden Globes below.

If I could attend any awards show, it’s hands down the Golden Globes. Not only is it the most star-studded, but you can eat and drink while pretending to be interested in some of the acceptance speeches ;) Admit it, some of them are major snoozefests. Too bad Meryl Streep couldn’t win every category. Her speeches are always hilariously witty.
Going into tonight’s ceremony, Lincoln has the most nominations with seven. Tied in second are Argo and Django Unchained. On the television front, Game Change is on top with five nominations, with Homeland in second with four nominations. Who will be the big winner when all is said and done?
A few of us have shared our predictions in each category. Not to toot my own horn, but I’m the reigning champ amongst the Homorazzi crew. Last year, I predicted the most correctly. That being said, Adam was numero uno for our recent Emmy predictions. Who’ll win this time? Check out all our choices below.

The 70th Golden Globe Awards broadcast live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills tonight and I couldn’t be anymore excited. I’m such a sucker for all the Hollywood revelry, especially this particular one. Due to all the free-flowing alcohol, the Globes are one the most entertaining and unpredictable of them all. Add the hilarious tag team of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler to the mix and it’s guaranteed to be a great time.
Since watching these live events is more fun with friends, I’m having a few people over. To get in the spirit of the Globes, we’ll also partake in enjoying some libations during the ceremony. Our friends at EFFEN Vodka sent over a few Hollywood-themed drink recipes for us to enjoy. Whether you’re watching the Globes solo, hosting a party or skipping the entire thing, definitely sample these tasty cocktails. As always, remember to drink responsibly.
2 parts EFFEN® Black Cherry Vodka
3/4 part DeKuyper® Peachtree Schnapps Liqueur
3/4 part Lemon Juice
2 slices Fresh Peach
2 Fresh Cherries
1 part Club Soda
Method: In a mixing glass, muddle peach slices and cherries in juice and syrup. Add EFFEN® Black Cherry Vodka, peach liqueur and lemon juice over ice. Shake, and strain into a tall glass over ice. Top with club soda and garnish with peach and cherry.

Coming up later this month are the 70th Annual Golden Globes hosted by the hilarious besties, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Not too long ago, the duo released their first promo which had them talking in old Hollywood accents – oh those two.
In this new interview-style promo, the two talk about why they wanted to host the Golden Globes in the first place, who they are interested in seeing, and who they are hoping wins Best Picture. At first they say Avatar (not having a clue about any actual current movies), but then Fey reveals that she’d like to be the first person to win Best Picture… just her, on her own. LOL.
Poehler & Fey say that they enjoy the Golden Globes because it’s a “sloppy, loud party” where “beautiful people of film rub shoulders with the horrible, disgusting people of television.” Enjoy the funny 2-minute promo below.

Not only did the Hollywood Foreign Press Association debut the first promo for the 70th Golden Globes featuring Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, but they also revealed their nominations. Leading the pack with seven nods is Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln. Not surprising, given all the other Oscar precursor love. On the flip side, Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained shockingly earned five nominations including one for Leonardo DiCaprio.
If you think about it, DiCaprio along with a few other out of left field nods aren’t too earth-shattering given that the HFPA have a reputation of being HUGE star f*ckers. They love to honor A-list celebs in hopes that they’ll attend, making their event the most star-studded one of the awards season.
On the TV front, the HFPA have a couple of head-scratchers as well. Mad Men for the first time isn’t nominated but NBC’s polarizing Smash is. Granted they’re competing in different categories, but still. The Debra Messing musical beat out Parks & Recreations, Suburgatory, Community and a whole whackload of other worthy sitcoms. Fans of ABC’s Nashville will be elated that both Hayden Panettiere and Connie Britton were recognized. While Modern Family dominates the Emmys, only Sofia Vergara and Eric Stonestreet earned nominations in the acting categories.
Without further ado, check out all of the 2013 Golden Globe nominations below which were revealed by presenters Jessica Alba, Megan Fox and Ed Helms this morning. You’ll also find my commentary for most of the major movie categories and how they differ from the recently announced SAG nominations. Be sure to leave your comments afterward. I would to hear your thoughts on the HFPA’s nods.
