This. Made. My. Day. You probably remember Bon Qui Qui as the hilariously rude and sassy MADtv character that worked at King Burger. Not too long ago, she also released a music video called “I’m A Cut You” which was a riot as well.
Now, Bon Qui Qui is back in a brand new promotional video for Alexander Wang‘s Spring 2013 T. Bon Qui Qui, played by Anjelah Johnson, is working her first day at the Alexander Wang NYC flagship store and as you can probably guess, it doesn’t go to well. Cameos are by Alessandra Ambrosio, A$AP Rocky, Shannan Click, Simon Doonan & Natasha Lyonne.
One of my favorite parts is when someone says they need something in a larger size and Bon Qui Qui responds, “Oh..you need it like a starving kid need some food…or like a homeless man need a house? You neeeed it?” LOL. Watch the funny video below.
“It’s not fair to have a model singing,” says model Doutzen Kroes. True, but it’s friggin’ hilarious. Especially when said models don’t know the lyrics to this classic tune. Kroes apparently likes to deck the halls with jolly and honey. Pretty much everything except holly. When she finally gets it right, her expression is adorable.
The Dutch model isn’t the only Victoria’s Secret Angel to have a mishap during taping. From falling fake snow, candles probably not lighting up to other bloopers (not including some really tone deaf moments), this video is too cute for words. I have to say I’m a little biased since the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is one of my favorite things in the world.
While, I definitely love seeing shirtless men, there’s just something about these Amazonian women strutting down a glittered runway with their lingerie that just appeals to. Call me crazy. Check out the clip below with features Alessandra Ambrosio, Miranda Kerr, Erin Heatherton, Lily Aldridge and Candice Swanepoel.
Some consider Thanksgiving the start to the Holiday Season, while others wait for December 1st. For me, it’s when CBS airs their annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. No lie. It’s one of my favorite things in the entire world. Mark my words, one day I will attend it front row, hanging out with the supermodels respective boyfriends ;) While not as potent as last year’s telecast, the lingerie fashion show still managed to be the highest rated program of the night in the coveted demo. Congrats ladies.
For me, this wasn’t one of the best outings by Victoria’s Secret. I thought there was TOO much focus on the music acts. Rihanna, Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars all performed two sons apiece. IMHO, the show shines the best when it’s all about the ladies sashaying down the runway to a wicked mash-up. It’s their one time a year to shine. We can watch RiRi and the Biebs on the X Factor, Grammys, AMAs, VMAs and the list go on.
That said, there were a few highlights. The “Circus” theme was brilliant (thanks to the awesome mashup) as was the “Silver Screen Angels“. The giant-sized pinball props for the “Pink Is Us” was also worth noting. Even though a few ensembles from the “Calendar Girls” segment made my Top 15 list, it was the worst theme. When the outfits went wrong, they went horribly wrong. Check out my Top 15 favorites from last night’s show.
When CBS airs its annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on December 4, Alessandra Ambrosio will be sparkling brighter than all the rest of her VS Angel compatriots. The Brazilian supermodel is this year’s chosen one to wear the company’s Fantasy Bra. Believe it or not, it’s the first time the 31-year-old stunner earns this honor. I can’t believe that tacky Marisa Miller even wore the Fantasy Bra before her. Talk about supermodel injustice ;)
Designed by London Jewelers, this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fantasy Bra is worth approximately $2.5 million and part of the Floral Fantasy Gift Set. The push-up bra is bedazzled with amethysts, sapphires, tsavorite, rubies, and white, pink and yellow diamonds, set in 18-karat rose and yellow gold. The set also includes two removable diamond flower pins and a 12.5-carat diamond, 20-carat diamond centerpiece and a sparkly belt.
Personally, I’m not a fan of this year’s design. It looks like an ugly bedazzled vegetable garden on Ambrosio’s cleavage. Check out how this year’s showpiece stacks up to previous Fantasy Bras below.
For those who were worried that I wouldn’t do a Model Behavior post this week due to Round 1 of our 2011 Model Behavior Showdown starting today, they need not worry. I would never deprive you guys of your weekly male model fix. I’m not that cruel ;)
As I was looking through my previous features and compiling them for Round 1, I noticed I was seriously lacking in diversity. I didn’t realized I was on a bit of a rut. My choices ranged from blond jocks to Brazilian hotties with a sprinkling of muscly beefcake thrown in for good measure. Moving forward, I’ll try to be more conscious to include sexpots from all colors of the rainbow. On that note, say hello to Rob Evans.
This 6’3″ British bloke is truly a knockout. Prior to becoming a male model, he boxed for a living. Now he’s making his mark in the fashion industry and people are taking notice. In a world where waif-y and broody models dominate, Rob is turning heads with his masculinity and chiseled physique.
Rob was recently featured in Givenchy’s Spring ads and walked exclusively on the runway for the fashion house. Other brands Evans has worked for include Chrstian Louboutin, Jeremy Scott, Jean Paul Gauthier and Trussard 1911. Evans photo editorial work can be seen in Glamour magazine, l’Officiel Hommes and i-D magazine to name a few. Check out the pictures below to see why the industry loves this rising star.
For some, Thanksgiving signals the beginning of the Holiday season, while others begin their fa la la’ing on December 1st. Not me. Nothing revs up my engine for the festive season like the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. This is how I like to ring in the holidays. Yuppers, I’m that kind of gay. You would be too, if you watched the yearly specials.
Everything you’ve come to expect from the annual extravaganza was on hand. From campy themes, sexy women, high-wattage musical performances and Swarovski crystals by the crate, all were in order to stage an unforgettable show. This year’s production held at the Lexington Avenue Armory in New York City cost a reported $12 million to stage. YOWZA, that’s a lot of panties and bras. What’s the markup on Victoria’s Secret’s lingerie? Papa needs to look into if they sell franchises.
Victoria’s Secret Angels Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Miranda Kerr, Doutzen Kroes, Erin Heatherton, Lily Aldridge, Lindsay Ellingson, Candice Swanepoel and Chanel Iman along with a bevy of other beauties showed off their toned bodies in six creatively themed segments. Maroon 5, Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z and Kanye West provided stand out performances for the girls to strut to. That being said, I much prefer it when the girls sashay down to custom mashups instead of the live music. It should be all about the models and outfits, instead of the musical acts. They have enough televised opportunities to show of their vocal abilities.
The “2010 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show” aired last night on CBS and it was better than ever. It was more glamorous, had more wings, and more segments than years prior. Thank God, the producers decided to nix that awful “Search for the Next VS Model” piece from last year. Talk about useless filler. They expected you to believe your votes actually counted, but the show didn’t even air live. Silly, silly, silly. Do they think VS customers are that dense?
At first I wasn’t too crazy about Katy Perry and Akon as musical guests, but their songs fit the respective segment themes perfectly. And how cute was it when Perry joined the models jumping up and down at the finale. I would’ve loved it though if Akon’s “Sexy Bitch” had opened the show. Let’s face it, all those women up there are sexy bitches. Speaking of sexy, it was a little odd that their wasn’t a segment saluting Heidi Klum’s years as a VS Angel. A few months ago, the saucy German announced her retirement from the lingerie brand. When Tyra Banks quit a few years ago, not only was their a full-on tribute piece to her, but she also go to close out the show in that ridiculous outfit and sceptre. Given Heidi’s many years of service, she deserved a better sendoff.
Speaking of former featured Victoria’s Secret Angels, it was nice to see Selita Ebanks, Karolina Kurkova (who looks amazing considering she just had a baby) and Isabel Goulart on the runway strutting it out. I wonder how it feels to be part of the show and watch your younger replacements receive all the attention. Though I love Ebanks and Kurkova, I’m beyond the moon that Chanel Iman made it as a featured model this year. I’ve followed her career for years now and predicted she would be one to watch. In the end, I guess it’s still an honor to be included even though you’re no longer front and center. These years’ featured models were Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Chanel Iman, Candice Swanpoel, Erin Heatherton, Lily Aldridge, Lindsay Ellingson, Rosie Huntington Whiteley and Behati Prinsloo.
On November 30, 2010 (next Tuesday) CBS is airing their annual one-hour prime-time (or a little later at 10pm or 9pm central) special of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Donovan and Brian introduced me to this gem of an event a few years back and it has quickly become one of my guilty pleasures. What’s not to love, really? Incredibly gorgeous models strut down the runway in devastatingly beautiful lingerie pieces, for the world to admire and marvel at their beauty. Add to that some incredible performances by today’s hottest music talent and you have the recipe for an incredible night of TV viewing.
Leading up to the event this year, which boasts a performance from the pop-sensation bombshell, Katy Perry, Victoria’s Angels developed a promo video all on their own. In a brilliant spin to promote both the event and Katy Perry’s recent smash hit Firework, the Angel’s put together their own music video for the song, using clips and snippets from the event filmed a few weeks ago.
The show (and music video) is once again showing off their best assets, including two of my favorite supermodels Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio, to name a few.
