Nick Carter Joins Dancing With The Stars Season 21

In: Donovan, TV Shows

Nick Carter is the latest to join Dancing With The Stars for its 21st season. The 35-year-old follows in the grand tradition of boy band members competing on the show. New Kids On The Block Joey McIntyre, 98 Degrees Drew Lachey and N Syncers Lance Bass and Joey Fatone have all hit the ballroom floor with only Lachey taking home the mirrorball.

Not only does Carter have to worry about measuring up to his fellow boy banders, but he’s also going for bragging rights within the Carter household. His little brother Aaron Carter competed on the ninth season and placed fifth with partner Karina Smirnoff.

“My brother was on it; he did great; and he’s a great little dancer and entertainer so I saw it through his eyes throughout that experience,” the elder Carter brother tells US. “And there’s a lot of competitiveness in me and I think there’s a little something inside of me that says, ‘Okay, I’m going to go there and represent the Carter name and do even better than what he did!'”

Nick is the third cast member announced for the upcoming season. Find out below who was the second.

Joy Behar Returns To The View To Co-Host

In: Donovan, TV Shows

It’s common knowledge that Season 18 of The View has been one hot mess despite being touted initially as a rebuilding one. Producers are starting from scratch and also looking to the past for Season 19.

Candace Cameron Bure, Paula Faris, Michelle Collins and Raven-Symone have all been added to join Whoopi Goldberg as co-hosts. In a surprising twist, a former panelist is being brought back to the mix.

Joy Behar who appeared on the show from Seasons 1-16 is returning to the show. YOWZA!!! Unlike Sherri Shepherd who is also returning but only as a contributor, Behar will be a full-fledged co-host. Check out the 72-year-old’s statement below about her homecoming.

Katherine Heigl Joins Laverne Cox Drama Pilot

In: Donovan, TV Shows

After the one and done series run of State of Affairs, Katherine Heigl is taking another stab at a comeback. The 36-year-old actress is switching networks, though, in hopes of a different outcome.

Heigl heads over to CBS to star in the upcoming legal drama, Doubt. If the show name sounds familiar, this isn’t the first attempt. The eye network greenlit a pilot last year, but didn’t pick up the series for their upfronts presentation. Instead of ditching it completely, CBS decided to recast some key roles.

Ben Higgins Officially Named As The Bachelor

In: Donovan, TV Shows

Bachelor nation, meet your Season 20 Bachelor.

It’s not exactly earth-shattering news. Though, props to ABC and Chris Harrison for trying to trick us with that stunt on After Paradise. Perennial runner-up Nick Viall sat with Harrison discussing his quest for love. After a quick exchange, Viall left the couch and along came Ben Higgins.

Higgins was the clear front-runner the second Kaitlyn Bristowe let him go. He was a fan favorite all season long. The only thing that was potentially preventing him from getting the coveted spot was his age. At 26-years-old, the software salesman is one of the youngest Bachelors ever. Season 5’s Jesse Palmer was also 26. Both are five years younger than the average Bachelor age of 31.

Even though he’s on the younger side, Higgins comes off very mature and level-headed. In fact, he reminds me of another well-liked recent Bachelor- Sean Lowe. He was only two years younger at 28 and he’s only one of two to walk down the aisle from the men’s side of the franchise.

Are you happy that Ben H. got the slot over Viall, Ben Z, Josh Murray and other rumored candidates? Personally, I was hoping Chris ‘cupcake’ Strandberg would get the gig. The dentist is beyond cute. Check out a couple shirtless pics of Ben below.

Like she did with “Bad Blood,” Taylor Swift is using an awards show to premiere her latest music video. The 25-year-old debuts her “Wildest Dreams” visual this weekend at the 2015 MTV VMAs.

Once again, she teams up with director Joseph Khan who was behind her “Blank Space” and “Bad Blood” clips. Khan recently headed to Africa to capture footage for the video.

Swift debuted a short 15-second teaser for what will undoubtedly be another eye-catching video. Her leading man this time around is the manly Scott Eastwood who recently starred in The Longest Ride and will appear next in Suicide Squad. Swift sure knows how to pick her male co-stars. Check out the preview below.

The 21st competition for the coveted mirrorball kicks off September 14. On today’s Good Morning America, it was revealed that Bindi Irwin will be one of those vying for the title. Though best known for being the daughter of the late ‘Crocodile Hunter’ Steve Irwin, the 17-year-old is a star in her own right, appearing on both television and on film.

In other DWTS-related news, many believed Caitlyn Jenner would also be part of the cast. DWTS casting director and co-executive producer Deena Katz revealed to Gossip Cop that would not be the case… at least not this year.

“I think Caitlyn would be great on the show,” Katz told the publication, adding, “I think right now she needs to figure out her life. Trust me, we will be fighting for her at some point. But for now, let Caitlyn become Caitlyn.”

The rest of the stars competing alongside Irwin will be announced each day for the next two weeks on the ABC morning show. Talk about stretching things out. UGH!!!

Check out Bindi’s interview below. She’s actually quite cute and charming which will be useful when it comes to winning Dancing With The Stars viewers over. I predict she’ll get paired up with Mark Ballas.

NeNe Leakes who??? For those worried the Real Housewives of Atlanta would suffer after Leakes’ departure, fear not. Bravo is doing everything in their power to ensure its prize pony doesn’t lose its shine.

Though the network never confirms casting rumors until the official trailer drops for the new season, Season 8 is shaping up to be the best yet for RHOA. Both Sheree Whitfield and Marlo Thompson are reportedly back and already stirring up trouble. They recently showed up to Cynthia Bailey’s white party wearing all black. Those stunt queens ;)

Rumors are swirling that Facts of Life actress Kim Fields is taking part as well. However, I’m sure this piece of casting news is the one that will generate the most headlines when the show returns.

TMZ reports transgender model Amiyah Scott is joining the popular franchise. Born Arthur, Scott began her transformation 10 years ago when she was 17. No word if she’ll be a full-fledged wife or just a friend, but I can’t wait to see how she interacts with the other women. Check out a few pics of the gorgeous beauty below.

Tracy Morgan Returns To Saturday Night Live

In: Donovan, TV Shows

From 1996 to 2003, Tracy Morgan was a cast member on Saturday Night Live. This October 17, the 46-year-old heads back to his former stomping grounds to host. I fully expect other alums to come back to celebrate this homecoming.

His return marks his first major appearance since he was critically injured in a car accident back in June 2014. That tragedy took the life of his longtime friend and colleague, James McNair.

NBC also revealed two other big names booked to host during SNL’s 41st season. Find out below which two ladies received a call.
