This weekend, Oz: The Great And Powerful opened in theaters after tons of promotion and much anticipation from Oz lovers. The film brought in an estimated $80.2 million this weekend which is pretty incredible and I’d say it lives up to it’s name. The film stars James Franco, Michelle Williams, Mila Kunis and Rachel Weisz and has exceeded expectations so far in terms of it’s performance. Fellow cast member Tommy did a movie review for the film and he seemed to think it was just okay, but perhaps that’s just him. Did any of you see it?
Also opening this weekend was a crime thriller called Dead Man Down, starring Colin Farrell and Noomi Rapace. The filmed brought in an estimated $5.5 million, landing in fourth place at the box office this weekend.
Find out what film has reached an estimated $116 million as of this weekend and how the rest of the top 10 films did in theaters this weekend by checking out the list below.
The trailer for an upcoming crime thriller called Dead Man Down is out, directed by Niels Arden Oplev who directed The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. The film stars Colin Farrell and Noomi Rapace (who played the lead in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) and is set in New York City where a crime lord’s right-hand man is seduced by one of his boss’s victims, a woman seeking retribution.
Farrell is the one who plays Victor, the right hand man to an underground New York crime lord, played by the amazing Terrence Howard. Victor is spotted killing on the job by Beatrice and she reaches out to him to help her get revenge on what Terrance’s character did to her – “Blood demands blood,” they say in the trailer.
The film also stars Dominic Cooper and hits theatres on March 8. Check out the trailer below!
