Many of you may not have ever heard of Big Time Rush but to catch you up, they are big on Nickelodeon. I gave you a little insight to these boys when they debuted their music video for the track, The Music Sounds Better With You. One member in particular, Carlos Pena, has been stepping out into the limelight on his own.

I first took notice of him separately when he starred in a little viral video with Carly Rae Jepsen’s Call Me Maybe alongside some other famous friends. Now, he’s catching the eyes of few of his female (and gay) fans. Why? Because he is giving the Speedo a rockin’ comeback. While on vacation with Samantha Droke in Hawaii, the two hit the beach and Carlos showed off his assets – if you catch my drift. It’s here, it’s here, it’s finally here! Now I know that Rihanna’s Talk That Talk album leaked a while back. But, I decided not ruin my excitement and have waited until the album was available for download on iTunes. I have listened to many of the tracks on the disc though and have read the reviews and the tweets and know that I absolutely LOVE this new record from Rihanna.

Rihanna never ceases to amaze me with what she comes out with. Every disc is different and every time, she reinvents herself without completely throwing away what we really love about her. Definitely the definition of a true artist.

Coming off the huge success of the lead off single We Found Love, the record offers more than just dance tracks. The second single You Da One offered up some reggae selection while Where Have You Been pulls together all the sounds we’ve heard from Rihanna in the past. Overall, one of her best efforts and definitely worth the purchase. Check out more new releases below.

If you don’t have a young kid or an early teenager in the house, then you may not know who Big Time Rush are. I try and keep my thumb on the pulse of tween culture but even I wasn’t 100% positive on who this fancy foursome was. However, their newly released music video for Music Sounds Better With You features some fierce friends of mine dancing in the video, so I couldn’t help but share it with you all!

To give you a quick blurb on the group, Big Time Rush started as a TV show for Nickelodeon about four hockey players from Minnesota who are selected to form a boy band. The show follows their crazy antics in Hollywood while they make music. When they aren’t in the studio, the story revolves the boys trying to find their way out of a problem involving their landlord who tries to find every way he can to evict them. The show airs in over 30 countries on various Nickelodeon partners. That’s a pretty Big Time Deal.

In their newest music video for Music Sounds Better… the boys find themselves in a warehouse hanging out for a little dance party. The video was shot here in Vancouver and features some pretty talented folks including one of my own dancers, Calida Kuzek. The song may be a little too teeny bopper for some of you but if you don’t hate a good solid pop tune, then check it out below.

Yesterday, Jack Black dressed in many a costume and hosted the 2011 Kids’ Choice Awards for Nickelodeon. The stars were a plenty and some of them even got slimed including Jim Carey and Snoop Dogg. The evening started with a walk down the orange carpet. While some of the Disney and Nickelodeon stars turned it out when it came to their outfits, Taylor Momsen showed up in black skinny jeans, leather jacket, white tee and too much black eye make up. So angsty.

Once the show began, the list of celebrity presenters didn’t stop. Heidi Klum got slimed by Nick Cannon and Jane Lynch threw a slushi cup full of slime on Jason Segel. Joe Jonas hit the stage with Sofia Vergara and Kourtney and Kim Kardashian appeared on stage looking fresh and flirty, only to be double slimed. I hope Nickelodeon doesn’t have to pay for that dry cleaning bill.

Two big winners of the night were Justin Timberlake and Josh Duhamel. Justin won The Big Help Award which is presented to a star who goes above and beyond to help the environment. Josh was inducted in to the Hall of Fame for his skill in Arm Farts. Besides the antics of slime and funny awards, some real awards were received.
