Just in time for “America’s Next Top Model Cycle 16′s” premiere this Wednesday, Tyra Banks released a brand new (kinda funny) promo poking fun at the very girls that aspire to be on the show. Over the years, we’ve all gotten used to various types of girls popping up on every cycle. Whether it’s a mini-me one or a high-fashion cycle, certain ANTM model stereotypes always show up in one form or another.
We all know the type: the blond ditz afraid to cut her hair; the ghetto hoodrat sassy one with a chip on her shoulders; and the angry at the world, but takes beautiful pics one. Being the ham that she is, Tyra puts on appropriate outfits, wigs and makeup to parody them in typical over-the-top Tyra-ness. Check it out below.
It’s time to pull out your Tyra Banks dictionary and get reacquainted with “smizing”, “modeling H2T (head to toe)”, “dreckitude”, “tyovers” and other crap like that. You still have time to get familiarized with them before being subjected to new ridiculous sayings. No doubt, Miss fivehead will come up with a slew of new colloquialisms that will drive us all cray cray. “America’s Next Top Model” Cycle 16 premieres on Wednesday, February 23 at 8pm.
The CW just released cast bios and pics of the wannabe models in the running for ANTM Cycle 16. After last season’s relatively well-received cycle, can Tyra and company build on the momentum of gaining credibility within the fashion industry. Based on the quality of the cast, and the prizes, I would think so. Just like last season’s “high fashion” prize package, the girls will be competing for a contract with IMG Models, a fashion spread in Vogue Italia, a spread and cover of Beauty In Vogue, and a $100,000 contract with CoverGirl Cosmetics.
Pictured, from left above: Dominique, Kasia, Brittani, Monique, Mikaela, Angelia, Hannah, Dalya, Nicole, Sara, Alexandria, Ondrei, Jaclyn and Molly.
While the prizes remain the same, the quality of the guest judges lined up pale in comparison to last year’s roster of industry heavyweights. Joining Tyra Banks, Andre Leon Talley, Nigel Barker on the panel will be celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe, supermodel Alek Wek, Italian Vogue Editor-in-Chief Franca sozzani and “Gossip Girl” costumer designer, Eric Daman. Mr. & Miss Jay also return in their usual capacity.
For those who want to know this cycle’s foreign destination, I’ve got the scoop. But for those who don’t want it spoiled, I’ll write the country in invisible ink slash white font. Simply highlight it, if you want to know. Without further ado, this year’s exotic foreign destination is Morocco !!!
