To tell the “trooooooooth” (in Cher’s voice), I’m surprised this didn’t happen sooner. It’s a match made in heaven.
LOGO enlisted some of the more popular alums of RuPaul’s Drag Race to film a music video for Cher’s latest dance hit “Woman’s World.” Naturally, Chad Michaels is front and center since she’s most known for her Cher impersonations. The All-Stars winner channels the dance diva by wearing her infamous attention-grabbing Academy Awards outfit.
Joining Michaels in the clip are Shangela, Manila Luzon, Willam and Alyssa Edwards. Both Shangela and Manila look to Cher’s music videos for inspiration, picking looks from her “If I Could Turn Back Time” and “Believe” clips. Alyssa serves up Mermaids Cher realness, while Willam goes old school, harkening back to the 67-year-old icon’s “Half-Breed” era. Check out the homage visual below.
WinterPRIDE 2013 is only six weeks away, with this being the 21st Annual Gay Ski Week in Whistler, B.C. A bunch of us here at Homorazzi actually started attending back in 2009 and that’s actually where we came up with the name for what would be known as “Homorazzi” one year later. We always have such a blast, and the last couple years we’ve even captured our experiences in video recaps. Patrick and Adam actually once spent the entire week at WinterPRIDE and had an unforgettable time meeting people from all over the world and attending some incredibly fun parties and apres skis. Homorazzi will be there again this year and we definitely want to see YOU there too!
Every year, there are different performers and events to look forward to and this year there is no exception. The winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, the amazing Chad Michaels will be there to perform and the headlining DJ for the week is DJ Paul Goodyear. In addition, one of the sexiest and most popular porn stars around, Brent Everett will also be on the mountain and appearing at various events.
Without further delay, check out the Top 10 Reasons why you and your friends should get your ski bums in gear and start planning to be at WinterPRIDE 2013 taking place this coming February 3 – February 10 in Whistler, B.C..
Definitely not the person everyone wanted it to be.
As I sit here and write the review for the finale of RuPaul’s All-Stars Drag Race, I had to take a moment and figure out what angle I was going to take. I could write about how pissed off I was and rage type and make tons of mistakes, but I’ve already done that. I can write about how the fan favorites were ROBBED AGAIN but everyone else has already done that. Instead I am going to write about how absolutely disappointed I, and pretty much everyone else in the world is with tonight’s decision. But let’s recap shall we?
There was no mini challenge this week because the Final 4 had a big main challenge. It was very reminiscent of America’s Next Top Model and the go sees. The queens had to drive around LA and make 3 stops: An interview, to accept an award and finally to do a stand up routine. Before that however, each of the queens had a 1 on 1 with Sheri Oteri to run their routines and get some pointers. All of them had issues so it was hard to tell right away who was in the lead.
Yes I knew this was coming up as soon as RuPaul’s All Stars Drag Race started. Yes I was looking forward to it the absolute most, and yes I was so incredibly disappointed with the outcome of the episode. I’m going to tell you why in a BIG paragraph rant at the end but first let’s review what happened shall we?
Back in the workroom it was Rujubee and Shad left. Probably the most unsurprising final teams anyone could’ve imagined but my girls were still there so I was happy. Ru came onto the TV screen and it was all superhero talk. Yes girl I started salivating. She LOVES her superheroes and her comic books (SIDENOTE – I’ll be started a new column on Homorazzi about all that real soon), and I couldn’t wait to see what they were going to turn out. First though it was mini challenge time, BASKETBALL. While I totally don’t know what this has to do with drag I’m not going to lie, I loved it. It was hysterical. Rujubee dominated the court and won the mini challenge. Their prize? Phone calls home.
After last week’s ridiculous challenges, Episode 4 was a breath of fresh air.
Going back into the workroom this week the queens discussed the Bottom 2 again and how team Rujubee felt. Needless to say they were not featuring it for obvious reasons, and the teams were surprised that Yarlexis was still in the running.
I’m going to take a moment before I start reviewing the episode because I think team Yarlexis needs to be defended a bit. Who cares if they can’t speak Wnglish well, and I’m sorry I don’t think Yara was carrying Alexis through the challenges. I personally think the pair has been doing very well, and they are very well matched. And correct me if I am wrong but I believe that they have actually won the most challenges, and tonight was no different.
The mini challenge this week was about READING, but with a twist. Each team had to come up with a cheer about reading the other teams. It was team YARLEXIS that won and it was with the simple read of: Knock Knock. Who’s there? SHANNEL…Shannel who?…EXACTLY!
First of all let me say sorry for my lack of review last week. I was drunk with Team RUJUBEE in Seattle. Like really drunk. Like we were all blind by the end of the night drunk. Oy vey, but I’m back this week in full force and ready to spill the T.
I want to start off my saying that tonight’s episode was really weird. Yes it was funny because who doesn’t love seeing Shannel walk on all four and bark like a dog, but to me I don’t understand what this had to do with being a drag queen. I also have some insider information that I will divulge later, but overall this entire episode was very fishy…and not in a good way.
Back in the work room after the last elimination of team Brown Flowers (NOT CUTE! I pegged Nina to be a finalist, she is the fiercest from that show EVER) we learned of the next mini challenge; taking butch queen realness photos. Sure…why not? They’ve done pretty much everything else they could why not just take some weird man photos. Yarlexis took this and I don’t even remember what their prize was? (Was there a prize?)
FINALLY! RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars has begun, and in TRUE drag race form it was everything. I don’t know about you, but I can just sit and watch drag race all day everyday. It’s all I want to do. I’m a little disappointed that it’s only 6 episodes, but what are you gonna do. I’ve got lots to say about it so let’s get right into it shall we?
One by one the all stars are introduced, the budget has clearly gotten higher because the beginning intros were fabulous. We are introduced to the 12 queens from the past 4 seasons that have made the cut and are called all stars. My favorite looks as they walked in were Pandora, Manila, Raven, Mimi Imfurst and of course my personal All Star Nina Flowers, who in true Nina form took the cake as the best look. I have to give major props to Mimi because I don’t think many will (even though in my opinion she totally deserves them) but she looked ferosh. She’s got a new look, a new body and her paint was flawless.
We find out right away that the queens are going to paired up (in groups of 2). Oh yes, they both have to be flawless or else they go home. If either queen screws up, they jeopardize the team. Each of the queens had to pick who they wanted to be paired up with, and if there was a match, that was the team. If not they keep going. They only had to go through 2 rounds and only one pairing was assigned by lady Fate. Here are the teams in my personal favourite order…
We’re a little over a month away before Logo’s highly-anticipated RuPaul’s All Stars Drag Race premieres and we here at Homorazzi are beyond excited. Even more so today after the network released a brand new extended trailer. If you had any doubts the All Stars season was going to be anything less than the most dramatic and fiercest competition of them all, erase them now. It’s going to be a drag-venture the world has never seen before.
What makes an All-Star? Beauty? Confidence? Attitude? Catchphrases? It takes all the above to be the queen of all the queens and shine brightest in this galaxy of over-the-top personalities. RuPaul reveals the All Stars won’t be competing in challenges, but legacy work (whatever that means). They come armed with stilettos, feathers and sequins, prepared for a battle where one false move—or eyelash—could spell doom. One of the queens in the trailer proclaims she’s going to Nancy Kerrigan some of the bitches. To quote Latrice Royale, “this is going to be sickening bitch.” Check out the Rupersized trailer below.
