First and foremost, Happy National Coming Out Day (NCOD) everyone. How do you plan on celebrating this gay holiday? Come out again? LOL. I kid.
The date of October 11 was chosen because it was the anniversary of the 1987 National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights where half a million people participated. In 1998, Robert Eichberg, a psychologist from New Mexico, and Jean O’Leary, an openly gay political leader from Los Angeles, made the holiday official and founded NCOD.
To mark the 25th anniversary, the Human Rights Campaign looks back at some of the trailblazing coming out moments in American media that raised the profile of LGBT Americans and sparked important dialogue about the fight for equality. Some of the famous LGBT celebrities featured in the clip include Ricky Martin, Jason Collins, Frank Ocean, Adam Lambert, Lance Bass and naturally Ellen DeGeneres.

If you caught Ellen Degeneres’ show yesterday, you met her sexy son Rico. Rumor has it Mario Lopez is his father. LOL. When Ellen offered him up to guest DJ Carmen Electra, she shouted her gays would love him. Preach sister. The things I would do ;)
Obviously, it’s not really her child. The talk show host trotted out the chiseled Adonis in response to Clint Eastwood’s hot son Scott receiving massive press due to his Town & Country spread. If he looks familiar, his actual name is Joel Rush. He was the runner-up on the ABC reality series True Beauty and had memorable roles in gay flicks including Eating Out: Drama Camp, Eating Out: The Open Weekend and Love or Whatever. Check out the video below, along with several shirtless pics of Joel.
Ellen DeGeneres first hosted the Oscars back in 2007 for the 79th Academy Awards. She became the first openly gay or lesbian person to land the gig and earned an Emmy nomination for her work. The 55-year-old entertainer finally received another invitation from the Academy to do it all over again. Hopefully, she wasn’t waiting by the phone. Waiting for the second date call is always the worst ;)
DeGeneres broke the news via Twitter saying, “It’s official: I’m hosting the #Oscars! I’d like to thank @TheAcademy, my wife Portia and, oh dear, there goes the orchestra.” Producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said she was the perfect choice as “there are few stars today who have Ellen’s gift for comedy, with her great warmth and humanity.” Those who weren’t fans of Seth Macfarlane’s edgier and acidic performance will be happier with Ellen at the helm for the 86th annual Academy Awards. DeGeneres will be seen as a safer pair of hands.
Too bad, Hugh Jackman isn’t back. Loved the telecast from his year. It was the gayest Oscar ceremony in recent memory. As much as I love Ellen, I wasn’t overly impressed with her first outing. Hopefully, she’ll be more at ease with first time jitters out of the way. Check out her first Oscar opening monologue below.
After two years stuck in the runner-up slot, Oprah Winfrey returns to the top of the heap. For the fifth time ever, the 59-year-old mogul tops Forbes annual list of the 100 Most Powerful Celebrities. Unlike most lists from the publication, this list isn’t solely based on earnings and net worth. Rather, a combination of press mentions, social media power and naturally cha-ching is used in their formula. For the first time ever, a marketability score has been added to the mix.
Last year’s top dog, Jennifer Lopez, drops to No. 12. No doubt in part to her leaving American Idol. Even though she received less press mentions and lost that salary, abandoning that sinking ship was a wise career move. Even with J. Lo’s absence, six of the Top 10 spots are occupied by women. Check out the entire Top 100 list below.
The cast and creators of Friends have long maintained that a reunion will never happen. Never say never as the saying goes. Slowly we’re inching ever so close to that Friends reunion.
We’ve seen a combination of pairings of the former Friends on various shows. Courteney Cox appeared on Matthew Perry’s now-canceled Go On. Both Jennifer Aniston and Cox appeared together on Cougar Town and Dirt. Lisa Kudrow reunited with Matt Leblanc on Web Therapy and also popped up on Cougar Town. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe this is the first time we’ve had three of them appear together since the NBC show went off the air.
Aniston called Cox and Perry to help promote her co-hosting stint on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today. In the promo clip, Aniston arrives at Perry’s house for advice since he’s co-hosted with Ellen previously. She mistakenly calls him David [Schwimmer] and jokes about his canceled show Go On. Soon after Cox pops up and also has problems remembering names. She refers to Jen as Lisa [Kudrow]. Check out the video below which also features DeGeneres and Portia DeRossi making brief cameos.
Forget flowers. I like the way Ellen DeGeneres congratulates people. The talk show host must have male strippers on her speed dial. No matter the occasion, DeGeneres likes to call on her army of shirtless guys to complete whatever task. She’s my kind of gal. Gwyneth Paltrow, you’re one lucky beyotch. The 40-year-old actress received a crown, sash and a couple bump and grinds from three Chippendale-looking mofos. All because People labeled her the Most Beautiful Woman in the world. Here’s how she found out about the honor.
“My publicist of like 22 years, Stephen Huvane, sent me an email. And honestly I was like this is a joke. I reread it three times. I was like oh, he sent this to the wrong client. Like there’s no way,” Gwyneth said. “My name wasn’t on it….I was like oh this is not for me and it was actually psychologically interesting because for a minute I really thought that someone was playing a joke on me. I talked about it with my shrink.”
Paltrow also discussed the controversial dress she wore at the Iron Man 3 premiere. The outfit, made partly of sheer, exposed enough of the actress to warrant her people to scramble for a razor just moments before walking the red carpet. TMI. Check out both videos below.
Yesterday, I shared with you the videos from the final rounds of Ellen DeGeneres’ underwear model search. After narrowing it down, she went with a sexy guy named Mike who I think makes a great choice.
Wasting no time at all, Ellen has put him to work in his first underwear commercial. This is no ordinary underwear commercial – it’s a live one. That’s right, Ellen had him standing on a rotating platform while she narrated for the commercial. Her narration prompted him to make certain movements like picking up a lucky penny, playing football, and even just flexing his arms and abs.
Watch the funny and very sexy video below and as Ellen says, “Gluteus Mikesimus, everybody!”
As you may have already been aware, Ellen DeGeneres recently started an Underwear Model Search on her show to find a suitable hottie for her signature undies This week she crowned the wiener… I mean winner.
The final five finalists took part in a sexy finale catwalk and answered some final questions that Ellen had for them. Once that was complete, the final three hotties took part in a “Know Or Go” competition where they had to know the answer otherwise she’d push the button and literally and figuratively drop them out of the competition. Questions like, “How many inches…” LOL.
Check out the final rounds of the competition and see which man model came out on top… possibly thanks to his bottom – wink ;) Enjoy!
