Looks like Christina Aguilera is echoing Teresa Guidice’s Real Housewives of New Jersey tagline, “Haters are gonna hate, but I just love, love, love.” The 32-year-old singer debuts a feel-good all-inclusive music video for “Let There Be Love” which promotes the end to racism, sexism, bullying and just to love one another. Who else loves this more genuine, kinder and gentler Aguilera? I certainly do. It’s amazing what losing a few pounds will do to lift someone’s mood ;)
Why she never released this track as an official single is beyond me. It’s hands down the best one off her last album, Lotus. The clip features home footage featuring her son Max adorably dancing, cameos from famous friends Christina Milian and Nicole Richie, and more behind-the-scenes moments.
XTina’s clip is in conjunction with a really, really, really long love letter she posted on her site. Titled, “From My Heart To Yours… Let There Be Love,” the letter expresses her gratitude for her fans’ ongoing support and devotion. She also goes on to ruminate about her art, love, and life itself. I’ve posted the extremely lengthy letter after her new clip below.
Typically, I don’t like writing about Perez Hilton, but his latest move against Lady Gaga is too hilarious to ignore. Before I discuss it, let’s do a quick rundown of the chain of events leading up to it.
A few years ago Lady Gaga and the celebrity blogger were the best of friends, with some even crediting Perez for putting her on the map. Something behind the scenes must’ve happened along the way because the two are embroiled in a bitter feud. Recently, the “Applause” singer accused Hilton of stalking her. She tweeted the following:
@perezhilton STAY AWAY FROM ME + MY FAMILY YOU ARE SICK TRYING TO RENT AN APARTMENT IN MY BUILDING TO STALK ME. LEAVE ME ALONE!!!
— Lady Gaga (@ladygaga) August 18, 2013
DO I NEED TO BE SHOT IT IN THE HEAD FOR PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND THAT HIM AND EVERYONE ELSE THAT HARASSES ME HAS GONE TOO FAR? IM A HUMAN BEING
— Lady Gaga (@ladygaga) August 18, 2013
Allegedly, the falling out began when Perez sent a photo of her in a wheelchair with a snarky message after her hip accident. Gaga tweeted, “Still have the text Perez sent me of me in a wheelchair w the words KARMA written across + Madonna pointing a gun at me. Day of my accident.”
Perez responded with a letter which I’ve posted at the end of this post. His statement resulted in numerous death threats by Gaga’s fans. The blogger has retaliated in a hilarious way that directly benefits Christina Aguilera. Find out how below.
Simply effing amazing. I know that word is beyond overused these days, but it’s the perfect one to describe this truly sensational performance. Comedienne Christina Bianco covers Bonnie Tyler’s 80s classic “Total Eclipse of The Heart” while impersonating 19 divas. Her Julie Andrews and Christina Aguilera moments are EVERYTHING. Also impressive are her Bette Midler, Gwen Stefani, Celine Dion, Barbra Streisand, Cher and Alanis Morissette impersonations.
It’s uncanny how she can switch up her voice to sound exactly like these ladies. She starts off her performance with Adele, which IMHO is her weakest, but it definitely builds from there. Check out the video below, I guarantee you’ll enjoy it.
The 90s are so “in” right now, Christina Aguilera is jumping on the retro bandwagon by looking like her former self. The 32-year-old singer debuted her slimmer figure at the 2013 Television Critics Association’s Summer Press Tour for The Voice. While it’s not “Genie In The Bottle” skinny (after all, she was only a teenager back then), there’s no denying her new body is pretty slammin’.
Just a few months ago, she debuted an estimated 20-pound weight loss on The Voice season four finale. It would appear she’s lost even more weight since then. The “Beautiful” singer attributes doing exercises she enjoys like strength work instead of intense cardio as the key to her successful body makeover. Check out the results below.
Alejandro Fernandez’s duet with Christina Aguilera first surfaced back in May. At long last, we finally have the music video for their scorching Spanish collaboration. I wonder if the cause for delay was to allow XTina to reach her goal weight. After all, she’s practically wearing nothing in most of the clip. Whatever the reason, the 32-year-old looks sensational. Her boobies could have a Victoria’s Secret commercial of their own.
In the clip for “Hoy Tengo Ganas De Ti,” Auggie plays the sultry seductress while Fernandez plays dark and brooding leading man to a tee. Given the emotionally-charged nature of the song, the visual is equally as melodramatic. It’s like watching a mini glamorous telenovela. I’m sorta obsessed with it.
Christina should really consider dropping another Mi Reflejo-type album again. This duet premiered at No. 1 on Mexican iTunes and was certified platinum in just a little over two weeks. When was the last time that happened with any of Christina’s English singles? #JustSayin’ Check out the video below.
What’s your song of the summer so far? Is it Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky?” How about “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke? Perhaps it’s Pitbull and Christina Aguilera’s catchy dance anthem “Feel This Moment?” DJ Earworm definitely considers them as viable contenders for the 2013 summer crown. The musical genius has once again worked his magic and delivered another wicked mashup. Praise the dance gods he doesn’t just do a year-end one.
Along with the aforementioned tracks, DJ Earworm includes hit tracks from Demi Lovato, Rihanna, Icona Pop, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Zedd, will.i.am and Justin Bieber to name a few. Props to my buddy Trevor Guthrie for getting a nod for his collaboration with Armin van Buuren in the mashup.
As much as I love DJ Earworm’s latest masterpiece, I feel he unfairly snubbed Selena Gomez’s “Come & Get It,” Mariah Carey’s “#Beautiful,” Justin Timberlake’s “Mirrors,” and Miley Cyrus’ oddly addicting “We Can’t Stop.” I’ve definitely have all those songs on heavy rotation. Check out Earworm’s new mash below.
It’s a long weekend up here in my neck of the woods, ergo the delay of posts today. Sufficed to say, a good time was had by all yesterday and I’m paying the price now. Watching last night’s Billboard Music Awards today was the perfect remedy to bring me back to life. After seeing Taylor Swift walk away with eight awards, I had to share my five takeaways from the event held in Las Vegas. Find out what they are below.
This Old School Flashback Battle was inspired by a Facebook thread between a few friends of mine including Dave- a recent guest host on our Homorazzi show. What started as a conversation about Selena Gomez concert tickets (don’t get me started) quickly evolved to the age old debate… Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera? While I find both ladies talented in their own right *cough* Christina is better *cough*, it always fascinates me how passionate people are about either artist. Brit lip syncs, Christina is fat, Spears is crazy, Aguilera is a bitch, the list goes on. That may be all true, but one thing they have in common is both made splashy debuts with their first albums.
While Spears’ …Baby One More Time sold more albums than Aguilera’s self-titled album (14 million compared to 9 million domestically), X-Tina notched more chart toppers than Brit (three compared to one). Christina’s album ranked No. 23 on Billboards 2000s decade chart, ahead of Britney’s ranking of No. 81. To be fair, Spears released hers in the 90s and ranked No. 29 on the 1990-99 decade chart as well.
When it comes to critical acclaim, Christina holds a slight edge. Her powerful pipes helped upset Britney by surprising everyone at the Grammys by winning the Best New Artist Award. In the end, all that doesn’t matter. It’s all about the fans. Regardless of how you feel about each singer today, revisit the singles from each debut album and try to be impartial in determining which ex-Mouseketter had the better first effort.
