spotify-pride-playlist

Not feeling the Pride spirit yet? Perhaps, Spotify’s new playlist just might do the trick. The service compiled the top streamed songs across pride-themed playlists in the United States.

After analyzing tens of thousands of pride playlists on Spotify, not surprisingly the Top 20 consists mostly of female artists. The gays certainly love their divas. The two male acts to make the cut were Scissor Sisters and Sam Smith. The latter singer’s two ballads “Stay With Me” and “I’m Not The Only One” surprisingly were included.

Which diva do you think reigns supreme? Is it Britney, Whitney, Beyonce, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Cher or someone else? Maybe it’s drag icon RuPaul. Check out the entire list below to find out.

Cher Is The New Face Of Marc Jacobs

In: Donovan, Fashion

The fashion industry is usually obsessed about the next hot young thing. But lately, it’s been all about women of a certain age. Celine and Saint Laurent recently tapped Joan Didion and Joni Mitchell respectively to front their campaigns. Cher is the latest mature woman to become the face of a major high-end fashion brand.

When Cher accompanied the designer at the Met Gala a few weeks ago, we should’ve sensed something like this was in the works.

The 69-year-old icon looks badass in a long black dress in the first visual snapped by David Sims for Marc Jacobs’ Fall 2015 ad campaign. I can’t wait to see the entire print campaign.

What do you think of Cher’s first Marc Jacobs ad? Weigh in below.

Impersonating Britney Spears is old hat for Christina Aguilera these days. You just know Auggie probably spent countless hours perfecting it over the years. This is the second time the “Dirrty” singer has done it publicly in recent months.

However, this time, it feels a tad more mean-spirited. Brit is no rocket scientist, but Christina’s portrayal paints her as an air-headed bimbo. I felt a little guilty laughing. It’s not my fault those moments were the funniest parts ;)

Aguilera also does her best to mimic Cher, Shakira, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga and Sia during their faux auditions to become a mentor on The Voice. In my opinion, the latter two along with Spears was where Christina shined the most. Check her impersonations below and weigh in on which ones were the best.

MNEK Gives Cher’s Believe A Soulful Makeover

In: Donovan, Music

MNEK first caught my attention when he delivered a wicked dance cover of Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles” featuring an interpolation of the B-52’s classic “Love Shack.” The 20-year-old British Grammy-nominated singer/producer has worked his magic again. He recorded a killer cover of Cher’s “Believe.” He gives the late 90s dance anthem some soul and a kick-ass drum and bass beat.

The talented Nigerian-born might not be a household name yet, but you certainly know some of his past work. He’s produced and written hits for The Saturdays (“All Fired Up), Kylie Minogue “Feels So Good” and Little Mix (“Wings”). Check out his latest offering below.

THIS.IS.EVERYTHING!!! No exaggeration. Waking up to this made getting out of bed much easier this morning.

Christina Aguilera dropped by The Tonight Show to promote her return to The Voice. During her appearance, she played a rousing game of ‘Wheel of Musical Impressions‘ with Jimmy Fallon.

As luck would have it (producer manipulation *wink*), the wheel landed on Britney Spears on the 34-year-old singer’s turn. She delivered a spot-on impersonation of Spears singing “This Little Piggy” to the tune of “(Hit Me) Baby One More Time.” It’s so good it blew Fallon’s mind.

X-Tina also delivered amazing impressions of her Burlesque co-star Cher and her fellow Voice judge Shakira singing the Folgers Coffee jingle and the Golden Girls theme song respectively. Definitely check out the clip below. It’ll make your day.

Who knew Cher was such a fan of Andrew Christian’s soft-core underwear videos? Not me. If you think about it though, it really shouldn’t come as too big of a surprise. After all, it’s well known the 67-year-old diva has an affinity towards young fit men. Plus, she loves the gays and knows exactly what we like.

“Gay men especially … either love you or they don’t even notice that you’re on the planet,” she stated at the Attitude magazine awards. “I think what you guys like, is you like a strong woman that’s having a breakdown constantly, and that certainly is me. Judy Garland’s got nothing on me.”

The Burlesque actress posted the following video on her Facebook yesterday. Using footage from existing Andrew Christian videos, she mashed up scenes of underwear-clad men to a 7th Heaven dance remix of “Take It Like A Man,” off her latest album Closer To The Truth.

It’s the perfect titillating visual for the track. Let’s face it, gays are the only ones really listening to her music these days, so why not cater to them. Well played Cher, well played. Check out the video below.

This is probably the gayest acceptance speech in history. If not, definitely Top 10 material.

Gay publication Attitude magazine bestowed Cher with its Legend Award in front of a gaggle of European homos. The 67-year-old icon talks about having a relationship with the gay community even as a child thanks to her mother’s fabulous hairdressers. She’s been so immersed in the culture since, she jokingly throws shade at fellow gay icon Judy Garland. For all young folks, that’s like Lady Gaga talking about Katy Perry :)

“Gay men especially, they either love you or they don’t even notice that you’re on the planet,” Cher says to a raucous gay crowd. “I think what you guys like is a strong woman who’s having a breakdown constantly. And that certainly is me. Judy Garland’s got nothing on me.”

Watch all the awesome gayness below. Cher’s speech begins at the 4:00 minute mark. However, if love Graham Norton, you might want to watch the video in its entirety.

Imagine having Cher on your outgoing voicemail message asking your friends to leave a message after the tone, ending with her signature “WOAH!” Personally, I would die. For the low price of $299, the “Woman’s World” singer will do just that.

The advocacy group Autism Speaks has corralled several celebrities including Bryan Cranston, Adam West, Jack Black, Peter Dinklage, Jim Parsons, Mark Hamill, Zachary Quinto, Michael Dorn and Vin Scully to name a few to record a 20-second-long customized message all for the sake of charity.

From Oct. 7 to Oct. 13, a limited number of MP3 messages you write will be recorded by each celebrity on a first-come, first-served basis for fans to do with as they wish. Naturally, all requests must be of the PG nature. So don’t expect Quinto to record sweet dirty nothings on your voicemail. I’m sure he’d do it for free if you’re his type ;)

Last year’s effort which featured Betty White, Will Ferrell and Patrick Stewart to name a few recorded about 342 messages, raising roughly $100,000. The initiative is the brainchild of Ed Asner (The Mary Tyler Show) and his son Matt who works for Autism Speaks. Check out a few of the recordings from last year below.
