Sharknado 4 Unveils List Of Celebrity Cameos

In: Donovan, TV Shows

It’s only fitting that SyFy shares news for the fourth installment of Sharknado on the unofficial Star Wars holiday, May the 4th. After all, the shark-slaying disaster film pays homage to the epic space opera with it’s title, Sharknado: The Fourth Awakens. There’s also a newly-released poster that features the cast channeling their inner Jedis.

Sharknado The Fourth Awakens Synopsis

“Fin (Ian Ziering), his family and the cosmos have been blissfully sharknado-free in the intervening years, but now sharks — and ‘nados! — are being whipped up in places (and ways) least expected.”

Speaking of the cast, the network just unveiled a full list of all celebrities making cameos in the film, joining returning players Tara Reid, Ryan Newman and newbies Gary Busey, Tommy Davidson, Imani Hakim, Cody Linley, Masiela Lusha and Cheryl Tiegs. Let’s just say, it’s a hodge podge of D-list awesomeness. For instance, controversial Stacey Dash appears as the Mayor of Chicago. I can’t wait to see a shark inhale her 😉 Check out the full list below.

It’s official. Lebron James will step into Michael Jordan’s shoes to play alongside the Looney Tunes crew for Space Jam 2 whether you like it or not.

Based on initial reaction, it seems the overwhelming sentiment is the latter. Twitter users are upset that the sequel will ruin the memory of their beloved childhood flick. Personally, I don’t understand all the uproar. James didn’t embarrass himself in his supporting role in Trainwreck. I think he’ll be just fine.

Reportedly, the 31-year-old Cleveland Cavaliers forward beat out the recently retired Kobe Bryant, Stephen Curry, and Blake Griffin for the role. Justin Lin of Fast & Furious 6 and Star Trek Beyond will direct.

Did you watch the 1996 live-action/animated hybrid film? Is Lebron a worthy successor to Michael? Sound off below.

Amazon Finds Its Jack Ryan For New Series

In: Donovan, TV Shows

Four actors have previously played the fictional character created by Tom Clancy on the big screen. Alec Baldwin (The Hunt for Red October), Harrison Ford (Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger), Ben Affleck (The Sum of All Fears) and Chris Pine (Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit) have all stepped up to the plate. For me though, Ford, embodied the CIA analyst the best.

For its new series, Jack Ryan, Amazon decided to select another actor to play the titular role. Find out who below.

A Tomb Raider reboot has been in the works for several years now, but kept getting pushed back. It finally looks like it’s picking up steam. The movie studio just announced its new leading lady to play Lara Croft.

Oscar-winning actress Alicia Vikander will take the torch from Angelina Jolie who played the video game heroine in 2001’s Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and it’s sequel Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life in 2003. The Roar Uthaug-directed reboot is expected to be an origin story, focusing on Croft’s first adventure as an archaeology student.

When Sense8 returns for its second season on Netflix, the cast will look a little different. Some behind-the-scenes drama has led to one of the original sensates being recast. It appears the drama isn’t just confined to the screen this time around.

According to Deadline, the sudden change is due to a conflict between co-creator Lana Wachowski and this certain actor. It began with creative differences during a table read in Berlin and worsened during filming in India. Find out below who’s being replaced.

Showtime released the official cast list for its upcoming Twin Peaks revival. Fans of the original will be happy to know that numerous alums are returning including Kyle MacLachlan, David Duchovny, Sheryl Lee, Sherilyn Fenn, Mädchen Amick, Michael Horse, Dana Ashbrook, Miguel Ferrer, Ray Wise, Grace Zabriskie, Peggy Lipton, Everett McGill and David Lynch.

However, on that whopping 217-name list, some notable OGs are missing. Lara Flynn Boyle (Donna), Joan Chen (Jocelyn) and Piper Laurie (Catherine) are missing from the roster. I’m curious to know if their absence is due to them being not interested or due to the storyline. I’m sure details will emerge in the future.

With regards to the newbies, there are some pretty big names attached including Ashley Judd, Michael Cera, Naomi Watts, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Laura Dern and Trent Reznor. A few other interesting participants are Suburgatory‘s Jane Levy, Monica Belucci, Jim Belushi and Michael Cera. Check out the full line-up below.

Twin Peaks returns to the small screen in early 2017.
