The first Avenger is back. Marvel Comics just unleashed the first trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Chris Evans and his bulging biceps return for a second go round as the titular superhero. This time he’s joined by Scarlet Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Redford and Sebastian Stan who returns as the Winter Soldier. We also see the first glimpse of Anthony Mackie as the Falcon.

The sequel takes place after Steve Rogers helped save New York City in The Avengers. He’s now living in Washington, DC trying to adjust to modern life after being unearthed from a 70-year icy sleep. I know I’d be cranky ;)

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, The Winter Soldier also stars Emily VanCamp, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo and Hayley Atwell. It comes out April 4, 2014. I wasn’t completely in love with the first film, but this one looks really good. Check out the spankin’ new trailer below.

To some, this property wouldn’t be considered a fixer-upper, but for me I would. The color scheme just isn’t my thing, but the view is beautiful. I also can’t see Chris Evans living here. I would expect a more lavish abode for Captain America. The 31-year-old actor must have big plans for the 1940-built home. According to property records, he was engaged in a heated bidding war to purchase it. Reportedly, he shelled out $3.52 million for his new Hollywood Hills home.

Sitting above Laurel Canyon, the home is completely walled and gated, marketed as a ”great celebrity or executive enclave experience.” The 4,599 square foot property has 3 bedrooms, 4 baths, a pool and spa.

Currently, Evans still has an existing residence in the Hills which he purchased back in 2007. Perhaps this is just an investment property. The previous owner purchased it for just $1.9 million in 2012 and flipped it in less than a year. Maybe he’s looking to do the same. Check out the latest addition to Evan’s real estate portfolio below.

Yesterday, I posted about the winners at the 2013 GLAAD Media Awards along with former President Bill Clinton’s speech. Today, GLAAD uploaded a few more videos from the star-studded event that took place at the J.W. Marriott Los Angeles at L.A. Live on Saturday, April 20.

We have Darren Criss singing “Call Me Maybe.” Before you release a collective huge groan, the Glee star performs it differently. He does it with the “original lyrics” which happen to include Prop 8, DOMA, same-sex adoption and all kinds of LGBT references. I’m curious to know why GLAAD didn’t share Kelly Rowland’s performance with us.

Next we have Chris Evans joining his openly-gay brother Scott and their mother at the podium. The family banters back and forth about familial matters. It’s cute to see the Evans brothers interact.

For the event, both Betty White and Alex Pettyfer auctioned off kisses to the highest bidder. I wonder which attendee scored a chance to plant a big wet one on the Magic Mike star. Lucky mofo. As much as you’d think Alex was the main draw, it would seem that White was the one most desired. Not only did Pettyfer steal a kiss from her, but Cloris Leachman as well. She burst onto the stage trying to tongue the Hot In Cleveland actress.

Check out all the aforementioned videos, along with clips of Harvey Weinstein and Jennifer Lawrence introducing Bill Clinton and Drew Barrymore kicking the event off.

Imagine my delight when I checked my email this morning and saw a press release from Marvel Studios. Not only did it reveal cast info, a bit of the plot, but it also gives a first look at Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America in the sequel.

Titled Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the film takes place after The Avengers, and will feature Steve Rogers/Captain America as he adjusts to living in the modern world. He will also be teaming up with Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) to fight a new villain in Washington, D.C. Dum dum dummmm.

Even though he looked like he died in the first film, Sebastian Stan is back to reprise his role as Bucky Barnes who becomes the Winter Soldier. Also returning are Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter and Toby Jones as Arnim Zola. Samuel L Jackson once again will appear as Nick Fury. They’ll all be joined by newbies Robert Redford as senior S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Alexander Pierce, Georges St-Pierre as Georges Batroc, Emily VanCamp as Agent 13. Uh oh, things are about to get Revenge-y. Check out the full pic of Chris Evans as Captain America below.

When you really look into, you’d be surprised how many celebrities have gay siblings. The four above are only scratching the surface. Speaking of which, one of them are involved in a mini-scandal thanks to their LGBT relative. Here’s what the sibling wrote on their Facebook after a run-in with the law.

“Most ridiculous night of my life in LA so far. At least I made it a year before getting arrested.”

According to TMZ, said sibling was arrested the other night in Los Angeles. Allegedly, he was arrested for attempting to purchase illegal narcotics from an undercover LAPD officer posing as a drug dealer. Find out who the culprit is below.

This match-up came to mind after writing about GQ Australia’s Men of the Year cover featuring Hemsworth.

Believe it or not, we’ve never pitted Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans against each other. In our previous Who’d You Rather battles, we’ve faced-off Hemsworth and Evans against their respective brothers Liam and Scott. Not surprisingly, both Chrises prevailed over their sibling. Since both starred in the blockbuster The Avengers this summer, I thought I’d ask our readers which Chris turned their crank more. It’s definitely Sophie’s Choice isn’t it?

Hemsworth’s big break in his native Australia was landing a role on the popular soap, Home and Away. The 29-year-old then headed stateside and popped up as Captain Kirk’s father in Star Trek. Soon, roles in other blockbuster films followed including Thor, The Avengers and Snow White & The Huntsman. As excited as I am for him to appear in Thor 2, I’m really looking forward to seeing him in the much-delayed remake of Red Dawn, finally hitting theaters later this month. Hemsworth is married to Spanish actress Elsa Pataky with whom he has a daughter with.

The trailer has just been released for the Dimension Films “true story” movie called The Iceman. The film centers around Richard Kuklinski, a loving husband, devoted father, and ruthless killer. He is believed to have killed 100 people between 1964 and 1986.

The film is directed by Ariel Vroman and features a pretty awesome cast. Richard Kuklinski is played by Michael Shannon, and his wife Deborah is played by Winona Ryer. Other big names include Chris Evans (the creepy guy in the top right of the header photo), James Franco (Yum!_, David Schwimmer (Ross from Friends!). Ray Liotta (the guy from…all of the movies), and Stephen Dorff (also yum!).

Such a creepy story and I can’t believe this actually happened! The film doesn’t hit theaters until Spring 2013. Check out the trailer below.

Movie Review: The Avengers

In: Movies, Tommy D

Today is the day! This is a movie that pretty much every comic book or superhero nerd has been waiting for. After a while bunch of movies of the individual characters and so many years of planning, the mega motion picture THE AVENGERS hits theatres…and I got to see a special advance screening of it.

Going into the Avengers I had to leave a few things at the door.

  • 1. The Captain American movie was meh at best.
  • 2. Black Widow was GARBAGE in Iron Man 2 with absolutely no Russian accent
  • 3. BOTH Hulk movies were terrible and a complete waste of time.

I left those three major points at the door and went into The Avengers with my nerd family, if there were any three people that deserved to see this movie it was them. Let me tell you we were not disappointed.
