Matthew Perry’s Odd Couple Reboot Finds Its Felix

In: Donovan, TV Shows

Matthew Perry’s track record since Friends has been anything but stellar. The 44-year-old has headlined three failed series- two on NBC, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (2006) and Go On (2012) and one over at ABC, Mr. Sunshine (2011). This Fall, he attempts another comeback, but this time on CBS.

He’s working on a new version of Neil Simon’s Broadway classic, The Odd Couple. The play was previously adapted into a successful TV series back in the 70s starring Jack Klugman and Tony Randall. Perry will play Oscar Madison, the messy curmudgeon of the two. At last, he’s found the actor to play Felix Unger.

Scandal: Meet Fitz & Mellie’s Kids

In: Donovan, TV Shows
scandal-mellie-fitz-kids

For almost three seasons of Scandal we’ve heard about Mellie and Fitz’s two older children but never seen them. On March 27 that all changes in the episode titled “Mama Said Knock You Out.” Jerry (Dylan Minnette) and Karen Grant (Madeline Carroll) will make their first appearance in an extremely awkward First Family dinner. At least based on promo pictures released by ABC it looks that way. You can almost cut the tension with the proverbial knife.

Shonda Rimes clearly has a big plan now that the kids have been introduced. Does this mean Fitz’s dad raping Mellie comes to light soon? How will Fitz react knowing that his eldest son is actually his half-brother? Fix that Olivia Pope.

Both Minnette and Carroll have a history with ABC prior to joining the Scandal cast. For all you Lost addicts, you might recognize Dylan as Jack Shephard’s son. His other credits include Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Awake and Men of a Certain Age. Madeline’s ties with the alphabet network include other Shonda Rimes-produced shows including Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice. Her other television credits include The Cleaner, NCIS, Cold Case and like Minnette was also on Lost. Check out both actors in their new scandalous roles below.

Celebrity Apprentice 7 Casting Rumors

In: Donovan, TV Shows
celebrity-apprentice-season-7-hasselhoff

Typically at this time of year, NBC airs Celebrity Apprentice. When the reality series didn’t appear during the network’s upfront presentation last year, many thought the celebrity edition was dead. Adding fuel to this train of thought were rumors that Donald Trump had difficulty luring new D-list celebrities to sign up. Ergo the All-Stars Celebrity Season which aired last year.

It appears though, The Donald has worked his magic and suckered in a new crop of fame-hungry stars to participate. The biggest name reportedly in the mix is Mr. Knight Rider himself, David Hasselhoff. Sources say the Hoff has the paperwork in his hands to appear on the next season, but hasn’t officially signed on yet. If the Baywatch actor agrees, he could easily be the next Gary Busey.

Shocking Grey’s Anatomy Casting News

In: Donovan, TV Shows

Hell has apparently frozen over at Grey’s Anatomy. Dr. Burke is returning to Seattle Grace, albeit for one episode, but still. Isaiah Washington didn’t exactly leave on great terms.

If you recall, Washington and his Grey’s character Dr. Burke left at the end of Season 3 after some behind-the-scenes tension. Washington was accused of using the word “faggot” during an on-set disagreement with co-star Patrick Dempsey, about fellow co-star T.R. Knight. The blowup prompted Knight to publicly reveal his sexuality. What a difference seven years make. Find out why Washington is returning below.

how-i-met-your-mother-spinoff

The How I Met Your Mother spinoff is really starting to come together. Titled How I Met Your Dad (why not Father is a tad puzzling), the potential sitcom will follow a similar arc to the original. This time around, it’ll be told from the point of view of Sally played by Greta Gerwig. Hopefully, it doesn’t take nine seasons to find the titular character.

On the heels of Gerwig snagging the lead role, Deadline.com reports another major part has been cast. Openly-gay actor Drew Tarver scored the comedy’s LGBT character. He’ll play Todd, Sally’s best friend and roommate from college who is now marred to her brother.
