Another season of So You Think You Dance premieres tomorrow. Can you believe it’s the tenth season? It just seems like yesterday when the dancing competition began. In its inaugural season, it was all about crowning America’s Best Dancer. Realizing it was just one big popularity contest, it quickly changed to America’s favorite dancer. For the purpose of this post, it’s all about crowning America’s hottest dancer. My kind of contest.
Over the years, FOX’s dancing competition has featured a bevy of flexible studs, dropping it like it’s hot while shirtless and sweaty. Every season there seems to be one or a couple male contestants that captivate the hearts and eyes of teenage girls and horny gay men everywhere. I decided to go back through all the seasons and pick the Top 15 hottest male dancers to ever compete on the show. Will recently-anointed winner Chehon Wespi-Teschopp make the cut? One particular season dominated my list, owning all Top 3 slots. Find out which one and my HOTTEST pick below.
The “Dancing With The Stars” Season 12 cast was announced live on Monday night’s “The Bachelor” and just like the elimination show, the producers dragged things out before announcing the celeb-pro pairings. Couldn’t they just have revealed the celebrities’ partners that same night. Oh, well. So which of the returning professionals are coming back? Pretty much everyone from last season with one notable exception.
As reported here a few weeks earlier, fan favorite and record holder of the most mirror ball trophies, Derek Hough, is taking a season off to focus on his film career. Coming in to fill in his ballroom shoes, is Russian hottie, Dmitry Chaplin. Welcome back you sexy beast. Unfortunately, both Julianne Hough and Edyta Sliwinska aren’t coming back, much to the chagrin of their fans. Hopefully the producers will woo them back for lucky season 13.
In lieu of the Dancing With The Stars Season 11 finale creeping upon us, I thought it was about time to grab the reigns and do a Top Ten countdown of the hottest male pros the show has seen throughout its 11 seasons. Patrick and I took some time over a glass of wine to contend the 15 male pros against each other. It wasn’t an easy task by any means as the number 1 and 2 spots were fought over and ended with a win (by me) over a best out of 3 “rock-paper-scissors” battle.
Five male pros didn’t make the cut unfortunately and they will get their honorable mentions at the end of the countdown. Without further ado, let us begin the countdown.
Bring out the vats of spray-on tan. Seriously, how much do they use throughout the season? With the largest cast ever assembled for “Dancing with the Stars”, the season nine premiere spanned three nights. On Monday, the men took center stage while the women took the spotlight on Tuesday. For the first time ever, each celebrity was required to perform two dances on their respective night. Yikes! Adding insult to injury, the celebrities this year are restricted to a maximum amount of time they’re allowed to practice. Last season saw such a record number of injuries that the producers are taking extra precautions to ensure that doesn’t happen again. By throwing two dances and less training time at the celebrities, you know this is going to spell T.R.A.I.N.W.R.E.C.K. ABC, be sure to give those “DWTS” producers a raise. Wink.
Since there are so many celebs to talk about, I’m just going to briefly glaze over their performances and group them into four distinct groups.
