THIS.IS.EVERYTHING!!! No exaggeration. Waking up to this made getting out of bed much easier this morning.
Christina Aguilera dropped by The Tonight Show to promote her return to The Voice. During her appearance, she played a rousing game of ‘Wheel of Musical Impressions‘ with Jimmy Fallon.
As luck would have it (producer manipulation *wink*), the wheel landed on Britney Spears on the 34-year-old singer’s turn. She delivered a spot-on impersonation of Spears singing “This Little Piggy” to the tune of “(Hit Me) Baby One More Time.” It’s so good it blew Fallon’s mind.
X-Tina also delivered amazing impressions of her Burlesque co-star Cher and her fellow Voice judge Shakira singing the Folgers Coffee jingle and the Golden Girls theme song respectively. Definitely check out the clip below. It’ll make your day.
Who knew Cher was such a fan of Andrew Christian’s soft-core underwear videos? Not me. If you think about it though, it really shouldn’t come as too big of a surprise. After all, it’s well known the 67-year-old diva has an affinity towards young fit men. Plus, she loves the gays and knows exactly what we like.
“Gay men especially … either love you or they don’t even notice that you’re on the planet,” she stated at the Attitude magazine awards. “I think what you guys like, is you like a strong woman that’s having a breakdown constantly, and that certainly is me. Judy Garland’s got nothing on me.”
The Burlesque actress posted the following video on her Facebook yesterday. Using footage from existing Andrew Christian videos, she mashed up scenes of underwear-clad men to a 7th Heaven dance remix of “Take It Like A Man,” off her latest album Closer To The Truth.
It’s the perfect titillating visual for the track. Let’s face it, gays are the only ones really listening to her music these days, so why not cater to them. Well played Cher, well played. Check out the video below.
This is probably the gayest acceptance speech in history. If not, definitely Top 10 material.
Gay publication Attitude magazine bestowed Cher with its Legend Award in front of a gaggle of European homos. The 67-year-old icon talks about having a relationship with the gay community even as a child thanks to her mother’s fabulous hairdressers. She’s been so immersed in the culture since, she jokingly throws shade at fellow gay icon Judy Garland. For all young folks, that’s like Lady Gaga talking about Katy Perry :)
“Gay men especially, they either love you or they don’t even notice that you’re on the planet,” Cher says to a raucous gay crowd. “I think what you guys like is a strong woman who’s having a breakdown constantly. And that certainly is me. Judy Garland’s got nothing on me.”
Watch all the awesome gayness below. Cher’s speech begins at the 4:00 minute mark. However, if love Graham Norton, you might want to watch the video in its entirety.
Imagine having Cher on your outgoing voicemail message asking your friends to leave a message after the tone, ending with her signature “WOAH!” Personally, I would die. For the low price of $299, the “Woman’s World” singer will do just that.
The advocacy group Autism Speaks has corralled several celebrities including Bryan Cranston, Adam West, Jack Black, Peter Dinklage, Jim Parsons, Mark Hamill, Zachary Quinto, Michael Dorn and Vin Scully to name a few to record a 20-second-long customized message all for the sake of charity.
From Oct. 7 to Oct. 13, a limited number of MP3 messages you write will be recorded by each celebrity on a first-come, first-served basis for fans to do with as they wish. Naturally, all requests must be of the PG nature. So don’t expect Quinto to record sweet dirty nothings on your voicemail. I’m sure he’d do it for free if you’re his type ;)
Last year’s effort which featured Betty White, Will Ferrell and Patrick Stewart to name a few recorded about 342 messages, raising roughly $100,000. The initiative is the brainchild of Ed Asner (The Mary Tyler Show) and his son Matt who works for Autism Speaks. Check out a few of the recordings from last year below.
Picking a follow-up song for her Billboard Dance chart-topper “Woman’s World” is no easy decision. Does she go with another club banger or switch things up? Cher opted for the latter and slowing things down for the second official single off Closer To The Truth. The 67-year-old chose the balled “I Hope You Find It,” a cover of a Miley Cyrus track featured on The Last Song soundtrack.
While a solid choice, I’m surprised she didn’t go with “Take It Like a Man,” her collaboration with Scissor Sisters’ front man Jake Shears. I know many of her gay fans were looking forward to a music video featuring the both of them. If not that uber gay track, I thought for sure she’d pick one of the two songs on her latest effort written by Alecia Moore aka P!nk.
Perhaps, she chose the ballad to try to appeal to a different demo than the gays and ride on the Miley bandwagon. If she did, it’s a savvy move. Anything Miley-related is hot these days. Check out the recently-released lyric video below.
For all you Cher fans, today is your lucky day. The 67-year-old announced she’s hitting the tour to promote her 26th studio album, Closer To The Truth. Dressed To Kill will be her first tour in eight years, minus a Casesars Place residency in Las Vegas back in 2011. Her last full out road tour was called, ironically enough, the Farewell Tour. Guess it wasn’t a good-bye after all.
“The road is horrible but the concerts are great,” Cher told Today. “I understand why guys in bands tear up hotel rooms and throw TVs out the windows because it’s a very lonely place.”
Speaking of The Today Show, the “Woman’s World” singer performed three tracks to an adoring crowd this morning. In addition to her current dance hit, she belted out the classic “Believe” and “I Hope You Find It” which can be found on her new album in stores tomorrow. Check out the performances and concert tour dates below.
If you can’t wait til September 24 to check out Cher’s 26th studio album, you’re in luck. The 67-year-old is streaming Closer To The Truth in its entirety on Amazon.com. You can listen to all the tracks off the standard version for free until it’s release date next week.
After almost a decade not performing live on television, the “Woman’s World” singer choose the NBC singing competition to debut her comeback single. Cher must’ve really enjoyed her time on the fourth season finale of The Voice. She returns to the show, but this time as one of the mentors during the battle rounds for Season 5. Find out who she’s paired up with below, along with the other three mentors.
“This group of wildly successful musicians will add their distinctive talents to their respective teams” Paul Telegdy, NBC’s late night and alternative programming president said in a statement. “I know Christina, Adam, CeeLo and Blake are very much looking forward to having them come aboard.”
