It’s another Destiny’s Child reunion!!! (sorta)

Michelle Williams enlisted her former bandmates, Beyonce and Kelly Rowland, for a bumpin’ new gospel track. Williams even snagged Bey’s scrappy little sister Solange for good measure. The infectious track is so catchy you can’t help but love it. The second I heard it, it got me twerking for Jesus. If you’re not a fan of gospel, this will convert you.

Say Yes” is lifted off Michelle’s forthcoming album, Journey To Freedom. Reportedly, all the girls were spotted in New Jersey filming the music video. It’ll be the first time DC have appeared in a clip since their 2005 charity single “Stand Up For Love.” Technically, they appeared in Bey’s “Superpower” video but neither Rowland nor Williams provided any vocals for that. Check out the catchy track below.

SNL Parodies Solange Beatdown & Michael Sam Kiss

In: Donovan, TV Shows

Saturday Night Live can sometimes be at the mercy of a slow news week. The comedy gods were extremely generous to SNL this week with plenty of hilarious topics for the show to work with.

For its season finale hosted by Andy Samberg, the late-night show tackled two of the previous week’s juiciest stories- Solange’s elevator attack on Jay-Z and Michael Sam kissing his boyfriend after learning he was drafted by the St. Louis Rams.

Check out both sketches below which features plenty of returning SNL alums including Maya Rudolph, Kristen Wiig, Fred Armisen, Bill Hader and more. The voiceovers by Solange and Jay-Z during the elevator footage is everything. Apparently a pesky spider was all to blame.

It’s not like Beyonce and Jay-Z needed to heavily promote their upcoming joint On The Run tour. A simple tweet would’ve sold out multiple arenas. Being the visual person that Bey is, she surprised her fans yet again by dropping a stunning promo video. Given the unwanted attention her family squabble has been receiving, shifting conversation to a more professional matter is probably desired.

Directed by Melina Matsoukas, who helmed Bey’s “Pretty Hurts,” the four-minute clip thematically plays on the Carter’s first collaboration, “’03 Bonnie & Clyde.” Appearing in the video are Sean Penn, Don Cheadle, Guillermo Díaz, Emmy Rossum, Jake Gyllenhaal, Blake Lively, Rashida Jones and Kidada Jones.

The production is top notch. It plays like a trailer for a big budget summer blockbuster. Only thing is, this is one movie we’re never going to see… or will we? I wouldn’t put it past Bey to release a surprise movie. Check out the clip below.

beyonce-statement

Days after that wonderfully entertaining video of Solange Knowles beating up Jay-Z surfaced, Beyonce has finally broken her silence. It’s about time girl. I’m still shocked the “Drunk In Love” singer stood there silently in the elevator while little sis went bat shit crazy on her husband.

In an exclusive statement to the Associated Press, Beyonce says they have worked through their differences and have moved on. She goes on to say that “families have problems and we’re no different.”

Unfortunately, the statement doesn’t actually reveal what started the fight. I don’t think we will ever know. You have to assume it’s something pretty big for Solange to delete every picture featuring Beyonce on her Instagram account. Today however, she posted an adorable pic from their childhood for #TBT. Check out the photo below, along with the full statement by Beyonce.

Kelly Rowland Gets Married In Costa Rica

In: Celeb Gossip & News, Donovan

My favorite Destiny’s Child member (sorry Bey Hive) tied the knot over the weekend. Kelly Rowland married her manager Tim Witherspoon in an intimate wedding in Costa Rica.

Reports say only around 30 people attended the nuptials. Among them were Beyonce and her sister Solange who flew down in a private plane after their Met Gala drama. What I would’ve given to be a fly in that jet ;) Hopefully, the sisters left the drama at home and put on a happy face for Kelly’s big day.

This is the first marriage for Rowland. She was previously engaged to football player Roy Williams but split in January 2005. The “Kisses Down Low” singer confirmed her engagement on The Queen Latifah Show last Decemeber. She revealed he proposed on Skype! “It was so late — we were just staring at each other,” she said of the moment before he popped the question. Congrats to the happy couple.

OH SH$T GURLLLL!!! Don’t ever piss off Solange Knowles. Girl has some fire in her. Beyonce’s little sister goes ratchety hoodrat at Jay-Z inside an elevator at a Met Ball after-party. The beatdown goes on for a little while before Solange is physically restrained by another man which I assume is a bodyguard.

Where’s Bey doing all this? Watching quietly on the sidelines of course. I’m curious to know why she didn’t attempt to stop little sis. With no audio in play, it’s difficult to figure out exactly how the fight started but it escalates pretty quickly. Maybe she’s angry for not being included on Bey and Jay-Z’s joint tour ;) Props to Jay-Z for not reacting to a clearly hyped up Solange.

Thanks to TMZ, the footage from the surveillance video from the Standard Hotel in the Meatpacking District was obtained. I’m curious to know how much they paid for the footage. Check it out below.

beyonce-ebony-cover

In honor of Black Music Month, Ebony magazine is issuing four collectible covers with a different musical superstar gracing each one. The publication pays tribute to them for their “unprecedented impact on black music.”

Not surprisingly given her remarkable year, Beyonce snags one and earns the title of ‘Diva.’ Her other half, hubby Jay-Z, scored a cover as well with the ‘Mogul’ moniker. Rounding out the four are Rihanna and Kanye West with the titles of ‘Rebel’ and ‘Poet’ respectively.

Inside the issue, Usher, Mary J. Blige, Lauryn Hill and Prince are also honored, along with icons of years past, including Tina Turner, Tupac, and Donna Summer. The issue hits newsstands on Tuesday. Check out the rest of the covers below.

“It was an honor to write the four cover stories for EBONY magazine’s Black Music Month special collector’s edition,” said music writer Kevin Powell. “Rarely do you see today’s unstoppable stars like Beyonce, Rihanna, Kanye West and Jay Z packaged with legends like Tina Turner, Donna Summer or Tupac Shakur, but we did it because when it comes to Black music, it is important to note the deep connection between the musicians of yesterday and today.”

I’m not sure if RuPaul would approve of her lip syncing skills but it was an entertaining show put on by Lily Allen nonetheless. The British songbird went out in full on Beyonce drag to perform “Drunk In Love” during her show at G-A-Y in London. Whether this was a jab at Mrs Carter or an homage, who knows. Watch Allen get splashed with a bucket of water before prancing around to Bey’s hit song. Check out the clip below.
