Before I get to the results from Round 2 of the 2012 Man Crush Showdown, I wanted to address a technical glitch. The poll was supposed to close at 11:59 pm on December 26th, but it never did. To keep the results in line with the designated voting period, I went through the logs and voided all votes cast past 12:00 am December 27th. In the end, it really didn’t change the Top 4 with exception to a switcheroo between first and second place, and also third and fourth. Without further ado, let’s get to the final amended results.
Coming in first place is Jayson Blair with 861 total votes (1379 original minus 518 votes voided). In the runner-up slot was Ryan Guzman with 830 eligible votes (1507-677). Both Blair and Guzman automatically earn a slot in the finals. In third place and stands a good chance of advancing via one of the four wildcard slots is Taylor Kinney. After subtracting his invalid votes (3), he ended up with 765 votes. Just in case you were wondering what each Man Crush in Round 2 got subtracted from their totals, click here. Numbers are above the poll.
With only one round left before the finals next week, the Top 10 is quickly coming together. Check out this crop of my previous weekly Man Crushes and see who’ll join Brandon Quinn, Mario Casas, Jayson Blair and Ryan Guzman. Man Crush Showdown Dates
The Top 2 from each round automatically advance to the finals. Four wildcard spots will be given to the Man Crushes who garnered the four highest vote totals from all rounds tabulated (winners excluded).
Speaking for myself, when there’s turkey, stuffing, gravy and pumpkin pie in front of me, I definitely overindulge. I just have no will power when it comes to the holidays. Picking Colt Prattes as my Man Crush this week, I thought would motivate me to hit the gym. If you’ve seen him in Pink’s “Try” music video, you know dude has an amazing body. And in the spirit of Thanksgiving… I’d like to “stuff” his “turkey”. LOL. Whatever that means.
Prattes is a Broadway actor-dancer who’s appeared in such productions as How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, West Side Story and Legally Blonde: The Musical to name a few. He’s also participated in the US national tour of A Chorus Line and appeared in Planet Hollywood’s Surf The Musical featuring songs from The Beach Boys. For this year’s annual Broadway Bares event, Colt was chosen as the coverboy for their ad campaign, posing as Prince Charming.
Given his size and muscular frame, it’s shocking how well and agile he moves. He literally is poetry in motion in that P!nk video. If you thought Colt was gifted with great genes… yes he was. LOL. That said, there’s a “before” picture I’ve added below which was taken prior to him taking up bodybuilding more seriously. Not that he’s obese or pudgy by any means, but he’s definitely more cut now. Check Colt out in all his glory below. Gobble, gobble.
Today, P!nk released her music video for “Try,” her latest single from her The Truth About Love Album. The video was directed by Floria Sigismondi and choreographed by The Golden Boyz. P!nk had previously said that this was her favorite video ever to shoot, and it’s not hard to see why. Not only does she spend most of the video in the arms of a hot, chiseled dancer (Colt Prattes) who plays her love interest, but she also really goes for it in terms of dance.
The dance in the video is almost like a contemporary piece you’d expect Mia Michaels on SYTYCD to choreograph, so I guess P!nk wanted to beat them to the punch. No only is the dancing great, but the emotion and the acting on P!nks part kept me captivated the whole time. Not going to lie, the abs on the hottie kept me interested too. The two were partially covered in rainbow paint as they demonstrated their complicated, yet passionate relationship.
In the end, the two meet in the desert and leap into each others arms, showing their willingness to “Try” in their relationship. This video gets two thumbs up! Check it out below.
