The Killers frontman’s second stab at a solo album is shaping up quite nicely. On the heels of the surprisingly catchy, “Can’t Deny My Love,” Brandon Flowers releases another solid track off his forthcoming sophomore studio album titled The Desired Effect.
Visually speaking, “Still Want You” pales in comparison to the stunning clip for its predecessor starring Evan Rachel Wood, but it’s nice effort. When not serving laid-back cool hanging out at some warehouse, the 33-year-old singer navigates through a woman’s hands while singing the song’s lyrics. Warren Fu directed the slick black-and-white clip. Check it out below.
Hilary Duff’s shiny new track “Sparks” is awesome on its own accord. With a dance overhaul, it’s a whole different ballgame. The synth-pop song transforms to a club bangin’ anthem. If you thought the whistles were fantastic before, they’re now even more epic with the harder beat.
German rising DJ JØRG adds major house beats to “Sparks.” I’m not sure if this is an authorized remix but it should be. I’m even more obsessed with the infectious song than before. Give it a listen below.
This week I’m featuring an inspiring CrossFit athlete named Sam Dancer. I saw him compete at the CrossFit Games in Carson, CA last year, but really didn’t know much about his story until this week when I stumbled upon the trailer for a documentary about him called “The Power Of Love“.
Dancer is from Quincy, Illinois where he now runs a gym called CrossFit Q Town with his wife Jennie. Dancer is breaking stereotypes with something as little as painting his nails and not being afraid to express himself through colour. He coaches and inspires children and adults to be the best they can be and gives them the strength to find a confidence they never thought possible. The trailer for this documentary is actually quite touching and he seems like he is just as attractive on the inside (if not more) as he is on the outside. “There’s nothing socially acceptable about a man painting his nails, especially here in Quincy, Illinois… I started to figure out what love was, and that it was this cure all for everything, and I wanted to share that. And this ended up being the perfect platform for that.”
Check out his pictures and videos below. Keep up the good work, Sam!
Just when you thought the cast couldn’t get any more star-studded, Sir Ian McKellen enters the scene. The 75-year-old actor is the latest to join Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty & The Beast.
He joins previously announced cast members Emma Watson (Belle), Daniel Stevens (The Beast), Luke Evans (Gaston), Josh Gad (Le Fou), Audra McDonald (Singing Wardrobe), Kevin Kline (Maurice) and Emma Thompson (Mrs. Potts). There aren’t many roles left to fill. Have any guesses which one McKellen has been tapped to play? Find out below.
While channel surfing one day, I stumbled upon this little gem on MTV. Naturally, I stopped and watched for a bit to enjoy the plethora of buff male specimens. I had no idea what was going on but I was hooked.
Ex on the Beach is a British reality show that features eight single men and women enjoying a summer holiday in paradise while looking for love. Things become less than ideal when some of their exes show up to shake things up. Apparently, the show is a hit and two seasons have aired.
For all you reality junkies, you might recognize a few faces since some of them are recycled from other reality guilty pleasures like Geordie Shore and Celebrity Big Brother.
Check out some of my favorite guys below to hit the beach for MTV UK. Be sure to weigh in on which ones are your favorites afterwards. The juicy one above is named Jack Lomax in case you feel like voting for him.
With roles on Smash and CBS’ Scorpion, I assumed (wrongfully) that Katharine McPhee had given up on her recording career. Thankfully, I was wrong. The 31-year-old entertainer’s “Over It” is one of the most underrated singles from an American Idol alum. Maybe I’m biased since I loved how The Hills used it for an episode. Remember when Lauren Conrad was over it with one of her sucky friends?
McPhee took to Instagram to preview her new single “Lick My Lips.” Love the title. You can hear the track in the background while she’s getting glammed up to film the music video. Based on the grainy quality, I think it has potential. Can’t wait to hear the high quality full version. Give it a listen below.
Both Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt have excellent voices as evident in Les Miserables and Into The Woods respectively. The Devil Wears Prada co-stars, however, let their lip syncing skills instead of their vocals do all the fighting for their battle on Spike TV’s Lip Sync Battle.
Their episode aired last night with both ladies turning in memorable performances. Blunt took on “No Diggity” and “Piece Of My Heart” by Blackstreet and Janis Joplin respectively. Meanwhile, Hathaway performed to Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” and Mary J. Blige’s “Love.”
Anne Hathaway was crowned victorious. In my opinion though, Emily won one round with “No Diggity,” while Anne slayed the other round with “Wrecking Ball.” So pretty much a draw. Watch both rounds below and weigh in on which actress came out on top.
In addition to their Grease remake, FOX is also developing one for The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Unlike the former, the reboot of 1975 musical comedy cult classic won’t be a live production.
According to Entertainment Weekly, this way the network will have an easier time attracting top talent who are fearful of performing without the safety net of retakes.
Kenny Ortega, the man behind High School Musical, is helming the project. He’ll work alongside the original producer of the film, Lou Adler. This won’t be FOX’s first experience with The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Glee previously paid homage to the film.
Who would you cast in the main roles? Hopefully Tim Curry or Susan Sarandon who appeared in the original make a cameo in the remake? Weigh in below.
