glee season 2

May 24th is a big day for fans of Glee. Its the season finale that everyone has been talking about since the show packed their suitcases and headed to the lights of Broadway… or the streets of New York really. In an exclusive spread with The Hollywood Reporter, the mag gets a day by day diary of what really happened behind the scenes of the grueling five day 6 MILLION dollar single episode shoot. Major venues for the episode include Times Square and Central Park and some locations only being secured once the team arrived in the city. Talk about down to the New York Minute.

Their are some major things happening this episode. The first is the New Directions performing a new original song at Nationals. Ryan Seacrest gave the world a listen of Light Up The World a few days ago and I can’t wait to see it portrayed on the stage. The second is the untimely death of one of the characters. The cast and crew have been really great at keeping this secret alive so when it goes down, it’s going to be a shock to a lot of people I presume.

The shoot was intense and the time frames were stressful but one thing is for sure, the cast of Glee know how to draw a following but they don’t forget to count their blessing. The magazine notes often how the kids will pose for pictures, give autographs or just take a second to give a high five or wave hello during busy filming times. You have to appreciate that. So let’s get on with it, what can we expect from a six million dollar finale?

All your GLEE FINALE SPOILERS here.

Last night on Glee, the kids celebrated their prom, but of course that dramatic episode wasn’t the climax of the season. On the season finale on May 24th, The New Directions will be in New York for Nationals, where they’ll sing their original new song “Light Up The World“. The song was debuted on Ryan Seacrest yesterday and I give it two thumbs up – the song will definitely make it into my own personal playlist. It’s not available to download just yet, but you can pre-order it and it will be available on May 23rd.

The song is very catchy and upbeat. You can count on this being a big number for their summer concert tour. In my opinion, this is by far their best original song yet. Great job!

Listen to the hot new track after the jump…

When Oprah announced she was leaving daytime television, people were wondering who would be her heir apparent. Wonder no more. After watching just a short clip of Brittany’s new internet talk show, “Fondue For Two“, I’m convinced the dimwitted blond could have a runaway hit on her hands. Sure, the clip is just a promo for tonight’s episode of “Glee“, but it really does have the potential for a LOL talk show. At least the makings for a potential spin-off.

The video begins with an utterly delicious cheesy theme song. Brittany (Heather Morris) then pops up explaining her talk show combines her two favorite things- hot cheese and talking to people. Miss S. Pearce sits down for some girl talk with the school’s biggest gossips, Mercedes and Tina, while dipping food into a vat of cheese. I don’t want to reveal too much about the webisode because I don’t want to spoil it for you. So, you definitely have to watch it. Heather’s deadpan delivery always cracks me up. Watch it below and see what juicy gossip the girls share with each other.

Glee returned this week with an all new episode which felt less than mediocre in the music department but kept us drooling for more storyline developments for Will and his two women and Kurt and his potential return to McKinley High.

This coming episode of Glee titled Born This Way will quite obviously feature the Lady Gaga hit which Ryan Murphy had hinted would be utilized by the show at some point this season. The basic synopsis for the episode is that Lauren and Quinn compete for Prom Queen while Rachel contemplates having rhinoplasty. This all goes on while Will teaches the kids about self-acceptance and Emma deals with her obsessive-compulsive ways.

What’s really exciting is that this episode will run for 90 minutes instead of its regular 60 to include two more musical numbers that would have originally been cut from the program. One of the major plot arcs within the episode will be Karofsky coming to terms with his sexuality. Its also being said that this episode will set up the final three episode which focus on Santana’s love for Brittany as well. A new character named Dr. Shane will also make his first appearance in this episode. But without further ado, lets get a sneak peak of the Glee club singing Born This Way, shall we?

Charice Covers Celine Dion For “Glee”

In: Donovan, TV Shows

Technically, it’s a Eric Carmen cover, but most people associate “All By Myself” to the French-Canadian chanteuse, and rightfully so. Celine Dion owns this song. Maybe after watching and hearing Charice’s version, people will think of the pint-size singer instead. This isn’t the first time “All By Myself” has appeared on the show. During the second episode of the first season, Emma Pillsbury was shown singing SLASH sobbing along to the ballad in her car.

After making a splashing debut on the season premiere, Charice’s character, Sunshine Corazon, as been MIA. That is, until now. Sunshine finally reemerges on Glee’s new episode on Tuesday, “A Night of Neglect“, after a long hiatus. She pops up to help New Directions with their benefit concert, aimed at raising funds for their trip to Nationals. Fearing Sunshine is there to spy on the competition, Rachel and company are initially wary of her true intentions. Altruistic or sabotage? Watch the clip and decide for yourself.

YOWZA. According to a very reliable source, Michael Ausiello formerly of Entertainment Weekly and now with TVLine.com, the Grim Reaper is crashing Regionals. According to his sources, a character on the show will be singing their swan song prior to the big competition. The unexpected tragedy will have a significant impact on the characters and at the big event.

Got any guesses? If this rumor is true, I hope it’s a noteworthy character. I hate it when shows build up the hype, only to deliver a lame result. For instance, if the show kills off Principal Figgins or Coach Beiste, I’d be annoyed. If they’re talking impact, give me Puck, Mike Chang, or Blaine. If I had my way, based on this season, I’d offer up Mr. Schu. He’s been really annoying this year. What do you think about this ratings stunt? Glee To Debut 2 Original Songs

In: Donovan, Music

Somewhere out there, Journey is shedding a tear. Why? Because “Glee” is about to debut two original songs. For the first time in the show’s history, a song other than a cover will be sung by New Directions. If this experiment turns out to be a smashing success, Journey and other musical acts can kiss those huge royalties they’ve been cashing, “bye, bye, bye”.

The idea of the Glee club singing an original song was recently teased in an episode, when the group discussed the set list for the upcoming sectionals. The show enlisted pop hit maker Max Martin to create a hit track for the show. Martin who’s created hits for Britney Spears, Pink, Usher, Katy Perry to name a few, co-wrote one of Glee’s two original tracks. “Loser Like Me” is an energetic up-tempo ensemble track. The other track, “Get It Right” is a ballad written by an undisclosed writer. Lea Michele who plays Rachel Berry will get the honor of belting out that track. I expect it’ll be a little Celine Dion mixed with a dash of Barbra Streisand.

Kathy Griffin & Loretta Devine Guest Star on Glee

In: Donovan, TV Shows

Former D-Lister and Homorazzi.com favorite (see pic above), Kathy Griffin, is heading off to “Glee” to guest star in an upcoming episode. Griffin’s character will be a home-schooling Tea Party candidate named Tammy Jean. She will occupy one of the three judging spots at the upcoming regional competition.

Reportedly, Tammy Jean will be very Sarah Plain-esque. Sorta fitting considering Griffin loves Levi Johnston, Bristol Palin’s baby daddy. To say Kathy is stoked for her upcoming gig would be true. She tweeted, the following on Friday, “So excited!! It’s true!!

Joining Kathy on the panel will be original “Dreamgirls” Loretta Devine. She will play former stripper turned bible thumper, Sister Mary Constance. How fun!!! Devine and Griffin follow in the footsteps of Olivia Newton-John and Josh Groban who were the guest judges at last year’s competition.
