In my opinion, Tori Kelly is on the cusp of breaking out in a big way. The infectious lead single, “Nobody Love,” off her forthcoming debut album hasn’t become a huge smash yet, but it did crack the Top 20 of Billboard’s Pop chart. One day though, she’ll prove me right that she’s the one American Idol let slip away during the ninth season.

The latest taste off her LP is another catchy track. Max Martin didn’t produce “Should’ve Been Us” like he did “Nobody Love,” but it has an equally impressive pedigree. Swedish songwriters Ludvig Söderberg and Jakob Jerlström (Tove Lo) and Alexander Kronlund (Britney Spears) crafted this delicious earworm. What is it about those Swedes and their pop anthems?

“Should’ve Been Us” is giving me some serious Robyn vibes circa the 90s. Give it a listen below and weigh in if it reminds you of the “Show Me Love” singer as well.

When you’re number one, not much tweaking is required. CBS has finished on top 12 out of the last 13 years. With that in mind, the eye network still plans on rolling out seven new shows in hopes they maintain their crown.

Arguably, one of the most anticipated shows is Supergirl featuring Glee alum Melissa Benoist in the titular role. Based on the trailer, it appears Greg Berlanti is going more in the vein of The Flash as opposed to Arrow. It’s more lighthearted and dare I say campy. Calista Flockhart, IMHO, steals the spotlight in the trailer.

Other new offerings include, Rush Hour and Limitless which are both based on feature films. The latter starred Bradley Cooper, who’s now one of the producers. He won’t reprise his role but he’s agreed to play a recurring character. Jane Lynch books her first post-Glee gig in the comedy Angel From Hell.

With regards to veteran programs, CBS decided to yank the once-dominate CSI. It’ll end its run with a special two-hour movie featuring the returns of original stars William Petersen and Marg Helgenberger. Fans of 2 Broke Girls, Mike & Molly and The Odd Couple will have to wait til midseason, as well as Person of Interest viewers.

It’s hard to believe, but no woman of color has ever been named the face of Dior since the house launched seven decades ago. Rihanna becomes the first to do so. The Bajan singer joins actresses Natalie Portman, Jennifer Lawrence, and Marion Cotillard as current faces of the brand.

The 27-year-old is simply stunning for the French fashion label. The campaign, titled “Secret Garden IV,” was shot France’s Palace of Versailles. Several images snapped by Steven Klein have leaked online showcasing RiRi serving major eleganza.

The accompanying video will feature a track titled “A Night” which features a sample of Florence + The Machine’s “Only If for A Night.” Check out the print campaign below.

If the master of horror Stephen King calls Crimson Peak terrifying, it’s safe to say the film will be one frightening ride. King attended an early screening and called it “gorgeous and just f*cking terrifying” and that it “electrified” him. With that kind of praise, I’m definitely intrigued.

Crimson Peak comes from the brilliant mind of Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, Pacific Rim). It stars Jessica Chastain, Tom Hiddleston, Charlie Hunnam and Mia Wasikowska. The film is scheduled to haunt theaters on October 16. Check out the trailer below.

Movie Synopsis

Set in Cumbria, in a crumbling mansion in a largely rural and mountainous region of northern England in the 19th century, young author Edith Cushing (Wasikowska) discovers that her charming new husband Sir Thomas Sharpe (Hiddleston) is not who he appears to be.

With Iggy Azalea involved, an entertaining music video is pretty much guaranteed. The Aussie rapper’s cinematic approach is always on point. I’m willing to bet the farm it was Iggy’s idea to draw inspiration from the 80s cult film, Earth Girls Are Easy. Right?

Pretty Girls” starts off with I-G-G-Y arriving on Earth in Britney Spears’ pool, looking fierce in her silver intergalactic outfit and skyscraper beehive. After a quick Valley Girl couture makeover, the duo ride top down telling the world exactly how pretty they are.

The Camerdon Duddy-directed clip features both ladies showing off their acting skills. Not surprisingly, it’s a bit awkward and unnecessary, but fun to see, in a hate-watching sort of way. Check out the video below. It’s not a bad clip, but it still doesn’t endear me to the song yet. I’m a little worried this will never grow on me.

During its upfronts presentation, ABC revealed they have ten new programs on deck- six dramas and four comedies. The ones that immediately caught my eye were Quantico, a thriller about a group of FBI recruits which includes a suspected terrorist mastermind, the Shonda Rhimes con drama, The Catch and the comedy The Real O’Neals about a gay boy and his religious Irish family. Sadly though, the latter two won’t premiere until midseason. The alphabet network is only premiering half of their new offerings in the Fall.

In terms of schedule, ABC is keeping things relatively status quo. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday nights remain mostly the same. The only notable slot change is Secret & Lies. It moves to Wednesday nights, sharing the 10pm slot with Nashville. Speaking of Secret & Lies, it was announced that only Juliette Lewis is set to return for the sophomore season.

ABC’s other new programs include a Muppets revival, Uncle Buck reboot and two former Gossip Girl alums headlining their own shows. Chace Crawford and Ed Westwick star in OIL and Wicked City respectively. The latter seems the more intriguing of the two. Check out all the trailers and show descriptions below.

I had such high hopes for the live adaptation of Jem And The Holograms. But just as I feared, it appears it’s going to be one hot mess. This isn’t anything like the 80s cartoon beloved by so many.

Where in the hell is Synergy and more importantly, The Misfits? So not truly outrageous. If anything, the film looks like a poor man’s Josie and the Pussycats. Remember that Rachel Leigh Cook and Rosario Dawson flick?

Movie Synopsis

As a small-town girl catapults from underground video sensation to global superstar, she and her three sisters begin a one-in-a-million journey of discovering that some talents are too special to keep hidden. In Universal Pictures’ Jem and the Holograms, four aspiring musicians will take the world by storm when they see that the key to creating your own destiny lies in finding your own voice.

The film stars Aubrey Peeples, Hayley Kiyoko, Stefanie Scott and Aurora Perrineau as Jem and her band mates. Molly Ringwald, Juliette Lewis and Ryan Guzman play supporting roles. Not even if Guzman appeared full frontal would I be remotely interested in this. Well, maybe I could be persuaded ;)

Scooter Braun, Justin Bieber’s manager, is one of the producers of the film. Dude needs to put away for life for this blasphemous version. Jem And The Holograms hits theaters in December 2015. Check out the first trailer below.

To the delight of fans, FOX announced it ordered more episodes of Empire for its sophomore season. Sadly though, my weekly fix of everything that is Cookie Lyon is still months away. Good news however, Cookie’s on-screen sons strut their sex appeal on the cover of Essence’s June 2015 issue to tide us over until the season premiere.

Trai Byers, Yazz and Jussie Smollett join forces on one cover and also grace their own individual ones for the glossy’s vacation issue. I have to say, I’m loving the scruff and grown hair on Smollett. He looks even sexier than he did before. Check out the Lyon brothers in all their glory below and weigh in on which sibling you find the hottest.
