One of FOX’s more promising new shows is Lee Daniels’ hip-hop drama, Empire. Sadly, it doesn’t premiere until early 2015. With this latest addition, the wait is going to be even more unbearable.

Naomi Campbell is set to recur as Camilla, “an alluring woman involved in a steamy affair with the much younger potential heir to his father’s throne, Hakeem (Bryshere Gray), over whom she exercises considerable influence.”

She joins a distinguished cast including past Oscar nominees Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson and Gabourey Sidibe. Howard plays Lucious Lyon, the head of a music empire whose three sons and ex-wife all battle for his throne.

“Naomi is a beautiful actress. Underrated in my mind,” Daniels said in a statement. “She will be wonderful as Camilla. I am truly thrilled to have one of my close friends join us.”

Excited to have Campbell grace television screens? Intrigued by the show’s hip-hop premise and backdrop? Check out the trailer below and weigh in afterward.

In other Magic Mike-related news. Last week, Ellen DeGeneres scored her hot gardener Nick a screen test for the film. If you’re watching Season 12 of the long-running daytime show, Nick is a new addition that’s often shirtless. #thxellen.

The buff piece of eye candy first appeared on Ellen earlier this year as one of The Cream Pies. Not sure exactly why DeGeneres’ team didn’t use his real name Bill Reillich, but oh well. Whatever his name is, he’s definitely got the guns, the abs… I could go on. Watch gardener Nick’s meeting with the film’s producer below, along with Strahan dropping the big news.

Magic Mike XXL Finds Its Female Lead In Amber Heard

In: Donovan, Movies

If there was a weak link in the first Magic Mike film, I would have to say it was Channing Tatum’s love interest. No disrespect to Cody Horn, but she just felt out of place in the film and wasn’t at all captivating. I’m a fan of Amber Heard so hopefully, she brings more to the table. No details about her role have been disclosed, but she joins the production which is currently filming.
