Long-time civil rights advocate and artist Cyndi Lauper has rallied an impressive list of stars from music and entertainment to help kick off the 2012 True Colors Summer Charity Auction to benefit the True Colors Fund’s work in support of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality. Elton John, Liza Minnelli, Lady Gaga, Anderson Cooper, Jason Mraz, Ricky Martin and many more celebrities have donated incredible experiences for the auction, open now through July 31st at leading online charity auction house CharityBuzz at www.charitybuzz.com/TrueColorsSummer2012.
This is the fourth annual summer online for Lauper’s True Colors Fund and I have to say it’s the best collection of prizes yet. Whether you’re a music lover, television junkie or sports fanatic, there is a prize that might appeal to you. I’m even tempted to bid on a couple of items myself. Which ones, you ask? Well, since you ask… I would kill for a chance to meet silver fox Anderson Cooper. I’ve been a fan of his since his hosting days on ABC’s “The Mole“. Also enticing is watching the Project Runway finale fashion show live and getting my nails did with my girl, Jessica Sutta after grabbing a bite to eat. We can dish and dish ;). Check out all the items below.
Last week, I shared with you Mattel’s Nicki Minaj Barbie doll being auctioned off to raise funds for Project Angel Food. Turns out, there’s also another celebrity-inspired doll on CharityBuzz.com you can bid on. Just like Minaj, this singer has a propensity to don colorful wigs. So much so, this singer is the face of GHD Wig’s holiday ad campaign.
Just like Nicki’s version, this celeb doll is meticulously made with the greatest attention to detail made. The stunning cupcake dress is made with 70 hand-painted mini-cupcakes with a glittered bodice. The fishnet stockings are even adorned with Swarovski crystals. Bidding has started at $1,000 and has the same $15,000 estimated value as Minaj’s. See which singer is the latest to receive a Barbie Doll treatment.
It’s no secret that Nicki Minaj loves herself some Barbie. She’s practically modeled her entire look after the iconic doll. From wearing a huge Barbie bling’d out necklace to naming her breakout mixtape “Barbie’s World“, Minaj is definitely a fan. It’s only natural that a Nicki version of the Mattel toy was made. Sadly, for those wanting to own their own Nicki doll, you’re going to have to shell out a pretty penny.
The doll, smartly named Minajesty Barbie, is a one-off being sold for charity. Starting today til December 19, 2011, you can bid on the doll with proceeds benefiting Project Angel Food. Minajesty Barbie has a starting bid of $1,000 and estimated to be worth $15,000. If you have money to spend and a Nicki fan, this might be up your alley. From the hand-rooted eye lashes, tattoo on the left arm to Nicki’s cotton-candy pink hair, no detail was overlooked. It truly is impeccable. See Nicki Minaj in Barbie form for yourself below.
