March 1 (today) is Justin Bieber’s birthday and he was photographed shirtless heading to his hotel room after performing in Birmingham, England. I gotta hand to the Pisces guy – he has been working hard at the gym because his body is looking good. This is/was his 19th birthday and is said to have been planning a circus-themed birthday party.
I have to confess I’m hyperaware of which celebrities have their birthdays today because it is also my birthday. Thirty-two years ago I was born in a hospital and the following day, my parents who had arranged to adopt me came and picked me up… so now I like to celebrate the 2nd as well.
Anyway, check out which other celebrities in addition to Justin Bieber are celebrating their birthdays today. One of them came out with a new album a few months ago and the other guys are just hot. Oh, and Bieber’s shirtless photo is after the jump too.
The original Queen of Pop turned the BIG 5-4 today! In true Madonna fashion, the singer doesn’t look a day over 40 and still seems to have the energy she did as a young star. She’s been a gay icon for decades and has been credited with inspiring many of the singers we love currently such as Britney Spears and Lady Gaga.
I particularly find Madonna fascinating because she’s just a girl from Michigan who managed to rule the world – and as a boy from a small town in Michigan, I find this as inspirational as it gets.
Lets take a trip down memory lane to see how the material girl went from rising star to international icon.
Everyone’s favorite Scientologist is turning a half-century today. That’s right, the guy who shook his underwear-clad bon-bon in “Risky Business” is 50-years-old now. I wonder if he can “handle the truth” ;) Typically, achieving this milestone birthday is cause for a huge celebration. Given his recent divorce announcement from third wife, Katie Holmes, I’m sure he’s not in a partying mood. Reportedly, he began his 50th year by boarding a private jet in Finland heading to California. He was in the Scandinavian country filming scenes for his upcoming film, “Oblivion“. But enough about his personal life. Let’s take a look back at his storied film career.
Cruise was born in Syracuse, New York on July 3, 1962. His first film role was in “Taps“, but his breakout role came in his first starring role in “Risky Business“. The rest, as they say, is history. Tom has been one of the most bankable stars in Hollywood appearing in numerous blockbusters and earning three Oscar nominations- “Born on the Fourth of July”, “Jerry Maguire”, “Magnolia”. For a while there, the actor was known more for his odd behavior than his box office clout. Remember the couch jumping incident on “The Oprah Winfrey Show?” Eventually, he disembarked from the crazy train and produced more blockbusters.
Love him or hate him, you’ve probably enjoyed a Cruise film or two in your lifetime. Personally, my favorites are “Cocktail“, “Outsiders”, “Top Gun”, “The Firm“, “Jerry Maguire”, “Minority Report” and “Mission Impossible III”. What’s are your favorite flicks from him? Be sure to vote in our poll below. Obviously, I didn’t include every film. That would’ve taken an entire page. Happy 50th Tom Cruise. Good luck blowing all those candles ;)
Yesterday, we celebrated one of God’s most beautiful creations: I’m talking about Zac Efron. This delicious stud turned a young 24-years-old yesterday. It’s hard to believe that Zac was first introduced to us as a young kid in High School Musical and suddenly became a man in recent films like Charlie St. Cloud and the upcoming New Year’s Eve. But what everyone can’t keep their eyes off of is that sculpted body he works so hard to maintain. Those abs… am I right?
It’s hard to believe that this guys-guy from San Luis Obispo, California has become the household name is his today. He started acting at the age of 11 in community theater and was soon booking guest starring roles on Firefly and ER. He had an extended stint on Summerland as well but exploded when Disney cast him as the lead Troy Bolton in their runaway hit, High School Musical. He hasn’t looked back ever since. Check out some photos of Zac through the years below.
Lordy, Lordy – look who’s forty! Alfonso Ribeiro, better known as Carlton Banks from The Fresh Prince of Belair, just turned the big 4-0 today. It seems like the stars of all of my favorite shows growing up are hitting their milestone birthdays. Recently, I wrote about former teen heartthrob, Jonathan Taylor Thomas turning 30 – how time flies!
“Carlton” was the socially awkward, goodie two-shoed cousin of Will in the hit sitcom. He was known for his goofy, “It’s Not Unusual” dance among his other memorable quirks.
Since the show, the divorced father of one hasn’t really reached the same level of success that his co-star, Will Smith has. He’s been on shows like “Celebrity Duets,” but unfortunately we haven’t been treated to any more Carlton dances on primetime television – unless you’re watching re-runs.
To celebrate his birthday and to give you a midday pick-me-up, reminisce to his infamous dance technique below.
