Anyone else bummed that the incredibly hot Dean Geyer wasn’t in last week’s episode of Glee? Seriously! The FOX show goes on hiatus for a month and then the first episode back, we get nada and instead we get Finn 2.0 (Blake Jenner)? No bueno. Thankfully, Ryan Murphy is rectifying this grave injustice by featuring Geyer’s Brody Weston shirtless and sweaty in this week’s episode. Murphs… you’re forgiven ;) Oh yeah, Kate Hudson’s awesomely bitchy Cassandra July is also back. Halleloo!!!
While Rachel (Lea Michele) is getting sexually frustrated by Brody and being tortured by Cassandra in New York City, the kids over at McKinley High prepare for opening night of this year’s musical, Grease. It’s such a HUGE event, Santana, Rachel and Kurt all return to watch Finn’s directing debut. I’m curious to know what airlines all these kids are using. Flying to and from Lima, Ohio all the time can’t be cheap. Some serious racking up of mileage points is definitely happening.
Truth be told, I’m really looking forward to this episode. Who doesn’t love a little “rama lama lama ke ding a de dinga a dong” action? Side note. This summer I was lucky enough to watch Olivia Newton-John in concert, and even luckier to meet her. The Aussie singer performed so many songs from the iconic musical, I felt like I was watching a live version of Grease. All that was missing was John Travolta joining her. To be fair, he was probably busy with his hectic massage schedule and all ;) Check out the pictures from Glee’s “Glease” episode below.
Apparently is all about the moms on TV today considering that earlier today I posted about who had just been cast as Gloria’s mom on Modern Family. Now I just came across casting news from TV Line for Glee and learned who has been cast as Jake’s mom on.
The handsome Jacob Artist plays McKinley’s newest bad boy Jake and as such is definitely in need of some parental guidance. As you know, Jake is the half brother of Puck (Mark Salling) who has a different mother (Gina Hecht) that has occasionally guest starred on the show. No word on if the Jake and Puck’s mothers will be in the same episode.
The woman cast as Jake’s mom is both an actress and a daytime talk show host and I think this sexy lady will be great in this role.
Glee has a ‘Grease‘-themed episode in store for viewers coming up on Thursday, November 15. The episode will feature nine songs from the hit musical/movie, including “Greased Lightening” sang by the Glee cast which was just released today as a preview.
In “Greased Lightening,” it’s a mixture of old and new Glee stars with Cory Monteith, Harry Shum Jr., Kevin McHale, and Chord Overstreet singing with Samuel Larsen, Jacob Artist, and The Glee Project winner Blake Jenner.
Listen to the song below and check out the rest of the songs the Glee will be covering from Grease. Donovan, Brian and myself watch Olivia Newton John perform live earlier this summer and she sang a handful of songs from the movie. I’m certain she’ll be excited to see this episode, as will John Travolta.
It’s an Oppan Glee-nam style Halloween treat! Darren Criss, Jenna Ushkowitz and Kevin McHale have just released a teaser video from an upcoming episode of Glee where they take on Psy’s incredibly popular “Gangnam Style” song at sectionals.
Of course Glee taking on “Gangnam Style” wouldn’t be exciting without the signature dance, and thankfully they do just that. The dance is for an episode airing at the end of November, but a new episode of Glee is back on November 8 (next week).
The teaser below features a big thank you to fans from the aforementioned three Gleeks, as well as a behind the scenes look at their “Gangnam Style” rehearsal and snippets from the actual episode. I also included a fan-made video parody of the song with countless clips from the show that I thought you might enjoy as well.
Looks like someone’s booking an airline ticket from Lima, Ohio to sunny Beverly Hills, California. An actor on Glee just booked a recurring role on the CW’s 90210. I wonder how Ryan Murphy feels about this teen show double dipping. Probably isn’t a fan, but given this person hasn’t appeared on the FOX show yet this season, he probably doesn’t have a say.
The actor in question will appear on CW’s flailing show (have you seen the ratings this season… OUCH) for multiple episodes on 90210‘s fifth season. He will play Campbell, “a charming and good-looking college student from a wealthy and privileged background.” Have any guesses on who? Find out below.
After a five-week hiatus, Glee returns with a brand new episode next week. The show will feature the return of Mercedes (Amber Riley) and Mike Chang (Harry Shum Jr). With their return, that only leaves Quinn (Dianna Agron) as the sole McKinley High graduate not to return to her former stomping grounds. Hopefully that happens soon. I can’t wait for Quinn to knock down the new HBIC Cheerio a peg or two.
The episode will also mark the debut of the winner of The Glee Project’s second season. Blake Jenner joins the cast as football player Ryder Lynn. Appropriately enough, Finn helps the younger version of himself join New Directions. Titled “The Role You Were Born To Play“, the returning alums help cast this year’s musical of Grease. Reportedly, there are several contenders up for the coveted Danny and Sandy roles. Check out a slew of preview pics just released by FOX below.
While reading the recent news of the darling Taylor Swift entering an elite group of women to have 50 entries in the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, I got to thinking about other Billboard accomplishments and achievements.
One of the first achievements I found that was interesting to me was “Biggest Drop off the Hot 100” or as I like to call it… “Songs We Got Sick Of Fast.” I’m only going to list the top 3 because the majority of the rest of the list are songs from pre-1980 and I just don’t care about them.
“Someday I’ll be living in a big ol’ city and all you’re ever gonna be is mean”
Honestly this one kinda surprises me. I adore Taylor Swift, and as much as this song’s lyrics are the epitome of her sometimes childish attitude, the song is pretty catchy and I’m shocked that it would go from number eleven to straight off the Hot 100 Chart.
That’s right. The Divine Miss M is heading over to the FOX show to appear on Glee in an upcoming episode. Ryan Murphy announced the great news via Twitter. Murphy put the 66-year-old legend on the spot in front of 1,000 people at the God’s Love We Deliver Golden Heart Award ceremony held last night. Luckily for him (and us), Bette Midler was a good sport and replied ‘yes’.
Even though he’s already plotting on what role Midler would play, the Beaches star already gave her two cents. She suggested she play Rachel’s grandmother. AMAZING. While that would be an awesome role, I’d like Bette to pay homage to her early days when she used to sing at gay bathhouses in New York City. Can’t you just imagine it now. Blaine, Kurt, Karofsky and Sebastian doing a number at some bathhouse?
If Murphy doesn’t want to be that controversial, all I ask is for a scene with Midler and current guest-star Sarah Jessica Parker. The two previously worked together on Hocus Pocus. Hell, why not send Kathy Najimy an invitation as well. Another option could have Kate Hudson talk momma Goldie Hawn into appearing on the show, so that Midler and her can have a First Wives Club reunion. The possibilities are endless.
