Recently, Beyonce notched her 19th Billboard Dance chart-topper with “Blow,” placing her in a tie for third with Janet Jackson on the all-time list. Only Madonna and Rihanna have more dance hits with 43 and 21 respectively. I have a feeling with this hot new Dave Aude remix of “Partition” the 32-year-old singer will pass Janet and inch closer to RiRi. Aude has outdone himself with his latest concoction.

In other Bey-related news, Vanessa Hudgens and a few of her gal pals pay homage to the singer by choreographing a sexy routine to “Yonce.” They definitely capture Mrs. Carter’s hairography and booty-dropping, but can’t match B’s high-octane ferocity. Check out the video below along with Aude’s “Partition” remix.

Beyonce: Dunkin’ Donuts Parody & Soundboardt

In: Donovan, Music

Some people just have too much time on their hands. And for that, I’m extremely grateful. A wicked fansite compiled several of Beyonce’s most meme-able sound clips off her self-titled album into one amazing Soundboardt. Mixing the sounds to create your very own ultimate Bey mashup is a must for any true fan of the “Drunk In Love” singer. Be forewarned, you might find yourself wasting more time on the site than you’d want your boss to know.

Speaking of “Drunk In Love,” another brilliant parody has surfaced. This time the lyrics have been altered to hail the wonders that is Dunkin’ Donuts. The clip features Reggie White and Adrian Anchonodo as Bey and Jay-Z respectively. On a sexy side note, Anchonodo is super dang cute. He’s got that Mike Posner thing going on. I’d ride his surboardt any day. Check out the clip below.

Partition Gets An Official Release From Beyonce

In: Donovan, Music

It’s official. “Partition” is Beyonce’s next single off her multi-platinum selling self-titled album. The 32-year-old singer ended all speculation by debuting the steamy music clip on VEVO. For those who aren’t ready for all the booty-thumping jelly, there’s also a clean version of the racy visual.

“Partition” was an instant favorite when I purchased Beyonce last year. The beat was sick, lyrics flawless (he Monica Lewinsky’d all over my gown) and the accompanying video was absolutely mesmerizing. Hands down, it’s Bey’s most titillating clip. There isn’t an object Mrs. Carter’s butt doesn’t ride. From a piano, stripper pole to the back seat of a limo, her ample booty gets around. Check out the Jake Nava-directed sexcapade below.

Katy B Covers Beyoncé!

In: Music, Nic

Well in case you didn’t hear, this week, UK electro songstress Katy B scored her first number 1 album with Little Red!

Katy B has been one of my favourites of unique British ladies with an electronic sound you can never really pin down, and if there’s one thing she’s never been, it’s dull. Her 2011 album “On a Mission” produced some of my favourite songs, and with hits on her new “Little Red” like Crying For No Reason, and 5AM, the girl has finally, and deservedly, reached the top.

Recently in a live studio version for Rinse.FM, Katy attacked a cover from the biggest pop star in the world, and a song that’s really shaping up to be a modern classic.  Starting with American singer-songwriter Tinashe’s “Vulnerable” and melding seamlessly into “Drunk In Love“, Katy B strips it back, and gives it a little soul with the piano and back up vocals. Above all else, Katy, as usual, gives a flawless live performance. God I love this girl.

Check out Katy B’s acoustic cover of Drunk In Love below. It’ll make you feel a feeling.

Beyonce Teases New Drunk In Love Music Video

In: Donovan, Music

Forget the surfboart, its all about the lasso for Beyonce these days. The 32-year-old singer heads to dry land wearing chaps, a cowboy hat and other western garb for a “Drunk In Love” remix video. Bey swaps out hubby Jay-Z for Kanye West on the new version. Keeping in line with the racy theme of the track, Mr. Kim Kardashian appropriately raps about a sexual position. Care to take any guesses given the theme? Give yourself a gold star if you predicted ‘reverse cowgirl.’ Check out the teaser below.

Beyonce just silenced her critics. While it’s undeniable that the 32-year-old singer’s self-titled opus is a bonafide smash, question remained if the album would spawn any hits. Her last album 4, with heavy promotion and radio play, failed to give a Top 10 single. On this week’s Billboard Hot 100, Bey makes her triumphant return to the prestigious chart. Even as a fan of Beyonce, I have to admit, I’m pleasantly surprised she scored a track hit off her album. Job well done.

Drunk In Love” catapults to No. 2 just behind Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse.” It’s her fourth hit with her husband Jay-Z. Overall, the track is Mrs. Carter’s 15th Top 10 single, placing her in a tie with Connie Francis and Olivia Newton-John. The latter recently announced a Las Vegas residency. The trio are in 7th place on the all-time chart among their female compatriots.

Female Artists With Most Billboard Top 10s

  • Madonna — 38
  • Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson — 27
  • Rihanna — 25
  • Whitney Houston — 23
  • Aretha Franklin — 17
  • Beyonce, Connie Francis and Olivia Newton-John — 15
  • Pink, Donna Summer, Taylor Swift — 14

To honor this momentous occasion, it was only fitting to take a trip down memory lane and reacquaint ourselves with Beyonce’s previous hits. Check out all her Top 10 tracks below and weigh in on which are your favorites.

The 56th Grammy Awards Winners & Performances

In: Donovan, Movies, TV Shows

The French duo of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, better known as Daft Punk, triumphed over Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Rihanna and countless others by taking home some of the night’s biggest awards. They snatched up Record of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Dance/Electronica Album and the very prestigious Album of the Year. Not bad for a duo who never showed their faces or spoke a single word during the telecast.

Lorde also capped off a remarkable year by winning Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance. Given her impressive haul, one would think Best New Artist would’ve been a foregone conclusion. That didn’t happen. The Kiwi singer wasn’t even nominated in that category. Instead, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis snatch that coveted accolade.

Speaking of the Seattle-based rap duo, they gave the most memorable performance of the evening. They were joined by Mary Lambert and Madonna during a special rendition of “Same Love” that incorporated Madge’s classic tune, “Open Your Heart.” In the middle of the epic collaboration, Queen Latifah officiated 33 couples getting married. The newlyweds included all creeds, colors and sexualities. It was so moving, it made Keith Urban and other audience members cry. Props to the Grammys for taking a very public and very televised stand for marriage equality.

Other notable performances include Miranda Lambert teaming up with Billie Joe Armstrong, Sara Bareilles with Carole King, Katy Perry, Lorde, Imagine Dragons, Hunter Hayes and Taylor Swift. Even though we’ve all seen P!nk suspended in mid-air, twirling around in ropes before I enjoyed her medley of “Try” and “Just Give Me A Reason.” Beyonce and Jay-Z kicked off the marathon telecast with a sexy live performance of “Drunk In Love.” It was captivatingly simple. Check it out below along with other performances and the list of winners.

Beyoncé & Jay-Z Top Billboard Power 100 List

In: Donovan, Music

Billboard magazine bestowed the top spot on their annual Power 100 list to Beyoncé & Jay Z. The two aren’t just multi-platinum-selling recording artists but also founded their own companies, Roc Nation (Jay-Z) and Parkwood Entertainment (Beyoncé). They steal the No. 1 slot from Universal Music Group CEO Lucian Grainge who held it last year, but dropped to No. 2 on the 2014 list. Rounding out the Top 3 is Red Light Management founder Coran Capshaw.

The list of the most influential people in the music industry is mostly comprised by movers and shakers behind the scenes. The more familiar names that made the cut include: Justin Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun; music producer Dr. Luke; Spotify CEO Daniel Ek; recording executive Jimmy Iovine; Simon Cowell and Ryan Seacrest. To check out the entire list, head over to Billboard.

Did Bey and Jay-Z earn the top slot? Who do you think deserves the top slot? Weigh in below.
