snackpocalypse

The First Lady wouldn’t appear in just any Funny or Die clip unless it fit her agenda. And “Snackpocalypse” does exactly that. Promoting healthy eating habits has been one of Michelle Obama’s main platforms since her husband was elected.

In a world where junk food is king, one girl dared to eat an apple a day. Chloe Moretz Grace plays the heroine who’s a hybrid of Katniss Everdeen (Hunger Games) and Tris Prior (Divergent). She’s joined by Teen Wolf’s Tyler Posey in the hilarious fake trailer. Check it out below.

If you were transported from the 1960s you’d probably mistaken an iPhone for a Pop-Tart as well. That’s just one of many things Christina Hendricks experiences in Funny or Die’s latest sketch. The Mad Men actress all of a sudden finds herself in a modern office complete with all of today’s technologies. Naturally, this is ripe for plenty of amusing moments.

The clip, however, ends on somewhat of an educational note. Hendricks doles out some stats about women in the workplace. “Did you know that almost 70 percent of the minimum-wage workforce is female, but only 15 percent of our Fortune 500 CEOS are?” Hendricks says. “I figure if we’re going to run our businesses like it’s the 1960s, I’m going to act like it.” Check out the clip below.

Ever wonder how much Mary Poppins makes? According to a Funny or Die skit, the iconic nanny makes only $7.25 an hour. In this day and age, that’s simply “Supercalifragilisticexpiali-BULLSH*T,” sings Kristen Bell.

Speaking of Bell, it’s uncanny how much the Veronica Mars actress resembles Julie Andrews in the beloved Disney musical. If they ever do a remake, Kristen would be an ideal choice. Watch the video below to watch Bell sing to the tune of “A Spoonful Of Sugar” while outlining why she deserves a three dollar wage increase.

When it was announced that Sofia Coppola would helm a live-action adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid, many immediately began speculating what her take on the classic fairytale would look like. This is a woman who’s known for her moody and aesthetically beautiful films including Marie Antoinette, The Virgin Suicides and The Bling Ring.

Funny or Die enlisted AnnaSophia Robb (The Carrie Diaries) and Evan Peters (American Horror Story: Coven) to play Ariel and Prince Eric respectively for what they envision Coppola’s version will look like.

Their parody is pretty spot on referencing Sofia’s previous work. For instance, Azalea Banks’ “212″ is featured in the spoof as it was in The Bling Ring. Also loved how the setting is at the Shellteau Marmont, clearly a jab at the actual Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood. Check out the amusing clip below.

Rita Ora & Hyuna Walk Off For Funny Or Die

To quote Project Runway Season 2′s Daniel Vosovic, “It’s a mother fucking walk off!” As gay men, whether we like to admit it or not, we love watching a walk off if not participating in one. I love showing my strut when I have liquid courage.

Rita Ora and PSY’s “Gangnam Style” co-star Hyuna show off their best sashays for Funny or Die’s latest clip titled, “Girl, You Better Walk.” The Brit and K-Pop artists go back and forth trying to out do each other with their signature walks. “Walking is the cornerstone of pop music all over the world, which is why singers need to have so many different walks at their disposal,” Ora says.

Watch the adorable clip below which ends with Rita being taught a few moves from 4Minute’s (Hyuna’s band) EDM hit “Whatcha Doin Today.” Sissy that walk ladies.

The more Nicholas Sparks film adaptations I watch, the more they tend to blend in together. Am I alone in thinking this? From The Notebook to A Walk to Remember and everything in between, no one writes tearjerkers like the 48-year-old novelist.

Funny or Die takes aim at Sparks’ signature style in their latest spoof titled The Hug. Starring Bryce Dallas Howard as the love optimist slash deranged stalker, the trailer tells the tale of a love at first sight experience gone awfully wrong. Seth Gabel’s case of mistaken identity that began with the titular hug will forever alter the rest of his life. Check out the hilarious parody below.
