Welcome to the ’60s, Maddie Baillio.

Just like The Wiz Live! NBC has tapped a newcomer to play the lead role for the network’s next live musical production. Shanice Williams absolutely slayed as Dorothy Gale last year and I have a feeling Baillio will as well, based on her audition footage. Girl has some pipes on her.

Maddie is a 20-year-old actress and singer from Texas. The sophomore at Marymount Manhattan College reportedly beat out a pool of nearly 1,000 hopefuls at the casting call. Her turn as Tracy Turnblad is by far her biggest gig to date.

Baillio joins previously announced cast members Harvey Fierstein as Edna Turnblad, Jennifer Hudson as Motormouth Maybelle, Martin Short as Wilbur Turnblad, and Derek Hough as Corny Collins.

Hairspray Live! airs on NBC on December 7. Check out Maddie’s audition below and her reaction upon learning she landed the coveted role.

Fans have long waited for a sequel to The First Wives Club. Sadly, that never happened, nor do I think it ever well. TV Land’s television series is, I suppose, some sort of consolation prize.

The network’s adaptation will more or less follow the film but with some minor changes. The three women will still reunite at their college friend’s funeral, but instead of their friend committing suicide, she’ll die from a freak accident. Also, New York City will be swapped out for San Francisco.

The first two actresses starring in the remake have just been announced. Find out who below.

The Quantico cast just got a little sexier and a little more British as well. Russell Tovey enrolls as a series regular for the ABC thriller’s second season.

The Hollywood Reporter reveals the 34-year-old actor will play the role of Harry Doyle, a “mischievous gadabout.” For those who don’t know, ‘gadabout’ is a habitual pleasure-seeker. I had to Google it as well 😉

“Ever since being introduced to him in The History Boys 10 years ago, I’ve hoped to work with Russell. It’s been an honor for the writers and myself to be able to create this role specifically for him,” showrunner Josh Safran tells THR.

Forget the Man of Steel, it’s all about The Man of Bronze aka Doc Savage. It’ just been announced that Dwayne Johnson has been cast to play what is being dubbed the “world’s first superhero.”

The fictional character, whose real name is Clark Savage, Jr, was originally published in American pulp magazines during the 1930s and 1940s. A team of scientists assembled by his father deliberately trained his mind and body to near-superhuman abilities almost from birth, giving him great strength and endurance, a photographic memory, a mastery of the martial arts, and vast knowledge of the sciences.

The 44-year-old former wrestler was most recently seen in Central Intelligence and can next be heard in the Disney animated musical, Moana later this year. He also has Fast 8, Baywatch and Jumanji scheduled for release in 2017. Not to mention his HBO show, Ballers. The Rock is certainly in-demand these days. Busy, busy, busy!!! Leona Lewis Joins Cats Broadway Revival

In: Donovan, The Arts

Cats returns to the Great White Way on July 31 at Broadway’s Neil Simon Theatre. It marks the first revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s record-breaking musical since its original run closed in 2000.

Nicole Scherzinger, who appeared in the London West End production in 2014, was scheduled to lead the Broadway show but pulled out last second. She opted to do another stint as judge on The X Factor instead. A bit baffling to say the least. Fittingly, a winner from the UK talent show has now been tapped to replace her.

Leona Lewis steps in to play the glamorous cat of them all, Grizabella. If you’ve seen the show, you know the character is famous for the showstopping number, “Memory.”

“It is an incredible honor to be asked by Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber to join the Cats family. I will never forget seeing the show as a little girl and how blown away I was by the magical experience of it. I am beyond thrilled for my Broadway debut to be in such an iconic show. To work with a team as legendary as those on Cats is an experience I will cherish every moment of. I cannot wait to see the audiences out in NYC!” – Leona Lewis

Ewan McGregor Set To Star In Fargo Season 3

In: Donovan, TV Shows

Billy Bob Thornton headlined the first season, while Patrick Wilson and Kristen Dunst spearheaded the second. For the third outing of the critically-acclaimed drama, Ewan McGregor has been called to pull double duty. The 45-year-old will play brothers Emmit and Ray Stussy. And surprisingly, they’re not twins. Deadline has a description of the siblings. Read below.

“Emmit Stussy is the Parking Lot King of Minnesota. A handsome, self-made, real estate mogul and family man, he sees himself as an American success story. His slightly younger brother, on the other hand, is more of a cautionary tale. Balding and pot-bellied, Ray is the kind of guy who peaked in high school. Now a parole officer, he has a huge chip on his shoulder about the hand he’s been dealt, and he blames Emmit for his misfortunes.” via Deadline

Ewan is the first cast member announced so far. The third season will be set closer to present day than the previous two.

Do you watch Fargo? Excited McGregory is headlining the third season? Weigh in below.

An all-star edition of The Real Housewives franchise is as unlikely as Jill Zarin and Bethenny Frankel being BFFs once again, but never say never, as they say. I for one, would watch it with a bucket of KFC in one hand and some champs in the other.

If it does come to fruition, the cast might not be what you expect. Andy Cohen recently revealed who he would chose to participate. While Frankel obviously makes the cut, I’m a little surprised Lisa Vanderpump nor NeNe Leakes makes the short list.

Watch the video below to learn his picks, and learn which one song he would listen to for the rest of his life, if he had to. Again, pretty surprising.

Elton John Officially Joins Kingsman Sequel

In: Donovan, Movies

His participation has been long-rumored and now it’s official. Elton John will appear in the Kingsman sequel. The 69-year-old is the latest high-profile name to sign up for Kingsman: The Golden Circle. He joins Julianne Moore, Channing Tatum, and Halle Berry along with returning players Taron Egerton, Mark Strong and Colin Firth.

Director Matthew Vaughn has had his eye on Elton for a longtime now. He previously disclosed that he wanted the “Tiny Dancer” singer to appear in a fun subplot in the first film.

“I had an idea of, ‘Who’s the worst celebrity you’d want to have locked in a cell?’ And I came up with Elton John, and having Elton John throwing these huge tantrums. And then I wanted to do an action scene of Elton John kicking the living daylights out of people,” director Matthew Vaughn told ABC News Radio.

Check out John’s Instagram post below, confirming his involvement in the project. Kingsman: The Golden Circle is scheduled to hit theaters June 16, 2017.
