Behind The Cast: Hawaiian Vacay

In: Behind The Cast, Donovan

Aloha bitches!!! I suppose that’s not really in keeping with the Hawaiian islands’ friendly spirit ;)

If you noticed the sparse number of posts this week, this is the reason why. I’m currently in Maui with a few friends for a little vacay. Typically, when Brian and I go traveling we love going out all day checking out the tourist landmarks and then hitting the nightlife. This trip, is a bit of a departure for us. It’s full-on relaxation mode. It’s been the beach, pool, drinks, day road trips and repeat. I’ve gotta say, I’m quite enjoying the downtime.

We’re about halfway through our trip and I wanted to share a few pics I’ve taken since arriving. So far, we’ve enjoyed a luau, driven the beautiful road to Hana, splashed around at Big Beach in Makena and ate lots of delicious food. Check out a few photos below. I’m here til Friday, so expect another week of limited posts. Hope everyone is having a great Sunday. Follow me on Instagram.

Pitbull Debuts Fireball Video Featuring John Ryan

In: Donovan, Music

Call me biased (I love him), but can Pitbull do any wrong when it comes to churning out club bangers. The 33-year-old rapper consistently provides the goods with “Timber” and “Feel This Moment” being excellent examples.

For his latest “Fireball,” a Latin-tinged scorcher, Pitbull enlists newcomer John Ryan to provide the vocals. It’s off his forthcoming album, Globalization, due out early next year. David Rousseau directs the accompanying visual which features Mr. Worldwide do what he does best- party. This time, however, in a roaring 20s-type setting. Check out the clip below.

Colin Farrell Confirms True Detective Role

In: Donovan, TV Shows

For the past several months, everyone and their agent has been reportedly linked to star in Season 2 of True Detective. In Colin Farrell’s case, those rumors are true. In an interview with Ireland’s Sunday World, the 38-year-old confirmed his involvement with the hit HBO series.

“I’m doing the second series. I’m so excited.”

“I know it will be eight episodes and take around four or five months to shoot. I know very little about it, but we’re shooting in the environs of Los Angeles which is great. It means I get to stay at home and see the kids.”

Movie Review: This Is Where I Leave You

In: Matt, Movies

This is Where I Leave You hit theatres this week and having witnessed some of the director’s past transgressions such as Cheaper by the Dozen and Night at the Museum I had my hesitations. The film features an all-star cast so at least I had that to look forward to.

The film, adapted from the novel by Jonathan Topper, tells the story of a dysfunctional family brought together by the death of their not so religious father whose last request was that the family sit Shiva, the seven day Jewish mourning period. As you can expect hilarity ensues as the family struggles to cope with being around each other while also dealing with their own personal issues.

Academy nominee Jessica Chastain teams up with fellow Oscar nominee, director J.C. Chandor, for the upcoming crime drama, A Most Violent Year. The film’s story is set during the winter of 1981 in New York City which is statistically one of the most violent years on record in the city’s history. Chastain and Oscar-less nominated Oscar Isaac play a couple chasing the American Dream during this turbulent time.

Rounding out the cast are Alessandro Nivola, Albert Brooks and David Oyelowo. A Most Violent Year hits theaters on December 31, just in time for Oscar consideration. Check out the first trailer below.

“For the last four years this set has been home to the funniest, most outrageous voice in comedy. This chair was a place where a woman spoke the truth about celebrities and fashion and did it in a way that was hilarious and absolutely 100 percent original.”

That’s how Melissa Rivers kicked off the special tribute episode to the late great Joan Rivers. For the next 90 minutes Rivers’ co-hosts Giuliana Rancic, Kelly Osbourne, and George Kotsiopoulos praised their deceased leader, along with sharing their favorite memories.

In between, segments from Joan’s celebrity interviews were included. Just a few of the stars featured were Nicki Minaj, Zendaya, Martha Stewart, Raquel Welch, Howie Mandel, Snooki, Miss Piggy, Nene Leakes, Big Sean, Kevin Hart, Adam Lambert, Red Foo, Kate Walsh, Sarah Silverman and Fergie.

For those wondering about the show’s future, E! announced it’s continuing production with Melissa’s blessing. It returns with new episodes in 2015 with their Golden Globes coverage. No word on if anyone will sit in Joan’s chair. Check out a few clips from the tribute episode below.

Sports Stud: Aldo Montano

In: Patrick, Sports & Health, Totally GAY!

For this week’s Sports Stud I’ve decided to highlight an athlete from a sport we haven’t featured all that much, if at all: fenching. Aldo Montano is an Italian fencer and a four-time Olympic medalist. He is 35-years old and fenching has played a big role in his family. Both is father and his grandfather competed in the Olympics for fencing.

Aside from his athletic accomplishments, Montano is also incredibly handsome and has done quite a bit of modelling, including underwear modelling. I’ve included an assortment of some of his sexiest pictures below. He looks hot with short or long hair and has some nice tattoos as well.

Fergie Returns With L.A. Love (La La)

In: Donovan, Music

The Duchess is back ya’ll. It’s been four years since The Black Eyed Peas’ last album, and a whopping eight years since her debut LP. Insane right? Fergie returns with her highly-anticipated sophomore solo album, rumored to hit stores in the first part of 2015.

A snippet of the first single “L.A. Love (La La)” has made its way online. It’s really hard to comment on it given the 39-year-old basically shouts out random cities around the world. Is this a geography lesson? I’m hoping for a lot more from her other tracks and the final version of this one. The DJ Mustard-produced track is expected to make its way to radio on September 30. Give it a listen below.
