For TV lovers, ending the holidays is a breath of fresh air when our favorite series’ return to their rightful time slots with new episodes for us to enjoy. On Tuesday, January 10, Glee will debut their first new episode back titled Yes/No. A lot is about to go down in this episode so make sure you’re holding on to your hat.
One of the most exciting moments for the show will probably be the introduction of guest star Nene Leakes. However, I am more excited personally for the rendition of Summer Nights from Grease sung by Amber Riley & Chord Overstreet aka Mercedes and Sam . At the end of season two, it looked like they had a thing going, but on return from the break, Sam had moved away and Mercedes had moved on. Will love rekindle for these two?
While only the audio of the song has been revealed, I can tell you that I think it will be one of those Glee numbers that is actually memorable from the season. Not to mention, the crew packed up and headed to the original location where they filmed the famous outdoor Rydell High scenes. And from the screenshots from the episode, it looks like they nail some of the famous images from the movie’s iconic number. Listen to Summer Nights below.

When “Glee” decided to demote Chord Overstreet to recurring status from series regular, the actor said “no thanks” and left the show completely to focus on his music. Why not chase that solo stardom, right? A few months later, “Glee” realized the error of their ways and brought Overstreet’s Sam Evans back to the halls of McKinley High. Thankfully for all of us, Chord accepted their offer. I definitely missed Trouty Mouth.
If you were curious to know what Chord worked on during his sabbatical from the Fox Show, wonder no more. The 22-year-old actor’s original song “Beautiful Girl” just leaked online. It’s a simple stripped down mid-tempo track reminiscent of bands like The Fray and OneRepublic. I wonder if his girlfriend, Emma Roberts (Scream 4), served as inspiration for the piano-accompanied track. I’m sure “Beautiful Girl” will appeal to Overstreet’s Glee teenage fan base. Listen to his track and see if it brings out the teenage girl inside of you.

On Tuesday’s mid-season finale of “Glee”, we have Chord Overstreet aka Trouty Mouth’s highly-anticipated return to the hallowed halls of McKinley High. I don’t know about you, but I’ve missed that floopy blond hair and those big fish lips. His character Sam Evans is eager to pick things up with his ex-girlfriend Mercedes (Amber Riley). Problem is, Mercedes is attached right not. But since this is “Glee“, I’m sure that relationship isn’t going to last long.
Unlike Mercedes, Sam is welcomed with open arms over at New Directions. Why wouldn’t they? With Rachel Berry suspended and prohibited from competing at Sectionals, Mr. Schue’s show choir needs all the help it can get. They definitely have an uphill battle, especially after checking out The Troubletones’ sectional performance. Shelby Corcoran’s girls kill it, correction, KILL IT on the stage. I absolutely loved it and found myself rocking out to it while sitting at my computer desk. Check it out below and see for yourself.

Looks like someone’s about to shake their bon bon at McKinley High. Out-and-proud Ricky Martin is adding some serious gay musical cred to his resume. The “Livin La Vida Loca” singer just signed on to guest star in an upcoming episode of the show’s third season. According to TVLine, Martin will appear as “the hottest Spanish teacher ever in the history of Ohio.” Sounds like an acting stretch for Martin. NOT. He could easily earn the hottest title for the entire Midwest without even blinking an eye.
Isn’t it funny how there seems to be an overabundance of Spanish teachers at McKinley High. First off, lest we forget, but Will Schuester is technically the Spanish teacher at the school. Then, during one of her guest appearances on the show, Gwyneth Paltrow also taught español. And now it’s Ricky’s turn to teach the student body how to roll their Rs. Who knew the state of Ohio loved Spanish so much? Martin is set to sing at least two numbers in the January episode. Any predictions on what he’ll sing?
Praise the “Glee” gods. That sexy trouty mouth is coming back to grace us with his juicy lips on a weekly basis. According to TVLine.com, Chord Overstreet and the producers are in the final stages of negotiations to bring him back. Over the summer, fans of the show were shocked that Overstreet’s option to return wasn’t picked up. When the show heard the public outcry, they offered Chord to stay on as a recurring character. He politely declined and wanted to focus on his music career. A few months later, it seems both parties have had a change of heart.
“We missed Chord and Chord missed us,” says a source close to the show tells TVLine. “It’s a win-win.”
Whatever the reason Chord is coming back, I’m excited. At the end of last season, Mercedes (Amber Riley) and Chord’s character Sam Evans had a budding romance. I was really looking forward to seeing where the writers took their relationship, but since Sam left, Mercedes moved on. Hopefully, when Sam appears on this season’s eighth episode, he’ll attempt to win back Mercedes.

This weekend, Glee: The 3D Concert Movie hits theaters so I thought it would be appropriate to pit two of the show’s hottest hotties against each other for ultimate supremacy. One is a show veteran and one is a season two add-on without and third season pick-up. However, they both have banging bodies that we would all die to have. Let’s take a closer look at the candidates.
Mark Salling in an Austin, Texas native who now resides in LA. Aside from Glee, Mark is quite the budding musician. He is a band called Jericho and they released their first album in 2008. In January of 2010, Mark released his own rock/jazz album titled Pipe Dreams. He wrote, produced and fronted every single track. Impressive talent there Mr. Salling.
Chord Overstreet is a Nashville, Tennessee native and is the son of famed country singer Paul Overstreet. Chord can play multiple instruments like piano, mandolin and guitar and is also a songwriter. Chord also made a notable appearance in his brother Nash’s band Hot Chelle Rae’s video for Tonight, Tonight. Chord is not returning to Glee for Season 3.
Alright, you’ve heard the facts but now, you have to check out the physical evidence right? Check out the sexy photos and make your decision on Who You’d Rather below.
If you weren’t lucky enough to attend one of Glee’s many concert stops this summer, you’ll be able to see what you missed when “Glee: The 3D Concert Movie” hits theaters on August 12th. You better hit the multiplexes quick though, because the movie will only be shown for a limited time- two weeks to be exact. It’ll be the perfect appetizer to Glee’s upcoming third season main course.
By now you’ve probably heard three of the current cast will be graduating by the end of the season. So if you’re a fan of Rachel Berry, Finn Hudson and/or Kurt Hummel, you better get your fill before it’s over. Fox and Ryan Murphy sure are pimping out the trio before they reach they’re expiration date.
The concert footage was taken from the tour’s June 16 stop in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Joining the cast will be several surprise cameos including Gwyneth Paltrow, who belts out her cover of “Forget You“. When I heard a concert movie was being filmed, I initially balked at the idea. But after recently watching Justin Bieber’s “Never Say Never” on my flight back from Toronto, I’m looking forward to Glee’s film. Hopefully it’ll give viewers a lot of behind-the-scenes look at the cast and the concert production like the Biebs’ flick.

Hold on to your collective pearls Gleeks. Your favorite McKinley High resident might be leaving when Season 3 ends. We already know Chord Overstreet (Sam) wasn’t picked up as a series regular for the upcoming season, but more cast changes are in the works. Ryan Murphy has long stated that “Glee” would be as realistic as possible and have cast members graduate each season.
“You can keep them on the show for six years and people will criticize you for not being realistic,” Murphy tells the Hollywood Reporter, “or you can be really true to life and say when they started the show they were very clearly sophomores and they should graduate at the end of their senior year.”
So who’s first on the chopping block? If you’re a fan of Finchel, you only have one more year to enjoy them on “Glee”. That’s right folks, Rachel Berry and Finn Hudson are graduating this year. Murphy confrimed that Lea Michele and Cory Monteith will definitely not be coming back at all for Season 4. They’re not the only ones. My personal favorite is also leaving the show. Find out who below.
