There’s no denying that Max Martin has the ‘Midas Touch‘ when it comes to crafting hit singles. His resume includes countless of Top 10 singles, many of which have reached pole position on the Billboard Hot 100.

Recently, the prolific Swedish producer notched his 21st chart-topper with The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face.” Though Martin produces for both male and female acts, it’s his collaborations with the women that have yielded him the biggest successes. Katy Perry can thank Max for eight No. 1 hits while Taylor Swift and Britney Spears have four and three courtesy of his genius.

Check out my Top 10 favorite chart-toppers from Martin below. There’s no rhyme or reason. It’s just purely based on personal preference.

Empire isn’t the program recruiting top recording artists for guest spots this Fall. Jane The Virgin has a secret weapon of their own.

The one and only Britney Spears is dropping by the critically-acclaimed CW show for its second season. Series creator Jennie Snyder Urman confirmed the casting and teased Spears’ upcoming role. Read it below.

spotify-pride-playlist

Not feeling the Pride spirit yet? Perhaps, Spotify’s new playlist just might do the trick. The service compiled the top streamed songs across pride-themed playlists in the United States.

After analyzing tens of thousands of pride playlists on Spotify, not surprisingly the Top 20 consists mostly of female artists. The gays certainly love their divas. The two male acts to make the cut were Scissor Sisters and Sam Smith. The latter singer’s two ballads “Stay With Me” and “I’m Not The Only One” surprisingly were included.

Which diva do you think reigns supreme? Is it Britney, Whitney, Beyonce, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Cher or someone else? Maybe it’s drag icon RuPaul. Check out the entire list below to find out.

giorgio-moroder-deja-vu-album-preview

The old dog still has some new tricks up his sleeves. To promote the release of Deja Vu on June 12, the legendary 74-year-old Italian producer unleashed an epic video preview.

Instead of having your run-of-the-mill album sampler, Giorgio Moroder, with the help of director JIMES, filmed a megamix dance video highlighting his high-profile collaborations. It’s only fitting it involved dance, given Moroder was responsible for the Flashdance soundtrack and countless Donna Summer hits.

Check out the video below which features dancers moving to tunes assisted by Mikky Ekko, Kelis, Kylie Minogue, Foxes, Sia, Matthew Koma and Britney Spears. I love how the clip ends with the latter’s “Tom Diner” contribution and that there’s no dancing involved. They simply just walk off. Shady? Watch below.

At face value, it sounds a bit shady, but is it really? You decide.

As previously reported, Little Mix originally recorded a demo for “Pretty Girls.” The British girl group passed on it and gave it away. Eventually, it found its way to Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea. The girls explain how Spears got her paws on it.

“We’ve been away a while because we wrote an album, sat with the record label and we thought, ‘Nope, it’s not good enough’,” group member Jesy Nelson (second from right) tells The Sun. “We recorded a whole album but we’re perfectionists and knew we could do better. So we scrapped it and started again.”

Pretty Girls Video Without Music Is A Hilarious Watch

In: Donovan, Music

Some people have way too much time on their hands. And God bless their little hearts.

House of Halo came up with the genius idea to strip the music from the “Pretty Girls” music video. As if that wasn’t enough, some sound effects were added for good measure. The result is pure hilarity.

I couldn’t help but think of Christina Aguilera’s impersonation during all of Britney Spears’ moments. Iggy Azalea also has some comedic moments in this brilliant new edit. Watch the #withoutmusic version below.

christina-aguilera-celebrity-impersonations

Impersonating Britney Spears is old hat for Christina Aguilera these days. You just know Auggie probably spent countless hours perfecting it over the years. This is the second time the “Dirrty” singer has done it publicly in recent months.

However, this time, it feels a tad more mean-spirited. Brit is no rocket scientist, but Christina’s portrayal paints her as an air-headed bimbo. I felt a little guilty laughing. It’s not my fault those moments were the funniest parts ;)

Aguilera also does her best to mimic Cher, Shakira, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga and Sia during their faux auditions to become a mentor on The Voice. In my opinion, the latter two along with Spears was where Christina shined the most. Check her impersonations below and weigh in on which ones were the best.

2015-billboard-music-awards-performances

Heading into the 2015 Billboard Music Awards telecast, Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea’s first performance of “Pretty Girls” was without a doubt the performance everyone was looking most forward to. About two hours in, the duo did themselves proud. It wasn’t at all a trainwreck, and in fact, both ladies looked sensational. Britney, IMHO, hasn’t looked this great and comfortable on stage in years. Well done.

Mariah Carey also made a notable appearance as well. She hit the Billboard stage for the first time in 17 years. Perhaps she’s still recuperating from bronchitis, but Mimi wasn’t at her vocal best. Every note felt so laborious as opposed to the ease she belted out those notes years ago.

Meanwhile, Kelly Clarkson absolutely slayed her vocals during her “Invincible” performance as did Tori Kelly and Nick Jonas on “Nobody Love” and “Jealous” respectively.

Speaking of Jonas, he was in fine form tonight. Dude looked beyond sexy. Charlie Puth and Empire‘s Jussie Smollett also smoldered on stage during their respective performances. Check out all the videos below.
