Not saying that latest America’s Next Top Model reject Brittany Brown is the best, but she definitely didn’t deserve to go before Kiara. The college hoopster needs to leave my screen immediately. I’m so over her. Like, sooooooo over her.

Who else feels a bit ripped off that Tyra didn’t reveal who was re-entering the competition last episode. The fact it was titled, “The Girl Who Comes Back” should’ve actually featured the girl who comes back. Don’t you think? Ugh, so annoying. Anyhoo, it’s so obvious Leila is coming back, especially when all the eliminated models were standing side by side. She’s clearly head and shoulders above the other girls in terms of potential.

It’s overseas destination time and the girls are heading off to Kingston, Jamaica. Seems like the CW cut Tyra’s travel budget drastically, considering Hong Kong, Morocco, Greece and Italy were the last four previous locations. I can only imagine where Cycle 20, featuring male models for the first time, will take us. Check out the photos from the next episode below.

ANTM Renewed For Cycle 20 And With A Huge Twist

In: Donovan, TV Shows

When the CW banished America’s Next Top Model to Friday nights, many fans feared the end was near for the veteran reality show. Proving she’s a cockroach you just can’t kill, Tyra Banks isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. The network announced this week that a 20th Cycle has been ordered. Sadly though, we’ll have to wait til Summer 2013 to watch Tyra mold a whole new set of wannabe models. It’s only fitting it’s getting shuffled back to Summer, since that’s where it all began years ago.

While ratings have dipped a little due to it’s new night, they haven’t slid as drastically as many have expected. Perhaps, all of Banks’ changes help stop the bleeding. Speaking of changes, the 38-year-old implemented a whole whackload this cycle, practically reinventing the show.

Nigel Barker was swapped out for male supermodel Rob Evans, Johnny Wujek replaced Jay Manual as photo shoot director and fashion blogger BryanBoy was added to the mix. But the biggest change of all was allowing the public to vote on each model’s photo, thereby making viewers the fourth judge. If you thought the Cycle 19 changes were huge, wait til you see what she has in store for Cycle 20.

On your typical cycle, this stage of America’s Next Top Model is the most crucial. It’s the week before the overseas trip. Who doesn’t want a free trip to some exotic location? For Cycle 19 it’s doubly important. Not only will one girl miss out on the trip, but we find out which of the eliminated girls is coming back based on public votes. I swear, if anyone else but Leila Goldkuhl returns, I’ll be pissed.

On the next episode, the girls partake in a little cell block tango for a prison-themed photo shoot. It’s time for glamorous mugshots. Based on the pictures, I’m predicting a Kristin Kagay boot and a first call out for Laura James. Check out the pictures below and in our gallery, and see if you agree. Plus, post your predictions on who you think is reentering the competition.

While last week’s elimination wasn’t a shocker, Yvonne’s head-to-head bitch-off with Bryanboy was. I never would’ve expected the fiercely real model would be the one to argue with one of Tyra’s minions. I would’ve bet the farm on either Kristin or Kiara. Regardless, I’m glad Yvonne is outta there.

Last week, the girls posed with a cranky owl for Mike Ruiz. This time around, the remaining wannabes are snapped by an equally studly photographer- Douglas Friedman. This porn’ stached hottie has the final seven channeling their inner party girl after a night of hard boozing. See which girls give a new meaning to wasted chic and who serves as inspiration for this week’s episode title. Believe it or not, a girl actually gets on all fours and licks the floor. EWWWWW. Check out this week’s backstage photos below. If you want to see the eliminated girl’s “comeback” photos, click the link at the of the article.

Is it me, or does America’s Next Top Model Cycle 19 seem like it’s flying by? I can’t believe we’re already down to eight girls. The overseas trip to Jamaica is just around the corner. How many of you are still shocked that Leila Goldkuhl was eliminated last episode? I’m literally still trying to pick up my jaw off the ground. I thought she was a shoo-in for the Final 4. With Leila now participating in the “comeback” portion of the show, chances of her returning are pretty good. I thought Jessie had the best chance of re-entering the competition prior to Leila’s elimination. Oh well, at least she’ll always have the distinction of being the first one voted off ;)

If you’ve been underwhelmed by the photo shoots up to this point, don’t fret. Photographer Mike Ruiz is here to save the day. The second I saw the owl steampunking Harry Potter-esque photos, I knew they were snapped by him. You can definitely tell his style. Check out all the backstage candid pics and official photos below. Try to correctly predict this week’s FCO (first call out) and eliminated girl in the comments section. Anyone surprised by Destiny Strudwick’s ouster on America’s Next Top Model’s last episode? While she was a gorgeous girl, her looks never really translated to fashion model. Before she left though, I was hoping she’d clock Kristin a couple of times. The blond self-proclaimed recovered ‘mean girl’ definitely isn’t letting her former persona die just yet. She’s definitely still has a chip and bitchy attitude on her shoulders. Hope she gets a Tiffany-type talking to from Tyra real soon. Remember that infamous ANTM moment?

This week, the remaining girls “bring it” to the cheerleader-themed photoshoot. Will any of them channel Kristen Dunst or Gabrielle Union from Bring It On? Possibly, but I’m hoping for a few of them to look like Cheerio rejects from Glee. Photographer Sarah Silver snaps this week’s pics. Designer Mara Hoffman has the models strutting her fashions for the episode’s runway challenge. Check out this week’s backstage photos below, plus check out the NEW Miss J.

Fans of America’s Next Top Model remember Jael Strauss from the 8th Cycle of the reality show. Strauss made it all the way to the overseas trip to Australia that season, but was the first cut once abroad. Her unique personality made her a standout. I’ll never forget the image of 50 Cent pushing Jael into the pool. One of the best moments of ANTM ever.

Five years have passed since Jael competed on the show. This week, she appears on The Dr. Phil Show to discuss her meth addiction. She’s completely unrecognizable now due to her dependency which has ravaged her looks. Her teeth have rotted and her body covered in sores. She is now living on the streets. Once Strauss’ family and Dr. Phil found her, they brought her to LA in hopes of helping Jael turn things around. Fellow ANTM competitor Caridee commented on Jael and ANTM on Gawker’s comment section. Here’s a snippet of it.

“Poor girl. Having problems and then getting a hint of fame only make an addiction rise. They should have evaluated her a lot more before letting her on the show. All they saw was a personality good for television. Well, this hopefully will save at least her life and someone watching. Everything happens for a reason.” – Caridee English (Winner ANTM Cycle 7)

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I’m loving all the changes Tyra Banks has made to the 19th cycle of America’s Next Top Model. As if the viewer voting wasn’t already awesome enough, but last week’s twist at the makeovers was fantastic. Giving the option for the girls to deny a “shake-over” was definitely going to stir up drama. How much of a snooty bitch was that Maria Tucker? She may have Harvard book smarts, but girl definitely lacks social skills and street smarts. Definitely a fool to try to go head-to-head with Kelly and Tyra. Glad she withdrew from the competition.

For this week’s challenge, the girls participate in some acting exercise given by Tyler Perry. Based on the picture above, the model wannabes have to emulate whatever their banner says. All the action takes place over at Santa Monica’s world-famous Third Street Promenade. Taking the pictures at the photo shoot is Rickey Middelsworth. Given that zombies are all the rage these days, the ladies are instructed to channel their inner walking dead personas for Middelsworth. If you recognize all the rubble, you’ve probably taken Universal Studios’ backlot tram tour.

The CW only released the official pictures of the remaining girls left in the competition. If you want to check out Darian and Jessie’s pics for the new “Comeback” portion of show, read my post from a couple of months ago featuring their zombie pics.
