After ABC chose to move production from Los Angeles to Vancouver for Season 3 to cut costs, Alyssa Milano decided to leave Mistresses. Having recently given birth to a new baby, the 42-year-old actress revealed she didn’t want to spend too much time from her family.
Instead of canceling the moderately-rated series, producers decided to forge ahead and find a new leading lady. Find out below who’s been tapped to play the new ‘mistress’ in town.
Hosting Project Runway isn’t as easy as it seems. Heidi Klum makes it seem like a breeze with her Auf Wiedersehens, short dresses and overall Heidi-isms. Apparently, not all supermodels were created equally.
In the All-Stars format, the show has cycled through three hosts now. Season 1 had Angela Lindvall, but was replaced by Rosie Huntington Whiteley for Season 2. But just days before filming the second season, Rosie bailed and Carolyn Murphy was brought in last minute to fill the position. Murphy was a definite improvement over Lindvall and I’ll miss her. Find out who producers have tapped this time. Surprisingly, it’s not another model but an actress.
When someone mentions celebrity fitness videos, Jane Fonda quickly pops to mind. After all, she practically invented the genre with her highly-successful exercise videos in the 80s. Naturally, everyone and their dog wanted to jump on the fitness bandwagon. Even The Golden Girl’s Estelle Getty made one. Til this day, stars are still sharing their workout routines to make a bit of extra cash.
BuzzFeed recently shared some vintage fitness videos from back in the day. There’s something about the production values during the 80s and early 90s that makes everything super cheesy.
Since the Reunion Part 2 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs tonight, I thought I’d share BuzzFeed’s list. For those who don’t watch the Bravo reality show, this season was all about the competing Stallion Booty and Donkey Booty workout videos. Check out a few of my favorites vintage ones below.
A couple nights ago, I caught the pre-screen of the movie Hall Pass, a comedy starring SNL’s Jason Sudeikis as well as Owen Wilson, who you know from tons of other comedies, but mostly from his unique nose. I had no expectations going into this film, but I will tell you this…I was beyond pleasantly surprised.
Best friends Rick and Fred (Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis) have been married to their wives for several years now (Jenna Fisher and Christina Applegate). When the women start getting frustrated by their men always checking out other girls and always wanting to have sex, they decide to grant their men a one week Hall Pass, as recommended by their psychologist friend, played by Joy Behar from The View. What does that entail? The “Hall Pass” is a week off of marriage to do whatever they want…no questions asked. Of course it seems too good to be true at first, but then the guys realize it’s for real and they’re eager to take advantage of the opportunity. Of course, being “single” isn’t how they remember it to be, as they have changed and so has the scene.
“Nights are long, but you’re on your way to a brand new life around the bend!”
Who’s the Boss was the show that introduced the world to our first official “Manny”. Tony Micelli (played by Tony Danza) is former Cardinals second baseman forced to retire due to a shoulder injury. Wanting to get out of Brooklyn for the sake of his daughter Samantha (played by Alyssa Milano), he ends up taking a job as an live-in housekeeper in Fairfield, Connecticut. His boss? Advertising Executive Angela Bower (played by Judith Light). Angela has a son, Jonathan (played by Danny Pintauro) and then there is her mother Mona (played by Katherine Helmond). Mona was titled at the time as the “sexually progressive mother” who brought home her nightly dates that ranged from college students to silver fox CEO’s.
The title of the show played off the two lead characters. The obvious being that Judith was the breadwinner and that Tony stayed home. However, it seemed as though Tony ran the household truly begging the question, Who’s the Boss?
See where these 5 stars are now after the jump…
As everyone takes it easy today, enjoying their Labor Day by not doing any…Labor, I thought I’d highlight what some celebs are Tweeting today while their servants have the day off…unless their servants are tweeting for them on their day off…
Ellen Degeneres: “#MusicMonday See you on my premiere show @JustinBieber @UsherRaymmondIV @KatyPerry @JustinTimberlake!”
Heidi Montag: “Warning: to anyone who is thinking about getting their ears pinned, I learned after the fact it is the most painful surgery a person can get”
Barack Obama: “This Labor Day, know that I’m going to keep fighting to turn this economy around, put our people back to work, and renew the American Dream.”
Alyssa Milano: Listening to 4 girls arguing passionately over whether or not a Brazilian wax means everything comes off.
Pee Wee Herman: Mmm, coffee-y! Happy National Coffee Ice Cream Day! (and Happy Labor Day too)
Happy Labor Day!
ABC premiered its new comedy “Romantically Challenged” starring Alyssa Milano last night during the post “Dancing with the Stars” time slot. This marks Milano’s first foray back into situation comedy since she won America’s hearts in the 80s classic, “Who’s The Boss”. I love me some Alyssa and was looking forward to sampling the sitcom. After spending a half hour barely formulating a smirk, I would change the show title to “Comedically Challenged”. Trust me, it’s far more appropriate.
While Alyssa has always been a very likable actress, she alone can not save this mess of a show. Considering the Italian cutie is the star of the show, I would’ve expected the show to revolve more around her. Instead they gave equal airtime to the supporting characters that weren’t endearing, entertaining and worst of all… NOT FUNNY. The only one who I could potentially change my mind on is her sensitive straight- but could be gay- friend Perry.
