This casting is absolutely brillballs. Reese Witherspoon has been tapped to play everyone’s favorite fairy in a new live-action film based on the classic Peter Pan character, Tinkerbell.

Hollywood Reporter reveals the 39-year-old actress will not only play the titular character in Tink, but she’ll produce it as well. Bruna Papandrea, her partner at their production banner, Pacific Standard, will also co-produce

Survivor: Second Chance Cast Revealed

In: Donovan, TV Shows

After a public vote that lasted two weeks, the cast of Survivor’s 31st season was revealed at the end of Survivor: Worlds Apart Reunion. For the most part, the results weren’t too surprising. Overall, it’s a good mix of original castaways and recent players.

Survivor Seasons 22 through 24 did remarkably well, with everyone eligible making the cut, while players from S28 and S29 were shut out. Probably the biggest shocker was that Carolyn Rivera from the current season didn’t generate enough votes. I’m also curious to know which lucky guy made the cut after Mike Holloway won Survivor: Worlds Apart, thereby making him ineligible. Jeff Probst revealed Holloway ranked in the Top 10. Hopefully, Probst reveals that tidbit in the future.

Check out the castaways being shipped off to Cambodia to vie for the Survivor: Second Chance title. Be sure to weigh in on which ones you’re rooting for? Also share your thoughts on who you’re surprised made the cut and who didn’t.

Surprise!!! More American Crime Story casting news. If you hadn’t already guessed, I’m kinda obsessed with Ryan Murphy’s upcoming anthology on FX. I remember being captivated by the CNN coverage growing up and can’t wait to see Murphy sensationalize the crap out of the trial of the century.

Charlie’s Angel Cheryl Ladd and Sex and the City’s Evan Handler are the latest addition to the mini-series, American Crime Story: The People V OJ Simpson. They join an all-star cast which includes John Travolta (Robert Shapiro), Cuba Gooding Jr. (OJ Simpson), Sarah Paulson (Marcia Clark), David Schwimmer (Robert Kardashian), Courtney B. Vance (Johnnie Cochran), Connie Britton (Faye Resnick), Selma Blair (Kris Jenner), Malcolm-Jamal Warner (A.C. Cowlings), Billy Magnussen (Kato Kaelin), Steven Pasquale (Mark Fuhrman) and Jordana Brewster (Denise Brown).

Taye Diggs Tapped Next To Play Hedwig

In: Donovan, The Arts, Totally GAY!

Taye Diggs is returning to his Broadway roots. The 44-year-old actor will play the titular role in the Tony-winning musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch. He’ll begin his 12-week run starting on July 22, taking over the role currently being played by Glee‘s Darren Criss.

“Taye is fantastic — he has theater cred, he has pop culture cred, he can sing, he can act, he can dance, he’s smart and he’s sexy,” producer David Binder told the New York Times. “That’s why we cast him.”

Some of Diggs’ most notable Broadway credits include Rent, Chicago and Carousel. It’s been nearly 12 years since he last appeared on the Great White Way. In 2006, he stepped in to play Fiyero in Wicked opposite his then-wife Idina Menzel.

Excited to see Diggs in the production? I can’t wait to see him all glammed and glittered up in the promo posters. Weigh in below.

Scandal Promotes Portia De Rossi To Series Regular

In: Donovan, TV Shows

If you love Portia de Rossi on Scandal, it’s your lucky day. Her character, Elizabeth “Lizzie Bear” North won’t be hibernating anytime soon. The 42-year-old actress has been promoted to series regular for the ABC drama’s fifth season. She revealed the news in an interview with

“I’ve been here for the entire season, so, honestly, I already feel like I’m part of the family. It would’ve been very sad for me not to come back. And to come back with a guarantee of a few more episodes than [I was in this season] is really fantastic. It’s just a great ensemble cast. And we’re all really excited about the show — still. I came on as a fan, but all the actors are just as excited as when they first started the show. And I love Shonda Rhimes. I love Shonda Rhimes.” Portia tells

Pretty much everyone involved in the OJ Simpson trial became a household name. Arguably, one of the key players who tried to capitalize on his fifteen minutes of fame the most was Kato Kaelin. Ryan Murphy has found an actor to play the most infamous houseguest in history. Like his other casting choices, this one bares a striking resemblance (IMHO) to the figure he’s been tapped to play.

Billy Magnussen who recently starred in Into The Woods will play the shaggy-haired witness. He joins John Travolta (Robert Shapiro), Cuba Gooding Jr. (OJ Simpson), Sarah Paulson (Marcia Clark), Courtney B. Vance (Johnnie Cochran), Connie Britton (Faye Resnick), Selma Blair (Kris Jenner) and Jordana Brewster (Denise Brown) in the star-studded cast of American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson.

Check out pics of Magnussen below and weigh in if he bears any resemblance to Kato.

Before Diana Ross eased on down the road for the 1978 film The Wiz, it was another actress who played Dorothy Gale in the all-African-American reimagining of The Wizard Of Oz. Stephanie Mills originated the role in the hit Broadway production. NBC just revealed the 58-year-old actress will take part in their live production airing later this year. This time, however, she’ll play Auntie Em.

In addition to starring on stage, Mills also had a successful recording career. She found commercial success with hits including “What Cha’ Gonna Do With My Lovin’,” “Put Your Body In It” and my personal favorite “Never Knew Love Like This Before.” Love that latter disco jam.

Reportedly, producers are looking for ‘new talent‘ to play Dorothy. Boo, I was hoping for a bigger name. If they learned anything from last year’s disappointing Peter Pan, a household name is needed to lure in viewers.

The Wiz Live! will air on NBC on December 3. The network is teaming up with Cirque du Soleil to stage this production.
