Jordan Roseman aka DJ Earworm released his first original track weeks ago, but today he returned to his bread and butter. His annual United State of Pop video mashup, highlighting the top hits of the year, is hands down my favorite. Typically, he chooses the top 25 tracks based off the Billboard charts. This year, he went a step further and mashed up the 50 biggest hits.

The five-minute masterpiece titled “50 Shades of Pop” is “more eclectic mix than it was five years ago,” Earworm explains to Billboard about the diversity of tunes that blew up the charts this year. With that being said, Taylor Swift has a whopping four tracks in the mix. Close behind is The Weekend with three. Other artists with multiple offerings are Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Fetty Wap, Meghan Trainor and Ed Sheeran.

He even made room for Adele’s massive late 2015 entry, “Hello.” If you hated this year’s song of the summer, fear not, OMI’s “Cheerleader” is only shown/heard briefly. Check out this year’s offering below. It’s his best one in recent memory.

Earworm Releases First Original Track ‘Drone’

In: Donovan, Music

Jordan Roseman aka DJ Earworm is best known for his amazing annual United State of Pop mashups featuring the year’s biggest hits. The San Francisco-based mashup extraordinaire is heading towards uncharted territory. He just released his first original song, titled “Drone.” Here’s what he told Billboard about the track.

“I wrote and produced ‘Drone,’ the first of many original songs I’m releasing independently on my record label Earworm Music Group. My fans know me primarily for my annual United State of Pop mash-ups, so I’m really excited to finally share my original music with them.”

Fittingly, for the lyric clip, he includes footage he captured with actual drones as they soared high above California. Overall, the song isn’t half bad. The beat is hypnotic and seductive but the hook isn’t catchy enough, IMHO. Not exactly sure whose voice is featured on the track. Earworm doesn’t provide details and simply credits ‘anonymous‘ on the lyric clip. Give “Drone” a listen below

DJ Earworm is best known for his wicked year-end mashups featuring the biggest songs of the past year. Who knew he was such a Carrie Underwood fan? Given his love for everything electro-pop and dance, I would’ve never guessed. But apparently he just adores the American Idol Season 4 winner so much, he created a four-minute homage to her.

He crafted a video mashup highlighting the 32-year-old country sensation’s biggest hits including “Something in the Water,” “Little Toy Guns,” “Blown Away,” “Before He Cheats,” “Jesus, Take the Wheel,” “Two Black Cadillacs,” “Good Girl,” “Cowboy Casanova,” “See You Again,” “Wasted,” “So Small,” “All-American Girl,” “Last Name,” “Undo It” and more. Check it out below.

DJ Earworm, in my opinion, is one of the best mashup artists around. He never ceases to amaze me. Definitely wish I had his mad skills.

In honor of this weekend’s Grammy Awards, the talented DJ crafted a short video mashup for E!’s Live at the Red Carpet special. Check out his latest masterpiece below featuring some of this year’s nominated acts.

Every year DJ Earworm takes the 25 biggest songs of the year, according to Billboard, and creates a wicked mashup. It’s one of the things I look forward most to during the holiday season. Unlike previous years, the 2013 edition titled “Living The Fantasy” is a bit more mellow and subdued. There’s usually one piece of music DJ Earworm picks as the basis for every mashup. This year he primarily used Swedish House Mafia’s “Don’t You Worry Child.”

“It’s a little darker-themed, I think,” he explained in an interview with Billboard. “The ballads seem to be a lot more present than they have been in many years, and the dance music is having less strong of a pull.”

It’s not my favorite of his, but he’s still one of the best mashup artists out there. Personally, I much prefer his peppy and upbeat Summer 2013 edition. When I hear a mashup, I want to dance my ass off. I suppose DJ Earworm’s creation is a reflection of people’s changing musical tastes. EDM which was once unstoppable on the pop charts has begun to dwindle in popularity. Check out “United State of Pop 2013 (Living the Fantasy)” below.

DJ Earworm Mashes Up Summer 2013’s Biggest Hits

In: Donovan, Music

What’s your song of the summer so far? Is it Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky?” How about “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke? Perhaps it’s Pitbull and Christina Aguilera’s catchy dance anthem “Feel This Moment?” DJ Earworm definitely considers them as viable contenders for the 2013 summer crown. The musical genius has once again worked his magic and delivered another wicked mashup. Praise the dance gods he doesn’t just do a year-end one.

Along with the aforementioned tracks, DJ Earworm includes hit tracks from Demi Lovato, Rihanna, Icona Pop, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Zedd, and Justin Bieber to name a few. Props to my buddy Trevor Guthrie for getting a nod for his collaboration with Armin van Buuren in the mashup.

As much as I love DJ Earworm’s latest masterpiece, I feel he unfairly snubbed Selena Gomez’s “Come & Get It,” Mariah Carey’s “#Beautiful,” Justin Timberlake’s “Mirrors,” and Miley Cyrus’ oddly addicting “We Can’t Stop.” I’ve definitely have all those songs on heavy rotation. Check out Earworm’s new mash below.

Well, this is a pleasant surprise. Rumor had it that DJ Earworm’s music video mash-up wouldn’t go live until December 25. Looks like Christmas came early. The music maestro unveiled his newest masterpiece and it really elevates the previously-released audio.

Ever since, I heard his “United States of Pop” 2009 roundup, I’ve anticipated DJ Earworm’s yearly masterpiece highlighting the year’s biggest tracks. Dare I say it, but I think it’s his best one since his 2009 mashup.

I was in Portland this past weekend and heard this wicked mashup on the radio. Within a few seconds, I had a feeling it was from my favorite DJ artist. And low and behold I was right. DJ Earworm definitely has own distinctive style- upbeat and melodious. Born Jordan Roseman, Earworm has been dazzling us with his annual mash-up since 2007. Check out his 2012 edition, titled “Shine Brighter”, featuring Bruno Mars, Carly Rae Jepsen, Ke$ha, Nicki Minaj, PSY, Gotye, Katy Perry, Maroon 5, One Direction, fun. and many, many more including Phillip Phillips’ American Idol coronation song, “Home“.
